Hi all ☺️

I have had an IVF round in November and had a freeze all cycle. I have had a meeting with the consultant this morning and will be doing a FET in late December/early Jan.

Please join this thread if you are on a similar timescale πŸ’«

Same situation here, @Cosyseason1234 , my FET is expected approximately January 22nd :) Excited to be buddies!

cleggrickman · 11/12/2024 04:40

Snap. I hope you don't mind me joining. I start my norethisterone on the 22nd of this month. Looking at a double FET around 22nd January. Feeling all types of ways! We had a successful fresh cycle in 2017 which created my dd who is now 7 and after a whirlwind couple of years with health scares, and 2 failed transfers we are hoping this time it works!

SlinkMcSlink · 11/12/2024 05:54

I’ll join. I wanted a December transfer but there are closures over Xmas so I’ll be January instead. Finding this so hard waiting even longer and wanting Xmas out of the way already. This will be my second transfer as I had one in September that failed.

Cosyseason1234 · 11/12/2024 14:34

Welcome @cleggrickman sorry to hear about your failed transfers, got everything crossed that this is your lucky one 🀞 I have a DS who is 8 so similar to you ☺️

Welcome @SlinkMcSlink sorry to hear about your failed transfer in September, fingers crossed for this one. I know exactly what you mean just wanting to get on with it!

@Elena3 good to see you here from the other thread ☺️

is everyone starting estrogen and then progesterone? My consultant yesterday really wasn’t clear tbh,I am going to contact the nurses and ask for some clarificafion.

Thanks @Cosyseason1234 ! yesterday i finally got a phone call from the nurse and then an email with helpful and detailed plan. They took their dear time though, I asked them about the process more than one week ago. All I was told before is 'email the nurses once you ovulate in January and they will book you in', 2 or 3 consultants told me this which made no sense to me. I didn't even know there is a thing such as unmedicated/medicated transfer, it all sounded as if it will be just an 1 appointment, maybe a scan before.

I will paste that step by step course of actions that I receieved yesterday, maybe you ll find it helpful:
'When you have a bleed around 3rd January

  • Start oestradiol tablets on day 1 or 2 of your bleed, take 2 tablets in the morning and 2 in the evening or 4 tablets once daily if no nausea.
* *
  • contact the nurses day 1 of bleed so we could arrange scan, this needs to be 12-14 days after starting the tablets.
* * At scan if all is fine the nurses will instruct you exactly when to start the progesterone (Cyclogest) your embryo transfer will be about a week or so later. * * If the scan shows that you are not ready for Embryo Transfer, we will instruct you further. * * Common side effects of the medications include headache, hot flushes, mood swings, nausea and tiredness we ask that you keep well hydrated throughout.'

So, that's what I receieved.
Just dreading those headaches. I am prone to migraines, and my body went nuts after the transfer - ohhs was gone, but now I have been having maybe 4-5 days of really bad headaches, finally today I feel great with nothing bothering me, hopefully it will stay that way until the pills interfere again :/

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 11/12/2024 17:23

Just popping in to say hi. I've just had my fresh cycle converted to frozen and am waiting to find out what my timeframe for transfer will be but hopefully January or early Feb.

SlinkMcSlink · 11/12/2024 17:31

When is everyone’s predicted AF dates? Mines around the 5th January. Last time I did a transfer it was day 17 of my cycle. So I’m thinking if all goes to plan that transfer could be the week beginning 20th Jan x x

Mseddy · 11/12/2024 17:34

Oh I was just looking yesterday for a January transfer thread :) hi all.

I'm planned for transfer on 31st Jan, so sneaking into the Jan thread by the skin of my teeth.

We have a 3yo DD who was a FET back in 2020. I'm having one of her batchlings transferred. We have 3 frozen from that round. No plans for any more fresh cycle so it's one of these three or done for us. We had a rocky time with poor response initially and DD was our 3rd transfer across 2 fresh cycles. It's all feeling like it's happening very quickly with seemingly skipping the first part this time around!

Hopefully this thread will bring lots of BFPs!

Mseddy · 11/12/2024 17:36

@SlinkMcSlink my clinic are aiming for CD 18 of my cycle (predicting my period will arrive 14th Jan). They said if AF comes early they can keep me on oestrogen a bit longer to make my transfer line up for 31st :) it's meant I can book some A/L at work and not have to tell them too much!

