Hi,
Is anyone else getting ready for FET in August? I've just started oestrogen got my 1st scan booked for next Wednesday.
This is our first transfer so lots of mixed emotions but trying to remain really positive.

Hi @Gnatalie16 ! Hopefully I'll have my second FET in August 🤞
Had an egg collection back in January 2024 with a freeze all then a first FET in May. Unfortunately it resulted in a BFN. I wanted to start again in July but my cycle was a bit messed up for some reason and my period started on holiday when I did not have my medication 😔 hoping for my next cycle to start next Monday!

Will you transfer 1 or 2? I found the FET process nicer on my body as was less bloated!

Anything you trying to do to remain positive? I'll try a bit of relaxation/meditation this time around and going for walks. IVF is such a whirlwind of emotions!

Hi both. I think I’ll be a sept transfer but hopping on here anyway. I had EC and freeze all in April due to OHSS. Just found out first FET failed :( calling my clinic today to tell them and plan next steps.

I’ve stopped my meds and will need to let my period start, then start meds for next round on my next period in around 4 weeks. Hope to make a few protocol adjustments for next time.

Wishing you both lots of luck! There were lots of BFPs in the June thread I was originally on xx

Hi 👋
I'm really sorry to hear about your failed cycle, here's hoping August is our month.
I think we are only allowed one.
I'm really trying to stay positive and I'm quite lucky (or not 😂) that we have alot going on. Currently a month away from moving house and also busy with work and summer plans so I'm hoping it doesn't allow me enough time to stop and think. I'm a massive over thinker so keeping busy is the best for me

@Gnatalie16 keeping busy seem like a good plan! We're starting house renovations soon so hopefully it will make me think about something else as well 😁 although hoping that I can keep my stress levels in check!

Welcome @Sierra26 ! Sorry to hear about your failed FET. Do you know what protocol adjustments you'd like to make? When I had my review consultation, they basically said to not change anything so I'm a bit worried as to how it will work next time!

Sierra26 · 23/07/2024 19:03

Hi @Loute02 ! I had issues as my estrogen dose was too low so it took 28 days to build up to right thickness, very late in cycle for transfer. By then I was on super high dose and lining was 10mm the week before transfer and god knows how thick by transfer day. So next time I’ll ask for high dose straight away, and hopefully aim for normal transfer time and more average lining thickness. I did fully medicated but my body still tried to ovulate so had to do 2 weeks of ganirelix too to suppress that. Lots to keep an eye on!

Ive not had my consultation yet but these are the things I expect to discuss. Other than that I think they’ll follow same steps as last time.

im already dying to get going!

Kp121 · 23/07/2024 19:25

Hello ladies I have my lining scan on Friday ahead of FET. If that’s good, transfer will be next week!
hope everyone is doing well ahead of their transfers

Ginie2024 · 23/07/2024 21:44

Hello August FET ladies! Just doing an FET investigation cycle now so hopefully August I will be ready for the transfer :)

Anyone else has high NK cells and will therefore need to do infusion/drip and steroids just before the transfer for a better implantation?

Sierra26 · 24/07/2024 21:16

Good luck @Kp121 !

@Ginie2024 no but interested to hear how you get on! How did you find out about your high NK cells? It’s on my investigation list if we have a second implantation failure…

Ginie2024 · 24/07/2024 22:40

@Sierra26 no problem, I will keep you posted! It's a bit scary I must admit as the HFEA isn't really in favour of this treatment but I had a few miscarriages already and my doctor recommended that I do this test, which showed a high level of NK cells. I am with a private clinic so it's pretty expensive but considering my age (above 40), I think it's worth checking everything - this is why this month I am doing an investigation cycle with an EndomeTRIO test next week...maybe it's all a waste of money but at least I will know that I tried everything.

Hoppy1985 · 25/07/2024 20:27

Hey, is anyone due to have their FET around the beginning of August?

Kp121 · 26/07/2024 09:18

Hello
went for my scan this morning and lining is at 6.4mm so I’m to go back on Monday and have it checked again.
Transfer currently looks likely for the first week in August as long as my lining thickens up. Does anyone know how quickly your lining can thicken?

