@kro thank you! I find out Tuesday I think! Will let you all know!

good luck to you 🤞! Not sure if my clinics going to want to do down reg with me or not, but have a consultation in 3 weeks to discuss a plan, hopefully we’ll be able to go ahead soon after that!

CloudyIvy55 · 18/08/2025 20:23

Hey everyone,

Would love to join! I was in the August FET group but it turns out my tww will most likely roll into September.

A bit of background. It's our first NHS funded IVF cycle, unexplained infertility, we have four frozen embryos.

On a medicated fet. Had my first scan last Thursday, all looked good so far and my second scan is this Thursday and I'm hopeful my transfer will be soon after that! I've been fairly calm so far but my anxiety and nerves are growing!

Peonies94 · 18/08/2025 20:30

@CloudyIvy55 great number in the freezer! Good luck!

jenk91 · 19/08/2025 11:52

Good luck @CloudyIvy55 ! 💫💫

I just had baseline scan, will stop provera at the weekend so I think it’s looking like my transfer will be around 10th September, all things going well

Peonies94 · 19/08/2025 12:42

Four frozen and keeping an an eye on 2 more! Think I’ll be starting meds this cycle but actually the FET will likely take place October depending on what protocol they put me on!

Kr0 · 19/08/2025 15:51

@Peonies94 that’s great news! So pleased for you.

glad all good so far @CloudyIvy55 @jenk91

Hi everyone - please may I join the gang? We’re getting ready for FET in September, this is our first cycle (NHS) and we have three frozen embryos after PGT-M and PGT-A testing.

I’ve started taking Buserelin each morning and just waiting for my next cycle to start. I had a bit of a wobble a couple of weeks ago but feeling much more positive now that I’ve started daily injections as feels like we’re moving forward!

I think we’ll be mid-Sep for transfer. Lovely to see some familiar usernames and wishing everyone the best of luck!

Kr0 · 20/08/2025 13:18

@Gosia19 great to have you! Hope the injections are not too bad!

CloudyIvy55 · 21/08/2025 15:35

Had my second scan this morning and my transfer is now booked for Wednesday! Can't believe I'm finally at this stage... nervous and excited!

Mamafromtheblock · 21/08/2025 18:41

That’s so exciting @CloudyIvy55! Good luck and hope all goes well!

Gosia19 · 22/08/2025 12:38

Great news @CloudyIvy55 - best of luck, I’ll be thinking of you!! ☺️

So exciting! Just curious- what are the injections for? I should be having a FET on my next cycle (period due any day now) but have not been told to take any medication before this?

Hi lovely! I’ve been taking Buserelin since day 21 of my last cycle. I’ll be taking oestrogen from today I think (at the clinic waiting for appointment now!), but this will be tablets and pessaries. Then I will stop Buserelin and start Lubion injections during the middle of my cycle.

It’s my first cycle and my clinic seem to go quite heavy with the medication… not really sure what to expect so going with it for now. I’ve heard lots of other people with different protocols so sounds like it can be really variable.

Do you know if you’re having natural or medicated?

Its crazy how different each clinic is!! Sorry if I have missed this, but when did you period start? And will it be your current cycle?
All i know is i need go in on the 1st day of my.period and then they will tell me there!! Not sure if it is medicated or natural, but surely they would be going for the natural if i haven't been given any medication yet?!

My period started yesterday afternoon, my clinic counts the first day as ‘full flow before 1pm’ so today is Day 1 for me.

Ah I’m not sure sorry, learning as I go! It is a bit of a rollercoaster having to try and plan life and not knowing stuff in advance… then it often changes based on what your body is doing! I had a nurse consultation about a month before starting my Buserelin and they gave me a rough timetable and ordered my medication. Is there someone you could email/call and ask?

I wonder if your plan is natural transfer and then only medicate if it looks like anything needs some help? That’s a total guess, I have no medical training and never done FET before! Maybe one of the wiser ladies on this thread might know a bit better than me. How are you feeling about it?