SlinkMcSlink · 11/12/2024 17:55

Aww at least you have some potential dates. I’ve no chance with my job. I think I shouldn’t have gone back the next day last time either. I have to be sedated for my transfer which is unusual but needs must. I was desperate for it to be this cycle because then I would have been off over Xmas anyway! @Mseddy

YellowTack · 11/12/2024 18:06

Hi all,

Can I join?

I had my first IVF cycle in September which unfortunately ended in a MMC in November. I am still waiting for my period to show up, but if everything goes well I should be able to do another IVF cycle in January.

cleggrickman · 11/12/2024 18:11

So I started my period on Saturday and went to the clinic yesterday for my baseline scan. I start norethisterone on the 22nd until 31st. I then should have a bleed and start oestrogen on the 8th, day 12 scan on the 17th to make sure my womb is nice and peachy and then start progesterone and hopefully ET on 22nd. I hope this is filled with lots of positives. This time I'm on pessaries as well as lubion so double the amount of progesterone x

SlinkMcSlink · 11/12/2024 18:20

@YellowTack Sorry about your Mmc.

Cosyseason1234 · 11/12/2024 18:29

@Elena3 that is really helpful thanks so much πŸ™ŒπŸ» I am the same as you very prone to migraines,I was actually fine on the stims it’s when they stopped that the headaches started again πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

welcome @Mseddy

welcome @YellowTack sorry to hear about your recent MMC πŸ˜” here’s hoping we all get a some good news in Jan.

I had my withdrawal bleed after egg collection on 2nd December, does anyone have any previous experience of if next period tends to be 4 weeks after this or early/late? The consultant didn’t seem to have any idea, which worries me that I will start a period again before I’ve got the prescription for the estrogen.

SlinkMcSlink · 11/12/2024 19:27

@Cosyseason1234 After my withdrawal bleed for egg collection in July, I had my next AF about 34-35 days later and normally my cycle is around 30 days. So it did delay it slightly.

Omg, I was exactly the same: fine on stims and then nightmare. I am telling you, estrogen is going to get us hard before the transfer πŸ€•

Elena3 · 11/12/2024 21:15

@YellowTack so sorry about your mmc! x
Glad to see several people gathering here - the more the merrier! :D

YellowTack · 12/12/2024 12:48

@SlinkMcSlink I remember your username from the September thread! It looks like we will be in sync again :)

SlinkMcSlink · 12/12/2024 12:56

Awww really!? Sorry that it didn’t work out for you last time either.

Orangewillow · 16/12/2024 19:00

Hi! Just came across this thread, I am also hoping to be having a frozen embryo transfer in january... I'm starting out on a natural cycle so nothing to do until my period starts in Jan, so it could be early or late in the month I crack on.... after the past few months of millions of scans amd appointments it feels really weird to be doing nothing! I keep googling to see what I might do to give it a better chance and think there's probably....not much! So I'm enjoying some December wines haha

Cosyseason1234 · 16/12/2024 20:53

hi and welcome @Orangewillow
I am with you,100% getting on all the wine and cheese over the festive period πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ˜‚ I am medicated cycle so starting when my next period comes although no idea when that will be as I’ve been on stims then EC. Here’s hoping for a positive January for all of us πŸ₯°

I’m wishing Christmas and New Year’s out of the way! That sounds really bad!

monicabella1234 · 17/12/2024 10:03

Can I join? :)

Early Jan transfer hopes for us. We had our first cycle in October / November. Been feeling good for a month off everything and getting some proper exercise in after taking it easy over stims + transfer time. Just waiting for new cycle to start... due end of this week and starting on Progynova.

Found the group very useful in Oct / Nov, so hello everyone x

Cosyseason1234 · 17/12/2024 19:24

Hi @monicabella1234 welcome! I am due to start on my next cycle but just waiting for it and also for the consultant to prescribe my meds πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I only need one drug for FET,did anyone use a normal pharmacy or even their GP to get these?

i am fhinking the clinic will charge will charge a large fee and if it’s only one drug I’d rather do it cheaper this time.

OP posts:
SlinkMcSlink · 17/12/2024 20:21

Everyone probably knows about this but I pay Β£50 for 3 months and can get all the medication needed with that until it runs out.
