I thought I would start a thread for those scheduled for a FET in May.

Had egg collection in Feb, feels like forever ago now.

I have just started a medicated FET cycle. Started taking norethisterone today. Provisional transfer scheduled for May 27th.

Anyone else on a similar timeline?

Is anyone planning on testing early and if so on what day? I see a lot of people on TikTok testing from day 3, but I’m worried if I see negatives I will spiral even though I know it could just be too early, but then also I’m very impatient so the thought of waiting two weeks is really hard!

I’ve told myself I won’t test (too!) early again as, like you said, it just made me spiral and feel absolutely miserable when I’ve tested daily from day 5.
I would still continue to have to take meds, so figured maybe as well wait and try to enjoy the PUPO bubble as long as possible

I think this time I’ll wait until day 9 (maybe 8) as I think you can be pretty sure it is an accurate result by that point

im going to hide all tests and tell my husband the plan so hopefully I don’t go against my word!!

what are you thinking?

@spamOFtheDAY @FrostedFlake yes there is quite a few of us with early half of the month transfers, I am also on steroids the week before then after transfer @spamOFtheDAY I am also on my 5th transfer 3 of these being double transfers, one result chemical one miscarriage, these are our last ever two as now I'm quite old and doubt I'll get any more eggs for a full Ned round

Ah gosh it sounds like you’ve had a rough journey with your losses 😞
how old are you if you don’t mind me asking?
I said this would be my last go but I’ve already started googling clinics in London for maybe “1 last try” but not sure I can put myself through this, emotionally and financially…..

I have no idea, this is my first transfer and I’m a very impatient and anxious person, so although I would like to wait until day 8 as I read if it’s fairly conclusive by then, I feel like I could end up testing early 🙈

mumtrovert · 29/04/2025 16:47

Glad your scan went well today @Blueskycat! I have a habit of having random long cycles so hoping this one won’t be one of them and we’ll be on the same timeline. The tww is hell.. just try to keep yourself busy and distracted. Have a day that you agree to test on and stick to it. Keep a countdown, one day at a time. I got a nice line 8dp5dt last time so I’m sticking to that same day this time around. Hoping first time lucky for you too ♥️

FrostedFlake · 29/04/2025 21:12

I have always tested early and I don’t think I will have the strength in me not to test early again as I’d rather just know one way or another and my clinic don’t get us to test until 14 days post transfer which is just waaay too long.

Is anyone taking Cetrotide and if so do you have a rash and hives at the injection site and does it really itch? I forgot how much I dislike it 🥹

hows everyone feeling today?

camelinastorm · 30/04/2025 07:49

My clinics test day is day 5 😬😬 I feel it's so soon last time I waited until day 7 and only did a test as they were asking me to

Wow I’ve not heard of a clinic saying to test that early
most seem to make you wait unnecessarily long!

camelinastorm · 30/04/2025 08:58

@spamOFtheDAY mine is overseas they seem to do things slightly different to the UK,

Miraclemuma03 · 30/04/2025 10:09

I think i need to find a way to give myself a bit of a confidence booster. Since my failed cycle iv been feeling quite low and second guessing whether we should actually try again or not.

Cesas · 30/04/2025 10:18

Wow day 5 test date is so early. If its a 5 day transfer that equivalent to 10dpo! My clinic is 15days past 5 day transfer which I've always tested before. I try to wait til at least day 9 x

FrostedFlake · 30/04/2025 10:50

I mean I’ve always tested myself on day 5 as I’m impatient but it’s interesting how different clinics/countries do things slightly differently.

what’s everyone’s plan for transfer day? Are you taking it fully off or just a few hours?

OneQuirkyPanda · 30/04/2025 13:12

@FrostedFlake I’m having sedation for mine as I really struggle with the speculum during smears due to pain from endo and I have a retroverted uterus, so may be a tricky transfer. I have the day off and have booked the following day off work too as I’m allowed 5 days of leave per cycle. What have you planned?

camelinastorm · 30/04/2025 13:15

@FrostedFlake my day of transfer I normally rest but this time I'm having to fly back to the UK at midnight due to work commitments on the Sunday 🙄

