I thought I would start a thread for those scheduled for a FET in May.

Had egg collection in Feb, feels like forever ago now.

I have just started a medicated FET cycle. Started taking norethisterone today. Provisional transfer scheduled for May 27th.

Anyone else on a similar timeline?

Thanks @camelinastorm it’s our fourth transfer but 1st FET and it’s a little different I guess. Had my ultrasound and have been told 9 days too. Which is exciting!

Anniekent1 · 28/04/2025 05:55

good luck @OneQuirkyPanda on your scan today xx

Thank you, just got back from the scan, my lining is 8.7mm so they have booked the transfer for 6th May, I’m excited but also half expecting something bad to happen and it not to go ahead as that is usually the case with us!

Anniekent1 · 28/04/2025 11:49

@OneQuirkyPanda brilliant news. We also got the all clear and I was exact same fully preparing myself for it to be cancelled like the other cycles. We are also the 6th so will start progesterone this Thursday eeek. Flip between excited and terrified as it could mean everything or the end of the road in just a few weeks.

mumtrovert · 28/04/2025 11:59

Hi everyone!

Hoping to join you guys, although will be a little later in May. Currently waiting for AF so I can start, should be around 8th May. So I’m assuming transfer would be towards the end of May?

I had IVF in 2022 which luckily was successful with a fresh transfer & my little boy is 2.5yo. Hoping to be just as lucky but my expectations are low as I just don’t think we can be that lucky again. Fingers crossed. It’s great to read about the embryo grading convo here because my other frozen embryos are lower than what my DS was.

Good luck to everyone! x

OneQuirkyPanda · 28/04/2025 13:04

@Anniekent1 excellent news! Will you be using pessaries? I’m not sure how I’m going to get on doing mine three times a day as I work in hospital and I’ve been told I need to sit down for 20-30 mins after putting it in.

Anniekent1 · 28/04/2025 13:09

@OneQuirkyPanda yes pessaries 3x a day and also a lubion injection as well as I was concerned about previous spotting / short lutuel phase. Exactly I also heard there is a lot of leakage with the pessaries as well so not pleasant and rectally there is less for this ?? So maybe when you’re at work that may be an option. God the things we put ourselves through. All be worth it though ! 🤞

OneQuirkyPanda · 28/04/2025 14:15

@Anniekent1 what does the lubion do? Is it more progesterone? I have a lot of spotting as well, but I put it down to the endo as my blood tests always showed normal hormone levels. Will you be having your progesterone checked prior to the FET? My clinic hasn’t mentioned it to me.

I know right! I keep telling myself that hope it’s all worth it in the end.

Anniekent1 · 28/04/2025 14:17

@OneQuirkyPandayes additional progesterone but just through injections rather than pessaries. I’ll have a blood test the day before so next Monday. If it’s too low they have warned they will cancel the cycle so hoping it’s all okay. Keep me updated with how you feel with the progesterone and how you get on this week !

OneQuirkyPanda · 28/04/2025 14:22

@Anniekent1 I will ask about checking my progesterone because it’s not been mentioned and I want to make sure it’s at a good level given my spotting.

Thank you! Let me know how you get on too :)

Anniekent1 · 28/04/2025 14:28

@OneQuirkyPandadefinitky asked. Learnt you have to very much advocate for yourself on this journey. I only got the lubion after pushing the doctors quite a few times to check my progesterone. Otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered.

x

camelinastorm · 28/04/2025 14:45

@OneQuirkyPanda my clinic automatically put you on the injections alongside the pessaries, tbh though they don't check any levels before transferring so strange how clinics are so different I start injections next week for transfer on the 9th also will be on antibiotics and steroids the week before

spamOFtheDAY · 28/04/2025 15:27

Hi ladies - had my scan today too and booked in for ET next Wednesday afternoon so looks like a few of us are similar

I’ll also be on lubion, prednisolone, aspirin. Tanzaparin - so much stuff!

I think I only have 2 estradiol left and Asda don’t have any in stock
I’ll go and search my cupboard but wondering if I used 2 estrogen patches instead of 1 to keep me going until I can get some 🤷‍♀️

FrostedFlake · 28/04/2025 15:27

@Anniekent1 @OneQuirkyPanda awh I think I’m one day behind you as I’m provisionally booked in for Wednesday 7th but they want to scan me again this Wednesday to be sure I am ready for the trigger shot.
That seems like a lot of progesterone, I wonder if I should be taking more. I’m on Lubion injections twice a day but also have to take steroids, blood thinners and baby aspirin on top of my normal meds 😅 I feel like I will run out of spots on my belly to inject myself in no time.

Oh my gosh, we are protocol twins ☺️ and have the same transfer date!!
im a little nervous about my scan this Wednesday as earlier today they said they probably won’t scan me but wanted to get my bloods done so I wonder if something changed.

