Hello! I wondered if anybody else has recently tested positive after a transfer and would like to chat and pass the next few nerve wracking weeks with me? 😊

I had my FET on 27th June and my OTD was yesterday 🎉

I know there's other similar threads out there at the min with really lovey ladies on there, but they all seem to be 8-10 weeks ahead so I thought it might be nice to share a new one.

Well done @lemonyfox that's such great news !

ScullyLyf · 30/07/2024 17:39

Amazing @lemonyfox , congratulations on graduating from your fertility clinic! I bet you’re so relieved.

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 30/07/2024 22:43

@GOL sorry you had such a scary time with the bleed. When I had a bleed at 6+1 it was a few hours of red, which then turned pink, then I had 3 days of brown spotting on and off. I had a little bit of slightly brown-tinted discharge again last week and again today, but as they saw a haematoma on my 7wk scan I'm just assuming it's from that and not worrying (if I get pain or red blood again I will no doubt be back to panicking and would likely visit EPAU). It is really scary and thr brown spotting afterwards does feel unsettling, but I'm really glad baby looked okay on the scan and was measuring on track. I hope it stops completely soon.

@lemonyfox how lovely, the little heartbeat is so amazing to see isn't it. I love watching the blurry little video of ours too.

Glad everyone else seems to be doing okay, twinges and nausea aside. I'm also in team "not just morning" sickness, although I have only been sick once, some days are worse than others but I am finding a cereal bar/crackers/biscuits eaten as soon as I wake up seems to keep it at bay better than waiting for the nausea to actually kick in.

Have you all made your booking appointments yet? I arranged mine at 5 weeks but it's not actually until 9+3.

lemonyfox · 31/07/2024 14:35

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday no I haven't yet, I hadn't even done the maternity self referral form until yesterday and I've been told it can take up to two weeks to hear from them. If I've not heard by 9 weeks then I'll chase up.

Is it right that we're automatically classed as a high risk pregnancy if it's IVF or did I make that up?

OP posts:
IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 01/08/2024 06:22

@lemonyfox I hope you do hear back from them quickly so at least you know when your appointment will be!

I thought IVF = high risk but then I think I read something on one of the other threads on here recently where a few people said this wasn't the case anymore? I assume it might depend on your own area's rules? I quite like the idea of extra scans, but not so keen on the pushing towards an early induction which some IVF pregnancies seem to lead to!

Always28 · 01/08/2024 11:18

I know you automatically get consultant led care where I live if it’s an IVF pregnancy - I don’t know if it varies from area to area.

I had another scan today. Still measuring a couple of days behind but the baby was moving a lot and she said it was hard to get an exact measurement, and that the growth since last week looks good. So I’m happy. I’ve now been discharged from the clinic.

So glad to hear this @Always28 !! Sounds like you're in a similar position to me....measuring a few days behind on first and second scan but growth in between was ok! I've a third scan tomorrow 🤞🏻

lemonyfox · 01/08/2024 16:34

Amazing news on being discharged @Always28 it's a funny feeling isn't it!

@hja62 good luck tomorrow, is this a private one or ivf clinic?

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday I really hope they don't have that mentality. I had gestational diabetes in my first pregnancy which was entirely controlled through diet and the pressure they put on me for early induction was just silly

Sorry for the silence.... nursery holidays for my 4y old have totally exhausted me amidst pregnancy.

@lemonyfox I'm so so pleased for you that it went well and everything is on track 🥰

My second scan was today and everything looked perfect with a strong heartbeat. I'm 8+1, though still measuring two days behind which they reassured me is normal... though does worry me a little. But growth was good and size had doubled in a week which was good.

@hja62 Good luck for tomorrow. How far are you now?

hja62 · 01/08/2024 18:44

Thanks @lemonyfox @Hollielouise ! This is with the obstetrician! I'm officially discharged from the IVF clinic too 🥳 I'm measuring 2 days behind too and worried about it but taking comfort in knowing both of ye are measuring a little behind, it's obviously more common than we think 💕

@Hollielouise it's crèche holidays here too so I'm off work all next week with my 2.5 year old 🙈 so I feel your pain....it's gonna be exhausting!!

lemonyfox · 01/08/2024 18:53

Has anybody booked a private scan yet? I'm debating doing one when around 9-10 weeks. I'll go mad waiting for the 12 week scan!

