May 2025 FET

I thought I would start a thread for those scheduled for a FET in May.

Had egg collection in Feb, feels like forever ago now.

I have just started a medicated FET cycle. Started taking norethisterone today. Provisional transfer scheduled for May 27th.

Anyone else on a similar timeline?

@mumtrovert that’s exciting!! Makes sense to replicate everything when you had success last time. No harm in a bit of superstition 😁

I’m impatiently waiting for CD1, think it will be tomorrow… then I’ll call my clinic and get a date for my lining scan.

@StillTrying10000 it’s my first FET so others will have more info but I think it varies depending on what protocol you have. My understanding is that the embryo needs to be replaced when your womb & lining are at the same stage as though the embryo had been developing in there all along… so if it’s a 5 day embryo, your lining needs to look like around 5 days after ovulation (so around cd19). But there are different protocols to achieve that…
I had norethisterone from cd21 to induce a bleed, then taking estradiol tablets from cd2, transfer should be around cd19 (day 5 embryo).

StillTrying10000 · 05/05/2025 18:55

@Blueskycat thank you. So as I don’t know what cycle day I am I guess I just take norethisterone and hope that brings on a bleed and go from there. It’s my 8th embryo transfer but never when I haven’t had periods so it’s weird to feel so clueless again after feeling like a veteran!

Blueskycat · 05/05/2025 20:28

@StillTrying10000 ah I see, yes sounds like it would make sense if they use norethisterone but frustrating that your clinic hasn’t told you more… there is enough uncertainty in this process as it is!

Blueskycat · 06/05/2025 09:07

Sending all the good luck for your transfer today @OneQuirkyPanda

CD1 for me today, glad to be one step closer…

OneQuirkyPanda · 06/05/2025 09:10

@Blueskycat thank you! Just on our way to the clinic now eeek!

mumtrovert · 06/05/2025 13:06

Good luck @OneQuirkyPanda !

Yaaay to CD1 @Blueskycat do you have a provisional transfer date yet?

OneQuirkyPanda · 06/05/2025 13:08

Transfer went really well, the consultant said it’s a good job I had sedation because I didn’t tolerate the speculum well at all and they had to increase the sedation. My lining was 9.4mm and she said it looked great, so fingers crossed!

Blueskycat · 06/05/2025 17:09

Ah really glad to hear it went well @OneQuirkyPanda 💕 Hope you’re recovering ok from the sedation and procedure. Sounds like everything was as it should be, best of luck!

I think there are a few more people with transfers this week too? Hope you’re all doing ok and any prep/tests are going as planned.

@mumtrovert my lining scan is booked for May 16th, they didn’t give a potential transfer date but I understand it will be about a week afterwards so maybe May 22nd or 23rd (all being well)? Very similar to your dates I think! It’s starting to feel more real now ahh…

mumtrovert · 06/05/2025 20:03

@Blueskycat it’s nice to be going through it with someone at the same stage. Hope we’re both lucky this time 🙏🏼

@OneQuirkyPanda glad everything went well with your transfer. 9.4mm lining sounds great!

PixieJxoxo · 06/05/2025 20:20

@juju90 ahh, congratulations! So pleased for you!

@Blueskycat thank you! Weirdly the first 5 days have flown by (luckily the bank holiday weekend meant family plans for a few days), but I know from tomorrow, I'll be itching to test! I know 6dp5dt might be a little early still, but at least I'm working from home so a stark white test may be easier to process.

@OneQuirkyPanda Great that your transfer went well! Hopefully the next 2 weeks whizz by for you!

Anniekent1 · 07/05/2025 05:03

@OneQuirkyPanda so glad your transfer went well

i also had my transfer yesterday and then also got the news my best friend pregnant with her second. As I’m sure you ladies understand this came with mixed emotions so was a bit of a rollercoaster of a day. Now beating myself of for cortisol stress harming things. God it’s so hard

slso is anyone who is in prep mode / transfer mode finding that they are struggling to sleep. I am having the worst insomnia and waking up so early. Not sure if it’s with everything going on or the medication

camelinastorm · 07/05/2025 06:30

@Anniekent1 yes the insomnia is brutal I have been taking melatonin, I'm sure it must be linked to the medication as every round I've had the same

FrostedFlake · 07/05/2025 09:01

@camelinastorm I think magnesium is also meant to relax you and help you sleep but not sure if it’s safe while going through the treatment/pregnancy. Probably is.

I got my progesterone taken yesterday and thankfully they are at a high enough level for us to have our transfer late this afternoon.
I really hope the little embryo thaws okay ❤️

anyone else doing the FET today?

Anniekent1 · 07/05/2025 09:11

@camelinastormits the worst isn’t it. And then you worry as you’re told to rest and get lots of sleep.

