Right-ho, we've been discussing this elsewhere but thought a seperate thread may be useful.

Concept was to have a sprog and non sprog meetup

Sprog - aquarium, thus far I think the best day was Monday, I know there are a lot of you 'popping' back to the UK back can we still manage May? I for one have no plans EVER.

Non sprog - Opera bar for a Saturday lunch again? When? First I could do is May 16.

Anybody fancy an (early) evening thing, also up for debate is the possible hunter valley trip? (thumb to be in charge)

Hi everyone glad you had a good meetup even without a poorly Thumbwitch plus ds. I could have done it after all, as dc4 has yet to put in an appearance. Anyway I'm lying in bed now having slipped on the stairs and bruised my coccyx Sad so hoping I don't go into labour in the next 24h at least. Maybe I should get the name of Thumb's osteo?

If you do end up arranging the aquarium meet on a Fri that would be good for me. Thursdays are also possible although ds3 is generally in daycare so would have to decide whether to take him out for a day or just come along with tiny bub.

ThumbsNoseAtSnapewitch · 17/07/2011 11:04

HFD - have pm'd you her details just in case. ouchy to bruised coccyx!

HighFibreDiet · 18/07/2011 04:57

Thanks. Might not bother trying to get an appt before labour but I feel it would be worth a checkup afterwards.

Eralc · 18/07/2011 09:24

We could miss a swimming lesson on a Friday - my only constraint would then be that I'd not be able to set off for the city until after preschool drop off, and wouldn't be able to stay any later than 1.30 at the very latest so that I was back in time for preschool pick up.

ThumbsNoseAtSnapewitch · 18/07/2011 10:45

Eralc - wouldn't you bring the bigger DC with you as well if we're going to the Aquarium??

Eralc · 18/07/2011 12:13

I would do if it was a day when he was about - but if he isn't at least I won't have to juggle the two of them! He's at preschool Thurs/Fri so unless it's holiday time he wouldn't be there.

sunnydelight · 21/07/2011 09:01

I didn't know your DH was Irish thumb! Can you ask him how easy it is to renew passports here please, DD's Irish one expired recently leaving her with none at all - only DS1 and I have got our Aussie ones as we're the only ones who have been overseas recently. I would like us all to keep both current if possible.

I would have loved to meet you on the 27th but I am finally a working woman again so Mondays are my only free days now. Let me know if you ever come down on a Monday.

ThumbsNoseAtSnapewitch · 21/07/2011 10:11

Ha, renewing Irish passport has been annoying more than anything. You can email them for the renewal form but it can't be done online - it has to be done on paper and sent back to them. It takes a while to get it done, about 6w, DH thinks - but you have to go in person to pick it up from the Irish Embassy in Sydney so they can ID you in person. DH's is still waiting for him at the Irish Embassy - he's picking it up next Wednesday.

Right people, who is going to be the one to put their foot down and set a date for the aquarium visit?

From the previous discussions it seems that there isn't a day that everyone can make with all of their DCs in tow, so we'll just have to do what the majority want to do. How about everyone posts their preferred day, and in true democratic fashion the day with most votes will be the day? And noone can say "I don't mind" because then everyone will say they don't mind and no decision will ever get taken Once we've got a day, then we can work towards a date!!

I'll start and then you can copy the list and add yourself to the bottom:
bunny Friday

Mon- Fri ;-) I am planning on being a lady of leisure for a few months so pretty flexible so long as it is after the 25th Aug. Looking like we will be in the lower North Shore and I am a bit terrified at the thought of driving in Sydney but I shall endeavour to be there.

Congratulations HFD!! how lovely :)

Fridays are starting to look good...

Eralc · 12/08/2011 03:56

Congratualtions HFD!

bunnygirl80 · 12/08/2011 07:34

Congrats HFD.

Right, how about Friday 9th Sept?

Thumbwitch · 12/08/2011 07:35

Sounds good to me!

HighFibreDiet · 13/08/2011 00:47

9 Sep sounds good. Thanks for the congrats. :) Bats, if you are on Lower North Shore the ferries and buses aren't too bad an option. I'm not too keen on driving myself.

Eralc · 13/08/2011 05:48

9th Sept sounds good to me too (and easier as I'll only have the baby!) Bats - do you know roughly where on the Lower North Shore you'll be? I'll be travelling in by bus from there (no way on this planet would I drive into the city - scares me silly just thinking about it!)

batsforlashes · 14/08/2011 11:25

Friday the 9th - excellent !! My first Sydney date for the diary. We have an application in for a house in Lane Cove and the move in date is 9th Sept but sure it will only be suitcases as we have no furniture yet.

Looking forward to meeting everyone .

bunnygirl80 · 22/08/2011 00:45

OK so it sounds like the 9th Sept suits most of us.

Would anyone like to suggest a time? thumb you have the furthest to travel to get here, so perhaps you could let us know what suits you?

Eralc · 22/08/2011 09:42

I'll have to drop DS1 at preschool at 9am, so won't manage to get into the city until 9.30 at the earliest (and probably later than that tbh). I'll also have to be on the bus back to Lane Cove by 2 at the very latest to pick him up. Other than that, I'm fine with any time! bats - are you planning to drive in or bus? If you were thinking of bussing, I will be going from Lane Cove Interchange, so can meet you there first if you want!

batsforlashes · 23/08/2011 09:11

Eraic- not sure just yet- We won't have the keys to the house until the 9th and will be staying in Wollstonecraft til then. That said I am planning to start DD1 in school asap so could drop here there go into town from LC so my timings would be similar to you.

We are leaving in 5 hours and I am all cried out- this moving countries is a bit of a nightmare emotionally. :-((

bunnygirl80 · 23/08/2011 10:30

bats good luck with the move

DS normally sleeps from about 9:30 till 11, and again from 2 - so our best time would be 11:30-2 (although he'd need lunch during that time). He's pretty good at sleeping in his pram, so I can just push him around while he sleeps if needs be.
