Hello! I wondered if anybody else has recently tested positive after a transfer and would like to chat and pass the next few nerve wracking weeks with me? 😊

I had my FET on 27th June and my OTD was yesterday 🎉

I know there's other similar threads out there at the min with really lovey ladies on there, but they all seem to be 8-10 weeks ahead so I thought it might be nice to share a new one.

How is everyone calculating the weeks and days? I had FET on 8th July and recorded this on 2 diff apps. 1 says I'm 5 weeks today and the other says 4 weeks 2 days.

Thank you for the welcome 🥰

@lemonyfox glad you were able to get reassurance today. I also had my first scan and saw a lovely heartbeat 💓 I measured 6w+4 instead of 6w+6 and was coming on to ask the same thing! My clinic weren't concerned at all (though obviously I was 😅). But it seems quite normal to be a day or two off this early?

My follow up scan is next week too so will be thinking of you.

That's so kind of you, thank you. When's your scan next week?

@Rosequartzz hmm that's odd, I initially used this website:

www.whattoexpect.com/ivf-due-date-calculator/

But I also have the Flo app and the Pregnancy+ ones and they lined up too.

How is everyone feeling today? Any symptoms or anything?

I'm still weirdly not feeling any symptoms apart from tiredness. Even the sore boobs have disappeared.

Anybody else not getting morning sickness?

OP posts:
ScullyLyf · 24/07/2024 19:00

@lemonyfox i felt sick for a few days around otd, get a random wave every now and then but nothing like it was, had a couple of nights of bad cramps. But otherwise just tired & sore boobs.

I did another test yesterday as was so nervous following my last chemical and it was a dye stealer - so whatever happens we’ve made it to the next step this time!

Rosequartzz · 24/07/2024 20:15

@lemonyfox my symptoms are hugely reduced today, I think most likely because I had accupuncture this morning.

Headache is milder, cramps are getting mistaken for injection pains. Super sore boobs and I hate the smell of cooked eggs. I have no issues cooling them or eating them.

I have got a really sharp pain to the left when I sneeze which is a bit odd, but I'll see how that progresses.

Always28 · 24/07/2024 20:21

My symptoms definitely come and go, and aren’t constant. The nausea has been very constant today, but wasn’t yesterday.

On a different note, are people thinking they will find out the gender of their baby before it’s born, or is anyone going to wait and find out when they’re delivered?

When I had my son I found out, and just knew thats what I wanted to do and was amazing. This time around I’m pretty sure we won’t find out until they’re born, which I’m quite excited about.

Thank you ! I've managed to figure it out, the Premom app does it by last period as opposed to being a 5 day FET. Ovia and the link you sent to me match up at 5 weeks exactly.

hja62 · 25/07/2024 09:49

@lemonyfox my symptoms definitely come and go, but like you the tiredness is a constant 😴😴 have good days and bad days with the sickness. The more tired I am the worse my sickness. I was way way sicker with DD which makes me nervous that my symptoms should be stronger, but also makes me wonder if this is a boy 🙈

@Always28 I'm the opposite! Didn't find out with DD but really really tempted to find out this time! We're just been through so much in the last 18 months, so much heartbreak, so much unknown and waiting that part of me thinks I just deserve to know this time around!! I've told my husband it's his decision if we find out.....he's on the fence so it's his call.

lemonyfox · 25/07/2024 10:08

@hja62 I do wonder if there's something in this. I barely had morning sickness with my son. My best friend has just had a girl, after a boy same time as me, and she said she was floored by morning sickness this time with a girl!

@Always28 we found out the gender first time, and I'm way too neurotic to not find out this time. I'd drive myself mad with not knowing 😂 BUT I am trying to convince my husband to keep the gender a secret from everyone else. We kept the name secret for our son and I LOVED how much it drove my mum and mother in law bonkers with not knowing the same. I also really loved the first trimester period when we knew I was pregnant but didn't announce it til 12 weeks, the little secret knowledge bubble was so nice.

How is everyone doing? Hope you're all good 🙂

How are symptoms generally? I'm still quite nauseous but feeling a bit of an ease.

Any scans coming up this week? xxx

lemonyfox · 29/07/2024 18:55

@Hollielouise hey! I'm still feeling pretty okay, though I'd say since Friday I've started with evening sickness which isn't pleasant. From about 5pm until bedtime. Still no actual sickness though, no food or smell aversions, just nausea. Sore boobs come and go, but my nipples are painfully sensitive and I'm SO bloated too.

I've got my follow up viability scan tomorrow after my earlier one last week with bleeding, I'm 7+3 tomorrow and really hoping everything is still okay.

What about you?

OP posts:
ScullyLyf · 29/07/2024 18:58

I can’t work out if I actually feel sick or I’m just nervous 😂 Still feel tugging sensations randomly, or like mild period cramps - nothing like I had at the beginning which were quite bad. I’m 6+5 today, scan on Friday 😅😅

hja62 · 29/07/2024 19:32

@lemonyfox good luck for your scan tomorrow 🍀 have you had any more spotting since? My nausea is much worse in the evening too....I've been in bed since 7 🙈 at least you haven't been sick yet! And yes, I'm SO bloated too. Bumped into my friends mum at the weekend and she text my friend asking if I was expecting so obviously I need to try and hide it a bit better 🤣🤣

I have my next scan on Friday, I'll be 10+1. Go through times do extreme anxiety and convinced myself they'll be no heart rest, and being totally calm and confident that all will be ok 😵‍💫

@ScullyLyf good luck for your scan on Friday!! I definitely had had some weird tugging sensations, and also some quite sharp shooting pains! All normal I think x