@FrostedFlakegreat news about your progesterone. Another small step towards it. Wishing you all the luck today hope it goes well x

OneQuirkyPanda · 07/05/2025 09:58

@Anniekent1 glad your transfer went well! No insomnia for me, but had lots of period like cramps yesterday and constant lower back pain, felt a weird pinching feeling yesterday evening, but I’m assuming it’s just from the transfer as it’s so early.

@FrostedFlake good luck with your transfer today!

FrostedFlake · 07/05/2025 10:50

Congrats on your transfers yesterday @OneQuirkyPanda and @Anniekent1! How are you feeling? When do you think you will test?

@spamOFtheDAY how are you getting on? Is your transfer today too?

OneQuirkyPanda · 07/05/2025 11:10

@FrostedFlake I feel good, I feel a lot more positive than I expected to, it’s strange, I go between feeling like it’s definitely going to work most of the time to feeling like I’m deluding myself and it won’t.

Have a bit of a headache this morning and an a bit of aching like I’m due a period, but other than that feel fine. I’m not sure tbh, I said to my wife that if I feel like I’m pregnant I will test early, if not then I think on day 8, as should be fairly conclusive by then.

How are you feeling? What time is your transfer?

Anniekent1 · 07/05/2025 11:53

@FrostedFlake@OneQuirkyPanda I literally feel no different at all. Genuinely can’t even imagine it working after so long of trying and negative tests so not sure how I feel.

Will prob wait till a week Saturday 17th as OTD is 18th which seems so far but I almost have trauma of taking tests so tbh I don’t really want to take a test!

@spamOFtheDAY how are you getting on? Is your transfer today too?

Hi! Yes, thanks for remembering - transfer this afternoon - wish it was morning and done by now! I stressing about when to drink during my meetings today!

thats great yours is going ahead today too 👍🏻
have you got the day off?

what will you do afterwards? Any tips from anyone?
I think I’ll go for a walk before a hairdressers appointment ☺️

FrostedFlake · 07/05/2025 14:55

@spamOFtheDAY I’m the same, really wish it was earlier in the day as mine isn’t until 4:30. Such a long wait! I have taken most of the day off as felt like I needed to be distracted with work otherwise it would have been a looong day! What time is your transfer at? Have you started any new medication today?
i think ill start drinking on my way to the clinic as in the past I’ve been in agony and had to go pee as my bladder was too full. I’d rather keep sipping water when I get there.

@Anniekent1 to be honest I’ve felt more pregnant when the transfers didn’t work out in the end and I miscarried compared to when we had our DS. I had no symptoms with him which I thought was a bad sign but I guess every pregnancy is so different.

it’s great that you will hold off, I wish I had the willpower but I usually test very early. I’d rather just know.

@OneQuirkyPanda that’s great, I think a positive attitude makes the process so much easier but we always have doubts don’t we, as this process is so stressful and unpredictable. I wish I was one of those people who didn’t get their period and realised they were pregnant. The bliss of being unaware of all the hardships that so many people have to go through to even have a chance of getting pregnant.

Anniekent1 · 07/05/2025 15:06

@FrostedFlake ahh such a long wait for you I’m sorry. The bladder is the worst. Mine was also half hour late so by the time they strapped me in I couldn’t even think about anything apart from peeing on her poor hand

I’m going to really try and not symptom spot as tbh my body feels so out of wack with months of medication I wouldn’t even know what’s normal and what’s not anymore. And holding off testing is more trying to delay heartache of a negative test than strong will power.

I have such huge respect for any woman who goes through this journey it’s such a mental battle and stress that whatever we each do to survive is the complete right thing. Least we have each other to tell the weird and wonderful thoughts and experiences of the day

spamOFtheDAY · 08/05/2025 09:03

@FrostedFlake
@FrostedFlakeHow did it go?

I now have to take Tinzaparin, aspirin and prednisolone on top of the lubion, suppositories and oestrogen - SO many things to remember!

are you on anything new now?

FrostedFlake · 08/05/2025 10:29

@spamOFtheDAY I’ve started blood thinners yesterday as well and taking progesterone (injections) twice a day as well as prednisone 20mg and calcichew. Back on aspirin post pregnancy test if it’s positive.

im really bruising with every single injection this time around for some reason. Any tips or advice?
Also how painful are the blood inners, I couldn’t get the needle to go through my belly skin for some reason so did it in my leg. The needle seems soo thick 😢

how’s everyone feeling today? Any more transfers coming up?

I really struggled with the blood thinner too - I’m
Glad you said that and it’s not just me. I was in a bit of a rush when doing it so ended up just ramming it in

i guess the bruising could be due to the blood thinners so not much we can do about that 🤷‍♀️

Me too, I am quite envious of people who just get to DTD and then find out they are pregnant, would be so nice!

How are you feeling after your transfer?

I had a lot of cramps yesterday, a headache and feeling really tired, then I had a hot flush and felt faint while shopping yesterday afternoon. I’m assuming it’s just the progesterone/side effects of the transfer, but it’s hard not to read too much into everything. I’ve had less cramps today, but still have a headache and feel tired. Fighting the urge not to test early.
