Congrats on the 7.5mm! You must be so excited for next Monday 🥳
Results will be back within 2 weeks so I still need to start another cycle, then lining then progesteron etc

Kp121 · 30/07/2024 07:13

@Ginie2024 A mixture of excited and nervous. It’s our first transfer so I’ve got the first time joys of progesterone starting tomorrow. Any tips?
i have to do 3 a day 😳 am and pm vaginally and then lunchtime/afternoon rectally

ill keep my fingers crossed for good news for you!

Ginie2024 · 30/07/2024 14:02

It hurts like a b*tch but biopsy now done 💪
@Kp121 do you have the pessaries only? I have a mix of injection in the morning and pessaries 2x a day, but I do all the pessaries from the back as it's too messy from the front. My tip is too sleep well and look after urself - I know it's basic but the progesterone has made me so tired and emotional, it's hard to be your normal self and not over-react to everything. Happy progesterone start! 🥳

Kp121 · 30/07/2024 14:10

I don’t know masses about your biopsy or the test. What could that show or tell you? Sorry it was sore but at least it’s done.

yes just tablets and pessaries. Stopped my injections before my lining scan ☺️ I had planned to go the back route after everything I’ve read here but apparently I can’t do that 🙄 hooray. Can’t wait to do a rectal one at work every day 🥳

Ginie2024 · 30/07/2024 14:20

😂😂 so glamorous, isn't it!

The biopsy is for the tests ERA, EMMA and ALICE, it's basically to test the environment before implantation, for any bacterias, microbs etc. I have only one embryo in the freezer so I'm throwing everything at it!

Loute02 · 30/07/2024 14:33

Finally, Day 1 has arrived 😀 scan booked for next Friday. Starting progynova and cetrotide tomorrow.
@Gnatalie16 ready for your scan tomorrow? How are the injections going?

I'm on tablets only at the moment apart from daily inhixa injections for blood clotting. Scan tomorrow hopefully will go well and the lining is where I need it to be and will find out transfer date I hope! 🤞

Oh yes @Ginie2024 ive heard of those tests. Hopefully you’ve got a healthy “home”

Hoppy1985 · 31/07/2024 14:42

Hey @Gnatalie16 I was just wondering how your scan went?

Mine is on monday. I am feeling fine body-wise apart from being quite bloated but nervous for my scan on Monday.

Ah thanks for asking. It wasn't bad currently at about 6.8mm got to go back on Friday for another. As of today I'm not on 3 oestrogen tablets a day so she said that should help. I'm very bloated and also getting a lot of headaches/migraines.
Try not to worry too much if it's your first scan as they will adjust if needed and get you to where you need to be x

@Gnatalie16 That sounds good then, when are you roughly expecting your transfer to be? I couldn't remember what thickness they need the lining to be (due to circumstances out of our control it's been nearly 5 years since my previous FET :( ). Seems to suggest it has to be above 7 but optimum is between 10 and 15? What does your clinic say?

My clinic's protocol is to give 4 x 2mg from the off with no down reg now so i'm already on quite a high dose. I think i'm worried because i'm so much older than before.

@Kp121 Are you still expecting your transfer to be next week?

Kp121 · 31/07/2024 15:23

@Hoppy1985 yes we are booked for Monday. Eeek!!

Hoppy1985 · 31/07/2024 15:26

@Hoppy1985 yes we are booked for Monday. Eeek!!

@Kp121 ah good luck! My scan is booked for Monday, they're expecting to transfer later in the week next week assuming the scan looks good.

All the best for Monday x

Kp121 · 31/07/2024 15:55

Fingers crossed for you @Hoppy1985 I’ll be thinking of you on Monday. ☺️ are you doing a frozen transfer?

Hoppy1985 · 31/07/2024 16:03

@Kp121 yes, I've previously had 3 ivf cycles, two frozen transfers, two pregnancies and 2 miscarriages at 10 and 6 weeks respectively. This is our last frozen embryo so last chance saloon as it were. We've had PGD/PGT as I have muscular dystrophy so it's been like IVF but then 50% less chance again as it's a 50/50 chance the embryo will have my dodgy gene.

Long story short but I was due to do this last round just as COVID struck - I then had two separate falls & major bone breaks in 2020 & 2021 with long recovery and accelerating my move to a wheelchair - then having to look for an accessible home, having no luck then extending and making ours accessible - hence why a 5yr gap since my last one. As i'm so much older and i've already had two failures I have low expectations but high hopes for our last go.

Kp121 · 31/07/2024 16:35

Auch @Hoppy1985 i really feel for you. That sounds like a really tough journey and I hope you’ve got good support.
infertility is not for the faint hearted.

it’s so hard to be positive but also keep your guard up a bit isn’t it. Surely after all that you’re due some good luck though

Hoppy1985 · 31/07/2024 16:37

@Kp121 I hope so. Do you have time off after your transfer on Monday (assuming you work of course)?

Ginie2024 · 31/07/2024 16:39

Crossing everything for you @Hoppy1985, third time's a charm 🥰
PGTA is an amazing test but reduces so much chances, I had to do it too and waiting for the results is nerve wracking - but waiting 5yrs for your transfer is admirable!

Kp121 · 31/07/2024 16:49

@Hoppy1985 I have a fairly physical job so my boss has agreed to the two weeks off but I have to go to the GP on Friday for an appointment “to see if they’ll agree to sign my sick line”

will you be taking time off?

Hoppy1985 · 31/07/2024 16:55

@Ginie2024 thanks lovely. I hope so, i think defo a case of hope for the best prepare for the worst. Yeah it is amazing that they can do it but i just adds that extra element of fear/hope/waiting too. On my second ivf cycle i had no healthy embryos at the end and 8 made it to blastocyst, it was honestly soul destroying.

@Kp121 no I'll be straight back to work the next day as I did with the first two. I work from home and obviously don't move about much so it's not a big issue for me but certainly I'd be going for time off for sure if i had a physical job. To be honest for me I think i'm better to try and keep my mind of it during the 2WW anyway otherwise i'd probably go potty 😂

Kp121 · 31/07/2024 17:04

@Hoppy1985 im an overthinker anyway so I’m a bit worried about sitting at home with my thoughts

Hoppy1985 · 31/07/2024 17:26

@Kp121 get a list of programmes to watch on the go. What kind of things are you into, maybe the rest of us can give you some recommendations?

Kp121 · 31/07/2024 17:29

@Hoppy1985 I’ve got some books to read and I started knitting a jumper (when I was off for 7 weeks getting an operation last year) which i need to finish knitting. Not a knitter so that will take me the full time probably
And I’m going to watch new Amsterdam I think. Open to any suggestions though. Not fussy at all

Hoppy1985 · 31/07/2024 17:34

@Kp121 ah i enjoyed New Amsterdam. Are you a Grey's Anatomy watcher?
Books are a good call too, I love to read but somehow never ever seem to be able to find the time.

Kp121 · 31/07/2024 17:36

@Hoppy1985 yes loved greys anatomy. I work in healthcare so like that kind of thing.
Im the same but im really trying to get into reading
