Right-ho, we've been discussing this elsewhere but thought a seperate thread may be useful.

Concept was to have a sprog and non sprog meetup

Sprog - aquarium, thus far I think the best day was Monday, I know there are a lot of you 'popping' back to the UK back can we still manage May? I for one have no plans EVER.

Non sprog - Opera bar for a Saturday lunch again? When? First I could do is May 16.

Anybody fancy an (early) evening thing, also up for debate is the possible hunter valley trip? (thumb to be in charge)

Thanks bunny for whipping everything into shape, this time round I seem to have been seriously affected by pregnancy brain.

Theres a new crab exhibit hooray, the excitement. see y'all then

Having whipped everyone into shape and suggested a date, I'm now going to have to pull out. DS has come down with hand foot and mouth, so he's too ill/contagious to come out to play this week Sad

Those of you who are stil going need to arrange a time to meet

Thumbwitch · 05/09/2011 14:47

Awww BUNNY!!! That's a right bummer. :(

Abit - have you mentioned that? Did I miss it? (quite probably) - Congrats if I haven't already said so!! Grin

For some reason this dropped off my Threads completely and I've only just remembered to find it again.
I am still game on for Friday, probably need to catch the 9:08 train which will get me into Sydney by 11:05am and then to the Aquarium about 15mins after that (hopeful?) - ok, say 11:30. It might be a bit later than the rest of you would like so if you want to just get there earlier and we'll catch up and find you, that's fine but if you're happy to wait for us, that would be lovely.

Looking forward to it but very :( that Bunny can't make it.

HighFibreDiet · 06/09/2011 03:28

I can still do it and would love to meet up with all of you that can make it. I'll check ferry times to see what time we can get there.

HighFibreDiet · 06/09/2011 03:53

Hmm, I'm sure the Fast Ferries used to go to Darling Harbour but maybe they have stopped. So from Circular Quay we'll have to do walk, train or bus. We should be there by 11.30 but I doubt we'll make it before that either.

HighFibreDiet · 06/09/2011 03:56

sorry bunnygirl's son has hand foot and mouth :( hope he gets better soon.

Eralc · 06/09/2011 04:52

Oh no Bunny - what a shame :(

We should be able to make it on Friday, although we have colds and things going round the house at the moment, so it just depends on whether or not one of the boys is ill. 11.30 should be ok for us too - means we can go swimming first. I'll have to leave by 1.30, but I would think that we would have finished in the aquarium by then anyway.

Thumbwitch · 06/09/2011 05:17

Goody, looks like 11:30 is the best time then!
Who has whose contact numbers, or perhaps more to the point, who doesn't have anyone's contact number? I know I have Bunny's (but won't need it) Eralc's and Abithormonal's, I have SunnyDelight's - is she coming?
HFD - if you have no one's contact number, PM me (or someone) so we can sort you out. :)

HighFibreDiet · 06/09/2011 13:10

Thanks, thumb. I will do.

batsforlashes · 07/09/2011 04:05

Think I will have to take a raincheck on Friday. We are getting the keys to our house on Friday morning so I am sure I will have tons to do. After a couple of weeks in the IL's house I cannot wait for Friday.

On another topic altogether- I need a little perspective on schools- would anyone with any experience of Catholic primary schools mind letting me know and I could pm them ?

Have a great time on Friday, Eraic will definitely give you a shout for a coffee over the next couple of weeks.

Loving this Sydney weather !

abithormonal · 07/09/2011 23:50

we're just back from the Dr's and we have another one down with hand foot and mouth, DS is frustratingly his usual chirpy self and I'm exhausted, this is not going to be good not being able to go out!!!!

OP posts:
Thumbwitch · 08/09/2011 00:02

Another one down! :(

sooo - it's me, Eralc and HFD left - what do you think ladies - shall we go ahead as planned or re-schedule for another friday, maybe next week?
I'm happy either way :)

abithormonal · 08/09/2011 00:10

We go almpst weekly sometimes anyway so we'd be fone the week after, also the wildlifwe centre next door is opening up again next monday

OP posts:
Thumbwitch · 08/09/2011 00:12

Oh has it been closed? I didn't know that - have they been re-furbing it or something?

abithormonal · 08/09/2011 00:16

btw I was being attacked by the young fella trying to insert my keys between my calves on that last message, he is so not acting sick

OP posts:
abithormonal · 08/09/2011 00:17

yeah a refurb, big relaunch for pass holders on Saturday, yet another thing that DS can't go to now and will instead have to stay inside and drive me nuts

OP posts:
Eralc · 08/09/2011 02:24

I'd be happy to delay - we're still not 100% and would almost certainly be better in a weeks time.

Thumbwitch · 08/09/2011 02:55

OK, I've had a text message from HighFibreDiet as well saying she's happy to delay so it's official:
NEW MEET UP DATE: FRIDAY 16th SEPTEMBER at 11:30 at the Aquarium.

Hope you're all better by then! (And I stay well this time Wink)

sunnydelight · 08/09/2011 08:25

Hope all the sick people get better soon, my two youngest have just gone back to school after yet another round of cold/flu type things (complicated by the fact that I am now working).

I wasn't planning on coming to the Aquarium Thumb, my youngest is 8 so my days of mooching with toddlers are long past. My parenting dramas these days are more along the lines of trying to ensure my 18yo remains focused long enough to make it through his upcoming HSC exams. If you are organizing anything involving lots of wine and absolutely no children though let me know Grin

Thumbwitch · 08/09/2011 09:10

Sure will, Sunny! I'm sure we can manage to fit another one in before Christmas, can't we? (I know there's only just over 3m to go but best to start thinking about it early, hey)

bunnygirl80 · 08/09/2011 11:16

Well, DS is much better but I've gone and caught the plague from him Sad

Not sure we'll make next Friday - I'm starting an extra day of work, which means DS will have an extra day of not napping at daycare, so I don't know what state he'll be in by Friday. I'll see how he is on the day, so don't wait around for us - we'll just come and find you all if we manage to make it.

The Baby and Toddler show is on from the 30th Sept if anyone's up for browsing useless overpriced crap essential baby and toddler equipment? Actually, last year they had some great deals on cloth nappies, if anyone other than me is into that sort of thing (I only bought them to save money vs disposables but am now addicted to buying cute ones with different patterns so I suspect the total money saved is now close to $0 Grin)

sunny I'm definitely up for a no kids/copious wine meet up. Good luck with the HSC Smile

Eralc · 08/09/2011 13:34

Ooo yes - a no children/lots of wine meetup would be good (am no longer bf DS2, and so I can now drink without limits, and leave him with DH - hooray!)

Thumbwitch · 08/09/2011 14:20

bunny, I am a clothy user but MIL made all DS's, apart from a few motherease terry ones that I was given by friends.

I am also definitely up for a vinous childfree day out - let us attempt to find a date when we can all make it then!

Bunny, hope your plague goes away and it would be lovely to see you next week but will understand if you can't make it.

Eralc · 13/09/2011 04:53

Urgh - DS2 has come down with a really croupy sounding cough. Am hoping he will have recovered by Friday, but not convinced. Am so fed up with being ill - it seems to have been one thing after another since the beginning of August.

Thumbwitch · 13/09/2011 04:59

Eralc, one of the mums at my playgroup swears by colloidal silver (from health food shops) - as soon as hers start anything, she doses them and away it goes. They've been so much less ill since she started using it, you'd think she had shares in the company, she promotes it so much! Anyway, up to you, might be worth a go?