OP posts:
Hollielouise · 01/08/2024 19:57

@lemonyfox I'm undecided whether to do the NIPT and reassurance scan at 10 weeks or just do the NHS screening at 12 weeks and then have a private gender scan at 15 weeks. There's no way I'll last from 12 - 20 weeks with no scan! 😅

Good luck 🙏🏼 Reassuring that measuring behind a bit is common. She did try and reassure me today as well so am sure they're right 😅

Sending strength for the kids holidays!

ScullyLyf · 02/08/2024 09:14

Just had my viability scan, measuring exactly 7+2 and saw a little heartbeat. Clinic have discharged us now 🥰🥰

hja62 · 02/08/2024 10:57

@ScullyLyf I'm so so happy for you 🥰🥰🥰 onto the next chapter of the journey xx

I'm heading into my in about an hour, I'm nearly shaking with fear....will I ever not feel like this before a scan 😭😭😭

ScullyLyf · 02/08/2024 11:04

@hja62 thanks, feel so relieved - off on my sisters hen do now so really glad it was good news.

I was so nervous waiting, snappy with my husband all morning 😬 Is it worse do you think because we’ve ivf and were very aware of what it’s taken to get here? I can’t see myself relaxing 😂 and I’m normally the most laidback person.

Hope your scan goes well!

hja62 · 02/08/2024 11:52

@ScullyLyf enjoy the hen now knowing that all is ok with babe 😊

Yeah I think it's definitely worse after going through IVF. It's taken so much to get here and I just don't think I'd be able to handle another loss 😭 but there is nothing to indicate a problem, it's all my own anxiety and stress 🙏🏻

hja62 · 02/08/2024 14:09

Little babe is measuring beautifully 💕 one day ahead now instead of two days behind xx

lemonyfox · 03/08/2024 17:24

@hja62 amazing news! ❤️

Morning. How is everyone?

I had a bit of a scare last night as when I went to the toilet there was some bright red blood. It wasn’t lots but enough to be worrying. Up until I went to bed I had a bit of pink spotting on the tissue when I wiped, and I had a mild stomach ache. This morning I had a bit of brown spotting when I wiped first thing, but now seems to have stopped.

I’m actually away for a few days at the moment on the south coast so not sure whether to call my clinic, GP or just wait and see what happens. I spent all day yesterday walking around and was very active the day before too - basically more active than I’ve been since my transfer date! So I’m not sure if that much walking can trigger anything 🤷🏻‍♀️. Just really hoping it’s not the start of a loss. I’m 8+4 today.

So sorry to hear this @Always28 it's always scary in these scenarios. I had quite similar yesterday. Woke up to pale red spotting/bleeding and was there when constantly wiping. I called the hospital who told me to rest and not to worry unless bright red is similar to when you get a fresh cut and has some clotting. I've had light cramping mid back pains as well. During the day it all stopped and then in the evening I had the same again.

This morning, it was pinkish and stopped. The UK clinic gave lots of reassurance and did say that as its ivf baby, they do give more scans if required. I decided against it as the bleeding/spotting stopped after plenty of rest, cramping is minimal, no bright red bleeding or clots.

I would call your clinic, who are better equipped to help and support you. Fingers crossed it's just something that happens at this time xx

Always28 · 07/08/2024 14:29

@Rosequartzz thank you. Sorry you’re having similar too. I’m glad yours has stopped now. Fingers crossed it just stays away now so you don’t have to worry. That’s good you have had reassurance from the clinic and the hospital.

I ended up calling the midwife, who recommended going to A&E and getting a referral to the EPU, because I have rhesus negative blood so may need an injection. So a very boring day of holiday for my son - we’re away just the two of us this week! They have now made the referral and I’ll get a call from them tonight or tomorrow with an appointment.

The bleeding seems to have stopped now, so hopefully that remains the same and everything is ok. It would be lovely to be enjoying being pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️