Sierra26 · 26/07/2024 21:48

@Ginie2024 totally understand why you’d want to try everything, I already feel that way. I might have to wait a few cycles before getting going again so might use that time to get some tests done.

@Kp121 what mm is your clinic aiming for? My lining was slow (usually fine in normal cycles with my homemade estrogen!) and I needed two dosage increases. Took 2.5 wks to get to 7.8mm and they needed 8mm. Once dose was right it shot up from 7.8mm to 10mm in 4 days! Think I just needed higher dose from the start.

Kp121 · 26/07/2024 22:24

they didn’t say what it needs to be @Sierra26 but I’ll ask when I’m back on Monday. From what I’ve heard, it needs to be 7mm minimum
what dosage did they increase you to? I’m on one estrogen tablet, three times a day

to be honest I was just relieved to hear everything looked ok because I didn’t get a full flow bleed and kept asking them but getting a different nurse each time. Then they seemed to join the dots and they panicked after I had bled lightly for 5 days that it was too late. So they phoned to say start your medication immediately. I had every worry about going in today and being told I hadn’t bled enough it my lining wasn’t right or I had ovulated. It’s all such a stress 😭

Sierra26 · 27/07/2024 07:45

@Kp121 it really is so stressful! I was on 2mg 2x per day, started from day 1 of cycle (first day of bleed). Went up to 3x, then 4x plus patches 😂 so for my next round I’ll ask to go on that max dose straight away. I’m really tall so maybe I just needed more!

good luck for Monday 🤞🏻

Ginie2024 · 27/07/2024 08:13

Same here, 2mg x3 a day but I was stuck at 6.7mm so moved to 4mg x2 a day and am now at 8.5mm, which they are happy about but they did say that the next cycle, I will start at 4mg x2 directly 🙄
I was wondering, do you guys get really tired and emotional? I seem to be crying for anything since I started the injections and pessaries and I am just so tired I could sleep anywhere - is that just me?

Kp121 · 27/07/2024 09:09

@Sierra26 im 6ft2! It’s so tempting to just increase my own meds but I won’t. Good old doctor Google and the fertility myths has advised the pomegranate juice and pineapple core regime so I’ll give it a go.
@Ginie2024 that sounds like loads of meds for both of you! I’m exhausted all the time as well but I do have an Underactive thyroid which makes me tired and my pcos makes me tired so hard to say which one. I would say defo worse on the meds and I could fit a weeks holiday clothes in the bags under my eyes 😂

Ginie2024 · 27/07/2024 11:18

@Kp121 😂😂 I know the situation is not funny but your comment made me laugh - I hope you get some rest over the weekend!

Kp121 · 27/07/2024 19:23

Thanks @Ginie2024 you too

Sierra26 · 27/07/2024 21:07

@Kp121 im 6ft2 too! I was considering increasing my own dose before the clinic did.

@Ginie2024 fortunately I don’t think I felt any effects. I’ve been emotional but I think that’s all situational and seems pretty constant these days 😂

SlinkMcSlink · 27/07/2024 21:29

Am I okay to join from the June/July thread? My next update (appointment is 12th August) so I’m hoping my transfer might be at the end of next month.

Kp121 · 27/07/2024 21:46

Fellow tall gal! @Sierra26

Ginie2024 · 27/07/2024 21:54

@SlinkMcSlink welcome! Have you already started oestrogen or something else?

SlinkMcSlink · 28/07/2024 01:56

@Ginie2024 I had my egg collection at the beginning of July. I’m not on anything at the minute at all until I’ve had my next consultation on August 12th. Will find out more then 🤞.

Ginie2024 · 29/07/2024 22:21

@Kp121 how did it go today? Biopsy for me tomorrow, a bit scared but fingers crossed it'll be quick 💪

Kp121 · 29/07/2024 22:47

Hi @Ginie2024 lining was 7.5mm so I’m to start my progesterone on wed and transfer is booked for next Monday.
i can’t believe we’ve finally made it here! My weekend of google remedies must have helped 🤷🏻‍♀️

Really hope your biopsy goes smoothly. How quickly do you get the results?