Anniekent1 · 28/04/2025 15:33

@FrostedFlakeeek so close though. It’s crazy how every clinic is so different which I suppose makes sense as every case is so individual but hopefully we have lots of luck and we all get our positives. I heard that spring / summer IVF results in higher positives maybe due to the vitamin d and longer days but whatever the reason I’m taking it alongside every other good juju out there

FrostedFlake · 28/04/2025 15:55

@Anniekent1 and I definitely believe that! We’ve had three transfers so far and two of them were in January and both ended in miscarriage. However my May transfer resulted in our beautiful Valentine’s Day baby ❤️ so I’m hoping this time of year for whatever reason makes us have sticky little embryos 🙌🏻

Anniekent1 · 28/04/2025 16:02

@FrostedFlakesorry for your previous losses that must have been hard. Have everything crossed and please keep us updated with your scans and how your feeling. Love that these forums gives us an avenue to talk to people who actually get it and understand all the emotions and rollarcoaster feelings that we wouldn’t be able to share otherwise x

Cesas · 28/04/2025 16:14

Hey! Just wanted to join in too. My period started yesterday, so have a scan day 10 (a week tomorrow) for a modified natural cycle. This will be my 4th transfer all others BFN.

In terms of the progesterone chat, my clinic will not do a blood test for this (I've asked multiple times as I have spotted every trasnfer). Their response is that progesterone levels change and vary throughout the day so it's not worth testing. I think they are putting me on additional progesterone this time but not 100% sure!

Ha ha! At least we know they’re not just making up any old protocol!

thats good you’re getting blood tests/scan - I haven’t had any bloods since before my EC

how are you feeling about ET next week?

I can’t decide whether to try to think positive or be realistic and not get my hopes up

FrostedFlake · 28/04/2025 21:22

its great that we are pretty much on the same one as it seems like there’s a lot of meds and injections but as long as it makes the little embryo stick I really don’t mind. Are you taking 10mg Prednisolone up until the transfer and then 20mg post transfer? Also not sure why but I’ve also been prescribed a calcium supplement. One of the drugs must deplete calcium from the system I guess?

how are you feeling about next week? I’m not sure how to feel to be honest. There’s also the added worry of them potentially not making it through the thawing process which we didn’t have with fresh cycles. But I can’t believe that if all goes well in three weeks we will know if we are pregnant or not.
Have you done many rounds before this one?

spamOFtheDAY · 28/04/2025 22:02

@FrostedFlakeAh that’s interesting about the calcium - I haven’t been told anything about that
I might make sure there’s a high dose in my multi vit
Are you taking any other supplements?

I can’t remember the dose of prednisolone but I think I only start taking it after transfer - I’d better check!

this will be my 4th transfer and 6th embryo (had 2 doubles) on my 3rd round
all BFNs I think my egg quality just be poor as done get very good quality blasts (2 ungraded, 1 3AA, and 3BC & 5BC) which is why I don’t have much hope for this one. It was the only one we got this round 🙁

I see you’ve had a few rounds already. It’s so tough isn’t it - what’s your experience been so far?

camelinastorm · 29/04/2025 07:22

@spamOFtheDAY @FrostedFlake yes there is quite a few of us with early half of the month transfers, I am also on steroids the week before then after transfer @spamOFtheDAY I am also on my 5th transfer 3 of these being double transfers, one result chemical one miscarriage, these are our last ever two as now I'm quite old and doubt I'll get any more eggs for a full Ned round

OneQuirkyPanda · 29/04/2025 13:10

The clinic called me this morning and said they wanted to repeat bloods before the FET on Tuesday, as my bloods are over three months old now. I immediately thought they’re probably going to come back abnormal and it will be cancelled, as that’s just my luck!

I was starting to get excited as I didn’t have any more scans or tests before the FET, so felt like it was actually happening. I should have asked what blood tests they’re doing, but didn’t expect the call so forgot to ask.

Blueskycat · 29/04/2025 14:05

Good luck to all the May early birds, sounds like there are quite a few transfers set for next week!

Hi @mumtrovert , I think I’ll be similar timings to you- just had a baseline scan today (all looks ok phew), and I’m expecting my period early next week too.
So good to hear about your previous success, wishing for a repeat performance for you.
This will be my first transfer (my egg collection in Feb was a freeze all), nervous about surviving the dreaded TWW…

OneQuirkyPanda · 29/04/2025 14:45

Is anyone planning on testing early and if so on what day? I see a lot of people on TikTok testing from day 3, but I’m worried if I see negatives I will spiral even though I know it could just be too early, but then also I’m very impatient so the thought of waiting two weeks is really hard!