GOL · 29/07/2024 20:08

Hi everyone. I hope you all are doing perfect xx Just thought to pop in for an update which might be helpful for some people.
On Thursday (5w4d), I started to have some light pink followed by brown spotting only when I wiped. I called EPU and they booked me for a scan for today. I didn't do much on Friday (worked from home), on Saturday I went for a half an hour walk and everything was fine with tiny bit of brown spotting which I wasn't worried of. However, yesterday we went for a picnic and had a 70 min walk. After that I started to have more spotting which turned to fresh red period-like flow. It was very scary. After 3 times, I passed a big clot on midnight and I was convinced that it was that and I lost it all. After passing clot, no more bleeding. Surprisingly, everything was fine in today's scan, baby was measured 6w1d exactly as I am and we saw the heartbeat. They couldn't find any sign of the bleeding or where/why it happened but they were not concerned at all. I'm continuing to have some grain like brown spotting which I'm told it still counts as bleeding and I should take it easy while I have it. So, my question to all of you who had bleeding, how active have you been? Did you go for a walk or so?
Also, I've had zero symptoms so far except a stronger sense of smell and very frequent hunger.
Sorry if it became too long. I just wanted to give hope to people who experience lots of bleeding as I was desperately searching for similar stories myself xx

ScullyLyf · 29/07/2024 20:22

@hja62 haha I’m so bloated I’m sure people are wondering, even if they’re too afraid to ask! Add that to the weight I’ve put on through this ivf journey 😅

ScullyLyf · 29/07/2024 20:23

@GOL glad you were able to get in for a scan and everything’s okay. Any sort of bleeding sounds so scary

hja62 · 29/07/2024 21:46

@GOL I'm so sorry for what your going through, that sounds so so upsetting. Particularly having to wait until today for a scan you poor thing x.

I don't have any similar story myself, however I would take huge reassurance from the fact that baby was measuring exactly as expected 🤞🏻. I've read a lot of stories of ladies with bleeding/spotting where an early scan showed baby measuring behind etc which when combined with the bleeding indicates a problem. But if baby is measuring on track and your bleeding has eased it sounds like it could be a hematoma or something, particularly as your bleeding seems to be triggered by physical activity? Is it possible you had a small hematoma that bled and almost resolved/absorbed by the time the scan came around today?

I think all you can do now is listen to your body and rest. I wouldn't worry about symptoms. Other that swollen boobs I didn't really have any other symptoms until 6.5-7weeks.

Have you another scan booked? Please let us know how you get on x

GOL · 30/07/2024 10:26

@hja62 Oh thanks lovely for your empathy xx I think exactly the same as you, that it might have been a hematoma that was triggered by the activity and hopefully I bled it all and that is the reason that nothing was visible in the scan (I've read similar stories in other forums). I don't think that miscarriage-type bleeding is sensitive to the activity, but I might be wrong. You are right, the fact that the size was exactly as we expected was quite reassuring, but I still have those brown spotting which is annoying.
Which symptoms did you first start to develop after 6.5/7 weeks? xx
I have my original scan booked with my IVF clinic (NHS) next Tuesday. So, I'm very happy that I wouldn't wait long between.

lemonyfox · 30/07/2024 11:26

@hja62 no absolutely no spotting since this time last week, and it stopped after a couple of hours.

My scan is at 3pm today and I'm very nervous in case they tell me it's still tracking behind, I'm 7+3 today.

Glad it's not just me with the evening sickness, it actually woke me up at 1am this morning too I felt rotten!

@GOL that sounds so scary. And also crazy you're passing red blood and clots but they can't see a reason! Have you got a follow up scan?

@hja62 speaking of scans when did your IVF clinic discharge you to normal maternity services? Should I expect it after today's viability scan?

OP posts:
Always28 · 30/07/2024 11:43

Morning

@lemonyfox good luck with your scan today. I think if you’re measuring behind but by about the same amount as before, then that’s fine and still on track, if that makes sense. My clinic are discharging me after my scan this Thursday - they would have actually discharged me after my scan last week, but they left a scan in for this week as an extra.

@GOL glad your scan was fine and you’ve had reassurance. Hopefully the spotting will stop soon - it’s good that it’s old blood.

My nausea has definitely got worse over the last two or three days, and is there all the time but definitely worse in the evenings. It leaves me feeling really restless and not sure what to do with myself! I’m really fancying a ham sandwich - and haven’t had ham in about 18 years! Trying to decide whether to ignore it or give into it!

My next scan is on Thursday when I’ll be 7+5. Feeling so nervous about it. Hoping the nausea is a good sign but it’s just so hard to tell.

hja62 · 30/07/2024 16:18

@GOL at least you don't have to wait too long!! Symptoms were nausea and extreme tiredness really. Tiredness seems to be a constant but the nausea comes and goes....very bad day today 🤢🤢 symptoms can vary so much between women so I wouldn't stress too much about symptoms x

@lemonyfox good luck at your scan 🍀🍀 please let us know how you get on? Yes, I was discharged after my 7 week scan, lots of hugs and tears....was very strange, I was sad to say goodbye but so happy too 🤣🤣

lemonyfox · 30/07/2024 16:29

We've officially been discharged from our IVF clinic! Baby was measuring exactly where it should be at 7+3, and the lovely sonographer let us take a video of the strong heartbeat. She gave me a hug when we were leaving too and I've been sobbing my eyes out for an hour now, happy years.

It is weird leaving the clinic, I get you! Weirdly sad.

@lemonyfox so so happy to hear this 🥰🥰 delighted for you!! It's a bittersweet moment to leave the clinic but a very exciting journey ahead xx

Always28 · 30/07/2024 17:18

@lemonyfox this is great news. So glad it all went well.
