Right-ho, we've been discussing this elsewhere but thought a seperate thread may be useful.

Concept was to have a sprog and non sprog meetup

Sprog - aquarium, thus far I think the best day was Monday, I know there are a lot of you 'popping' back to the UK back can we still manage May? I for one have no plans EVER.

Non sprog - Opera bar for a Saturday lunch again? When? First I could do is May 16.

Anybody fancy an (early) evening thing, also up for debate is the possible hunter valley trip? (thumb to be in charge)

So - regrouping - who is coming this Friday?
Me - yes.
Who else?

bunnygirl80 · 14/09/2011 06:31

We're coming

Eralc · 14/09/2011 10:15

Still not sure - DS2 still coughing and spluttering and sounding generally hideous (although he's cheerful enough!) Will see how he is tomorrow and then make a decision!

Eralc · 15/09/2011 04:38

We won't be there - DS2 is full of cold now, and as last night I lost count after the 10th get-up, I can't think we'll have much more sleep tonight. Am gutted - we were looking forward to it :(

abithormonal · 15/09/2011 06:16

Me and DS will be there with knobs on (well he will)

Aww boo, Eralc! well hopefully we can organise another adult/alcy meet up soon and you can come along to that.
Very excited about tomorrow - we'll be coming in by train all the way, I think unless we miss it Blush and should be there around 11:30. See you then! :)

bunnygirl80 · 15/09/2011 10:42

Not sure if we'll make it for 11:30 - depends on what DS does with his morning nap....he's been taking 2.5hr morning naps recently (so he doesn't wake before 11:30), and if I wake him he's just cranky. So just get started without us, and we'll find you when we get there

Thumbwitch · 15/09/2011 12:16

No problem :)

HighFibreDiet · 15/09/2011 15:32

I am so disappointed, I won't be able to make tomorrow's meetup as ds3 appears to have come down with whooping cough (despite having been vaccinated). If it's not that, it's something that's making him cough loads and he is pretty miserable, so it wouldn't be fair to anyone if we did turn up.

I hope I'll make it to the next one - it would be great to see you all in person. Smile

Thumbwitch · 16/09/2011 00:14

Well, as Bunny is now out again because her DS has been vomming all night, we have cancelled it again.
I am going to visit abithormonal separately but we need to rearrange the date.

Next Friday would work for me, but not either of the Fridays after that (school holidays plus general busyness) - wanna try it again next week?

bunnygirl80 · 16/09/2011 10:12

We can't make next week - have to go back to the drs to organise more investigations for DS.

They're not sure what's causing the vomming - it's definitely not gastro. Most likely cause is an ear infection - and it does look like he has chronic otitis media so I think we'll be off to see an ENT person and get some grommets put in. In the mean time if he's still being sick over the weekend we have to go to the children's hospital to see what they think.

Eralc · 16/09/2011 10:17

Oh no bunny - your poor DS - hope they can sort him out soon.

HFD - that sounds nasty. There are some really unpleasant viruses going round at the moment - hope it's just one of them rather than whooping cough.

We can't do next week either - DS1 has his preschool end of term picnic at 1, so there wouldn't be time for me to get back to Lane Cove before it started. After the holidays we have no plans though, so any time then would be fine.

Thumbwitch · 17/09/2011 10:43

OK - how about tentatively the 14th October then? Winter viruses and snuffles should all be gone by then, fingers crossed we'll all be sorted!

Bunny, that is slightly concerning - hope they sort it out soon.
HFD - hope your DS is ok too and it's not whooping cough or anything awful.

Eralc · 17/09/2011 13:35

That should be fine for us - will pop it on the calendar so that we don't organise anything else for that day :)

bunnygirl80 · 20/09/2011 10:45

That should be fine with us, although it's probably just long enough away that DS will contract a new form of plague Grin

redvelvetpoppy · 29/09/2011 02:34

Hello folks Grin

Can I join this thread? Sorry if I am gatecrashing....would love to come to a meet-up with DS (3)....we're in Sydney (Cronulla) & fairly new to it all, still upacking boxes in fact Blush & keen to get out & about & meet more people

bunnygirl80 · 29/09/2011 10:53

Of course you can join us redvelvetpoppy

We're still unpacking boxed and we've been here 2yrs Blush

The current plan is for a trip to the aquarium on October 14th, so you and your DS are more than welcome to come along.

redvelvetpoppy · 30/09/2011 01:37

Cheers bunnygirl80

It's on the calendar! DS l-o-o-o-o-v-e-s the aquarium Grin

Thumbwitch · 02/10/2011 03:48

bunny - ditto on the boxes and time here, but less of the unpacking going on!!

Redvelvet - definitely you can join us!

And can I just say for those who know me - I GOT MY PERMANENT VISA THIS WEEK! YAAAAYYY!! Grin

sunnydelight · 02/10/2011 06:40

Oh congrats Thumb!

Eralc · 05/10/2011 01:01

Yay Thumb!

Hello Redvelvet.

I know we have the aquarium organised for Oct 14th, but I was wondering if people would like to sort a date for another child-free meetup - I could really do with some grown-up conversation (the holidays send me a bit insane!) I'm free most weekends for the next few months (as I have no life!) - we have a few visitors coming, but I can give them quality time with the DS's and OH if it's one of those weekends :)

Thumbwitch · 05/10/2011 01:43

Eralc, what a very good idea! I am also free most weekends (bar this one coming and 5th November - that's all I can remember at the moment) so someone who has restrictions stick a date on it!

bunnygirl80 · 05/10/2011 10:02

Good idea Eralc.

I'm free 29/30th Oct and then not again until 27/28th November (1st birthdays for DS and all his little friends from mother's group are upon us so we have lots of drinking sessions child friendly parties to attend Grin

sunnydelight · 05/10/2011 10:21

Child free is always good for me!!!! I can do Sunday 30th Oct, am then free most weekends from 19/11 at the moment. Maybe go for the later date that bunnygirl is free in the hope that with enough notice more people can come? Can I vote for somewhere lively this time (Opera Bar would be nice coming up to Summer!).

Eralc · 05/10/2011 10:28

I could do the 27th/28th November onwards no problem - Could also do the 30th Oct. Opera Bar was lovely last time we went, so that sounds good to me (and I can drink this time - woohoo!) We have a Wiggles concert (oh the fun!)on the 17th December, so couldn't do that one.