FrostedFlake · 30/04/2025 13:56

@OneQuirkyPanda that sounds very painful! I hope you aren’t too sore afterwards ❤️
that’s one quick visit but needs must @camelinastorm , would your transfer be early on in the day? They do say to stay mobile and to go on about your day as normal so I’m sure traveling back same day will be perfect event though I’m sure you probably wanted some more time to rest after it.

work give me time off too but I’m not sure how I feel about telling my manager we are going again as I’m only back from Mat leave and thinking about just taking the day or the transfer off.

camelinastorm · 30/04/2025 14:00

@FrostedFlake yes generally it's at 11am ish so will have the full day to rest up before driving to the airport at 10pm

FrostedFlake · 30/04/2025 19:21

That’s not too bad @camelinastorm ! Our clinic do them in the late afternoon and fresh transfers in the morning.

Eeek I’ve just administered the trigger shot ☺️ the countdown to the transfer is on! Hopefully my bloods are okay next Tuesday and the thawing process goes well.

how long in advance do they usually thsaw the embryos?

mumtrovert · 30/04/2025 21:02

5 days is early! Funny how things vary. I’m sure last time that our official test date was like 12/14 days, soooo long. Kudos to anyone holding out that long.

How exciting @FrostedFlake! Fingers crossed everything goes okay before transfer. Not sure on the thawing, I feel like my clinic said they did it the morning of the transfer, with transfer in the afternoon.. but I can’t remember for sure.
I’ll definitely take the day off on transfer day but go back to work the next day. It’ll be a good distraction if nothing else. Our transfer last time was on a Sunday and I was back in work on the Monday.

uhhuhyeahok · 01/05/2025 15:01

Hi everyone, hope its ok to join you. I think I recognise some usernames from other threads earlier in the year. We did a fresh cycle in Jan but no transfer as I got OHSS, this will be my second FET, the one we did before was unsuccessful.

Hopefully transferring later in the month, my period is due at the weekend, I've ordered the meds today. I'll be doing estradiol and then pessaries (hate those so much) and supplementing with pronotgest at the same time, as my progesterone was a little low last time.

I didn't test early last time, and was so devasted to get a negative so maybe this time I will to manage my expectations.

Good luck to everyone with imminent scans or transfers!

mumtrovert · 01/05/2025 15:46

Good luck this time around @uhhuhyeahoksorry to hear your last transfer wasn’t successful. I think I’ll be around a week behind you, thinking AF will start late next week.

SamVan · 01/05/2025 23:24

hi all, this is my fourth transfer. Recognise some of the names from previous months. My doc wants to add intralipids and steroids for elevated nk cells but I’m not sure there’s enough evidence to support this and Hfea marks the use of steroids as red. Just curious to know for the ladies who are on this protocol how they decided to proceed? I’m so conflicted about what to do.

camelinastorm · 02/05/2025 07:26

@SamVan I am on steroids this transfer and my previous one, they are wanting to add intralipids this time but I'm not convinced with the intralipids as there doesn't seem much supportive evidence that I've found, so hard all the different things they want to keep trying, however this is my last fet as none left after this one

FrostedFlake · 02/05/2025 08:09

@SamVan its also our 4th transfer ☺️ this time around Im on steroids, blood thinners and aspirin as well as medication for an auto immune condition I developed after giving birth.

our consultant never mentioned lipids, what are they used for?

Cesas · 02/05/2025 09:42

I'm also on my fourth transfer too! We are not on any additional medication as our clinic don't recommend anything. It's so hard to make a decision, I have also looked into this but there doesn't seem to be amount of evidence supporting this.

good luck to you all x

FrostedFlake · 02/05/2025 10:48

@Cesas i think sometimes they throw everything at it just in case and looking at my new protocol there are so many additional meds and I’m not sure how good all of it is for me.
evidence in relation to the lipids or steroids? Or both?

PixieJxoxo · 02/05/2025 14:14

I had my FET yesterday and all went well. It was a Day 5 3B+B- blastocyst so fingers crossed, though I know at this point there's very little that I can do to affect the outcome (I say that after a freakout this morning because I woke up SO hot in the night because of the weather and convinced myself I'd ruined the embryo by overheating). OTD is the 15th which seems an age away - definitely don't think I'll last until then, but hoping to last until at least 8dp5dt (whether that happens is another story and I may start testing from 5dp).

Good luck everyone - wishing those who are waiting for CD1 a speedy period and a smooth process to transfer!
