Hello! I wondered if anybody else has recently tested positive after a transfer and would like to chat and pass the next few nerve wracking weeks with me? 😊

I had my FET on 27th June and my OTD was yesterday 🎉

I know there's other similar threads out there at the min with really lovey ladies on there, but they all seem to be 8-10 weeks ahead so I thought it might be nice to share a new one.

Morning :)

I would love to join. I had my OTD BFP on a clear blue this morning. Have been being cautious after a little bit of brown spotting on Monday but it seems to have stopped so I’m hoping it was implantation.

Will be calling my clinic when they open.

@lemonyfox have you got a scan date yet?

lemonyfox · 10/07/2024 08:54

@Always28 hello I'm with you on the FET thread too! It was my second OTD day too, my clinic wanted me to test on 11dp and 13dp5dt.

Glad to hear your bleeding has stopped, that must have been a big worry. Definitely sounds like old intention bleeding though.

Not yet, I've left a msg for my clinic today and they said I'll be brought in tomorrow for a medication too up, I'll be staying on the pessaries and lubion injections. So hopefully they'll give me a scan date then too, think it's usually between 6-7 weeks which is exciting!

I know :) it’s good to be on two threads with you. I saw your post yesterday but decided to wait until I was official to join!

I’m literally about to count up my meds to see what I have left and then call the clinic. I also need to stay on the progesterone, and the estrogen plus a couple of other things they have me on.

lemonyfox · 10/07/2024 11:35

@Always28 woohoo congrats!

My clinic called back and I have my first scan on Thursday 25th July now which is great, but seems like a lifetime away doesn't it. Any update for you?

Funnily enough they gave me the choice of scan dates between 25th July and 30th July. I’ve opted for 30th because I’m away for a couple of days across 25th. It’s frustrating waiting for longer, but we’ve had so many trips interrupted for IVF, I think it makes sense to pick the slightly later date. That date is my consultant scanning rather than sonographer too so that’s quite nice.

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 10/07/2024 15:30

Hi @lemonyfox and @Always28 ,

Congratulations to you both!

I got my BFP last Tuesday (two days before OTD). I was determined to wait until OTD but I had OHSS symptoms so I wanted to check it was definitely that! I'm now 5+2 and my 7wk scan is on the 22nd.

Is this first pregnancy for you both?

lemonyfox · 10/07/2024 18:56

@Always28 absolutely, enjoy your trip!

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday hello! Congratulations!! How are you finding week 5? Did you end up getting OHSS in the end? I had a frozen transfer so never experienced it thankfully.

No this is my second, we have a 3yo already but have had 3 ectopic pregnancies since then and lost both my tubes. My first pregnancy was also during covid and lockdown so I feel like I've completely forgotten what it was like and it was a weird experience in lockdown anyway!

What about you?

OP posts:
IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 10/07/2024 20:30

@lemonyfox oh gosh I'm so sorry about your ectopic pregnancies, losing both your tubes as well as your babies must have been very traumatic. Being pregnant during lockdown must have been a very weird experience, hopefully a bit nicer this time round!

This is my first pregnancy, I had 6 rounds of ovulation induction and then a round of ICSI with one frozen transfer and no luck on any of them. We had a much better time with ICSI take 2 and got 3 embryos (2 now in the freezer).

I unfortunately had a pretty miserable 10 days of OHSS, but thankfully the swelling is going down now. I had a scan to check my ovaries and fluid levels on Friday and the consultant did manage to spot the tiny little sac, so that was really reassuring to know it's in the right place and it was measuring a couple of days ahead, so thankfully the OHSS doesn't seem to have impacted our little embryo. I think tiredness is starting to hit now, I feel pretty wiped out by 6pm! But otherwise I'm okay, no sickness so far but I think maybe it's a little early for that?

How are you feeling at the moment?

lemonyfox · 10/07/2024 20:45

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday thank you, that's kind of you to say.

Wow you've been through a lot too, I'm sorry about your unsuccessful previous attempts. Do you have PCOS, is that why you tried ovulation induction?

Ahh I'm sorry about the OHSS, it sounds horrendous. And they say pregnancy makes it worse right, so it's even harder on you!

I don't have any symptoms at all yet, though I'm only 4+4 so I'm not expecting anything yet. I only had really mild morning sickness in my first pregnancy so I'm hoping it's the same again 🤞🏻

Overlyanxious · 11/07/2024 20:24

Hi all. Congratulations on the bfps and sorry to hear about all the difficulties you've had. I had my transfer on the 28th June. This is my second baby. I'm currently desperate to have nausea (which wasn't the best last time) to make me feel like I'm pregnant. I've had a miscarriage before where I had nausea etc but then it went. So that's constantly in my head at the moment.