Kr0 · 22/08/2025 16:24

I’m doing a medicated cycle but couldn’t downreg this time because I still had a follicle. So I started oestrogen from day 2 of my period and it was just tablets and progesterone only pessaries too. I had discussed medicated at my consultant appointment because I don’t ovulate regularly. But if you wanted to do it I’m sure they could start you off on it after your day 1 scan.

MyAgileZebra · 22/08/2025 16:49

My period started yesterday too, I started Ganirelix and inhixa injections and 3 x oestrogen tablets.

I guess every clinic is different 🤷🏼‍♀️. This is my first FET too and first time with the blood thinners.

Mamafromtheblock · 22/08/2025 18:51

Hi@Coffeechocolatebooks123 i have done the same protocol as @Gosia19 before. It involves two cycles - the first one you “down regulate” using buserelin injections which puts your body into a mini artificial menopause and then in the second cycle you stop the bruserelin and introduce estrogen and then progesterone to prepare your body for transfer. I was told that this protocol has been shown to be particularly effective for women with endometriosis.
I think your clinic would have told you by now if you were following this protocol but who knows! Hope this helped 😃

I only started my buserelin injections yesterday so transfer is a few weeks away still for me!

CloudyIvy55 · 22/08/2025 18:58

I'm on a medicated cycle. I did 5 days of injections with Ovamex starting on Day 2 of this cycle, and then estrogen tablets since. Start progesterone this evening which is 6 days before my transfer.... I think that everyone's clinics and personal situations are so different that it's hard to compare medication - I'm just trusting that my clinic has got it right for me, as that's all I can do really!

But saying that @Coffeechocolatebooks123 I think you should definitely know if your on a medicated or natural cycle, I would ask your clinic. I was given the choice but I think some clinics/personal circumstances mean that some women are always put on a medicated cycle.

Peonies94 · 22/08/2025 21:08

We’re not sure what protocol we’re doing yet! We have our planning appt in 2 weeks, so I guess out transfer will probably actually be October but hopefully starting medication in September! Just keen to get started now!
@CloudyIvy55 not long to go now, wishing you the best of luck!

Peonies94 · 24/08/2025 19:49

So I have my planning appointment for my FET in a little over a week! I’m told following this I’ll meet with the nurse, who will then order my meds in/give prescription! I can’t book the nurse appointment in until I’ve had the dr one, but the nurse is just to explain more details about meds I guess! Seems annoying that I can’t get the meds in between dr and nurse, and obviously not start anything until I see them! But now have to wait they said roughly 2 weeks after dr for nurse appt, then the wait for meds etc on top of this! Seems to be overly dragging it out, but curious Jas this been the case for anyone else?

alsoc curious what people have paid for FET meds or they don’t mind saying? Our first FET and not sure what protocol yet!

MyAgileZebra · 24/08/2025 22:32

I had the same, had to see the consultant then wait for the nurses appointment despite already knowing what meds I was going to have. I didn't have to wait too long but would have meant having to wait another month as my period was due on the same day as my nurses appointment. Thankfully my period was late so all worked out well.

I'm NHS but they sent me an invoice for £717 for all my meds. I'm on short protocol.

Peonies94 · 25/08/2025 04:28

@MyAgileZebra glsd to know it is something that is done though! Just seems strange, especially that they’re posting the prescription to me after the nurse, I mean surely they could post it after the dr and then I’d have it in time for after the nurse!
thank you! That’s my issue, it’s going to land just after a cycle which is frustrating!

AlmostTime · 25/08/2025 10:05

I think this will probably be the case for me too.

My consultant appointment is on cycle day 14, which leaves only 2 weeks until my natural period is due to see the nurse and issue meds in time to get started. I’m never late so I’ll just have to wait again I think as its going to be very tight if there are multiple appointments needed.

I was prescribed ultrogestan to take after egg retrieval, in case we did a fresh transfer. We didn’t, so I still have boxes of it, hopefully that will be the prescription again so I won’t have to arrange for or wait for a pharmacy delivery.

Peonies94 · 25/08/2025 20:30

@AlmostTime its frustrating isn’t it!🫠 always seems to be annoying timing! 🤞 everything happens quickly and it’s not as slow as we’re expecting!