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 11/07/2024 22:26

Hi @lemonyfox yes I do have PCOS unfortunately! Yeah OHSS is worse when pregnant as the HCG levels keep rising, I'm not sure what stops it from getting worse after a week or so though as obviously the HCG doesn't go away... Hopefully you get away with mild symptoms again. My mum never had morning sickness so I'm hoping I've inherited that 😅 I guess I'll find out next week!

@Overlyanxious so sorry to hear about your previous miscarriage. Have you had a positive test yet? Keeping everything crossed for you that the nausea hits soon (but only mildly!)

HollyTheHarrier · 12/07/2024 04:02

Morning all. I have just had a positive pregnancy test on day 10 post FET. Woke up at 2.30am and knew there was no chance of going back to sleep! I can’t quite believe it yet, this was my first transfer so feels too good to be true. Lovely to have some others in the same boat to chat with! Congrats everyone

lemonyfox · 12/07/2024 13:15

@HollyTheHarrier congratulations!! How do you feel? What date was your transfer? I've been waking up at 4am every day since I tested positive, it's like my brain kicks in and I end up being wide awake thinking about it all.

@Overlyanxious I can totally relate. I have zero symptoms so far apart from sore boobs which I've had since before transfer when the progesterone started. You're also only a day behind me, I transferred on the 27th 😊 was your first baby an IVF baby too?

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday ah same, I have PCOS too, are you on metformin?

OP posts:
lemonyfox · 12/07/2024 13:16

@HollyTheHarrier this was my first transfer too, so I also feel like it's too good to be true! Keep switching between happy disbelief and then certain something will go wrong

OP posts:
HollyTheHarrier · 12/07/2024 14:45

@lemonyfox my transfer was on 1 July. I’m feeling pretty good, the progesterone is definitely making me tired but I seem to be getting used to it. I think I just don’t feel like it’s real yet. How are you feeling?

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 12/07/2024 16:20

@HollyTheHarrier congratulations! That's amazing that you've had success on your first transfer, regardless of where things go from here I think the confidence that your lining can support implantation definitely feels like you've overcome another hurdle on the journey (at least that's how I feel with success on my second transfer!) It is a very surreal time isn't it, hard to believe so much is happening inside! Did you have a FET due to OHSS risk?

@lemonyfox I took metformin with stims and up until transfer, but then stopped. Are you on it/were you on it?

I didn't have it for my first round so it was something the consultant decided to add in as a change for round 2, along with different stims, and it definitely seems to have made a difference (I got only one 3BB embryo from 19 eggs on round 1, this time 9 eggs resulted in a 4AA, 4BA and a day 6 5BA).

lemonyfox · 12/07/2024 16:25

@HollyTheHarrier ah bless you, it's maybe early pregnancy tiredness too. The tiredness hasn't kicked in yet for me, but this is my 2nd pregnancy and it really kicked in for me last time around 6 weeks.

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday that's good your clinic was happy to try metformin for you, I've read about so many PCOS ladies who requested it but were told no. I've been on it for about a year now, I asked my GP for it when we were still trying to conceive normally before I lost both tubes. Then when we started the IVF process, my Dr told me to stay on it as it'll help egg quality. You had a really good difference between each round then! Is this your first transfer from your second round?

OP posts:
Overlyanxious · 12/07/2024 16:28

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday I should have said I've had my positive.

@HollyTheHarrier congratulations

@lemonyfox my first baby was also IVF. I always seem to feel nauseous so slightly panicking at the moment. I keep googling everything. I keep wondering am I worried or is it intuition

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday yes - like a few people have mentioned I have PCOS and clinic were very worried about OHSS. I was ok in the end but very glad I didn’t go into a fresh transfer as I did feel a bit rough for a while.

@lemonyfox tiredness could also be the emotional stress of the whole thing to be fair!

lemonyfox · 12/07/2024 17:42

@HollyTheHarrier yes you're absolutely right!

@Overlyanxious I'm sorry you're worried, I can imagine every pregnancy is different though. Do you have your first scan scheduled yet?

OP posts:
Always28 · 12/07/2024 18:01

@HollyTheHarrier congratulations on your positive test. That’s brilliant news. I can totally relate to the not feeling real yet.

Hope everyone is ok. I’m feeling quite nauseous today. Will see what tomorrow brings.

I have scan booked for 30th July, which feels like forever away at the moment!

Overlyanxious · 12/07/2024 19:47

@lemonyfox yes I have a scan booked for 1st August - feels ages away. How about you?

@Always28 that sounds reassuring. When was your transfer date?

lemonyfox · 12/07/2024 20:01

@Overlyanxious mines the 25th July 😭 just less than two weeks, but like you it feels like a lifetime away. Going to try and keep really busy this weekend to take my mind off it! Does anyone have any nice plans?

My transfer date was 27th June, so not far from yours

Always28 · 12/07/2024 20:33

I don’t have much planned this weekend. Might be going to my sister’s on Sunday night to watch the football. I’m trying to get some bits done at home that I usually don’t have time for - not very exciting but keeps me busy.
