Hello! I wondered if anybody else has recently tested positive after a transfer and would like to chat and pass the next few nerve wracking weeks with me? 😊

I had my FET on 27th June and my OTD was yesterday 🎉

I know there's other similar threads out there at the min with really lovey ladies on there, but they all seem to be 8-10 weeks ahead so I thought it might be nice to share a new one.

Hi @Hollielouise ! Yeah my symptoms come and go - tiredness seems to be a constant, but the nausea and sore boobs go up and down!

Is Prontagest the intramuscular one? I was on that for my first transfer. I'm on prolutex now (which I think it called Lubion in UK). My doctor switched as they are the same in his opinion and prolutex is into the abdomen so less painful. I would definitely ask? Those intramuscular ones are so painful, especially daily, so many bruises and lumps!

Hey @hja62 Reassuring to hear they come and go! Everyone says it's normal but you still question everything don't you! 🙇🏼‍♀️ How far are you now?

Yes - it's the oil and intramuscular and just awful. I dread it. I'll ask the clinic to swap when I have my scan on Tuesday (all being well). Tummy ones I can handle after all of the stims!

Always28 · 20/07/2024 09:35

Hi @Hollielouise 👋🏻. My symptoms are coming and going too. Especially the nausea - to the point where I then question if I even had any!

im on lubion too - which to be honest still bruises me daily! But the injection itself isn’t painful. I think I am someone that has a tendency to bruise easily too.

hja62 · 20/07/2024 14:23

@Hollielouise I'm 8+2 now! Yeah constantly questioning my symptoms, driving myself insane 🙈🙈

Yeah definitely ask if you can switch! My doctor was of the opinion there was no difference x

lemonyfox · 19/07/2024 09:12

@Always28 definitely, keep busy and take your mind off it! I'm abroad atm for work and it's 36c 😂 I'm hiding indoors with the aircon

I forgot to reply to this, but how long are you away with work for?! I thought it was hot here at the moment 😳🤣

hja62 · 21/07/2024 19:19

@Always28 how are you managing with the heat 🥵 we've just had a lot of stuffy weather here in Ireland, no heatwave, but it's be suffocating !!

Was worried my symptoms were gone this morning, then brought all my lunch back up 🙈 I'm driving myself insane! 9 week scan on Wednesday, hoping I'll get some more reassurance then once I've seen baby has grown on track 🤞🏻

Always28 · 22/07/2024 14:16

@hja62 its been quite a nice temperature today and yesterday, its cooled down a bit which is nice. Trying to make the most of it as it’s so often not sunny!! Which part of Ireland are you in?

Not long until your scan - is that with your clinic? How are you feeling today?

I still have 8 days until my 7 week scan. I opted for Tuesday instead of this Thursday as we’re going away for a few days this week. So longer to wait which is a bit stressful (although the part of me that’s terrified of the scan result is glad to put it off!).

I’m feeling very sick today, and was yesterday too. Not enough to be sick but just constant low level nausea and a funny taste. Hopefully it’s a good sign.

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 22/07/2024 14:32

@Hollielouise hi, welcome and congratulations!

@Always28 I think low level nausea is good sign! I feel like symptoms relating to boobs seem to come and go for me, but the nausea has slightly increased (still mild) over the last week so that was slightly reassuring for me. It's just figuring out how to manage it, lots of little snacks seems to be the best way for me.

I had my 7wk scan this morning and glad to say baby has a strong heartbeat and is measuring right on track 🥰 the bleed was likely due to a small bruise in my womb lining, but the midwife wasn't concerned about it thankfully as it's tiny.

We'll probably get a private scan at 11 weeks now if all goes well, just because that will be better timing for sharing our news with family.

Hope those of you still waiting for scans soon get your reassurance too 🥰

hja62 · 22/07/2024 20:07

@Always28 I'm in South Ireland, in Cork. Yeah I've a scan on Wednesday at 8+6 with my obstetrician. I'm actually extremely anxious about it, more than my 7 week scan. I just really want to see that the baby is growing ok 🤞🏻🤞🏻 so I totally feel your nerves, it's such a scary time when it's something you've waited for for so long x

But that's a good sign that the nausea has ramped up!! Your hormones are getting stronger 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

hja62 · 22/07/2024 20:09

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday wonderful news on the scan 💕💕 so glad to hear everything is ok! And it's good that they were able to pin point the source of the bleeding - you know it was a bruise rather than something to do with the baby xx

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 22/07/2024 22:57

@hja62 thanks so much 🩷 I'm so sorry that you're feeling so anxious. Only one more day to get through and then hopefully you'll get to see your baby is thriving and all is well.

I'm sure every mum to be feels some level of anxiety, but I do think with IVF you are painfully aware of how high the stakes are so it's especially hard. You're definitely not alone in feeling anxious 🩷

lemonyfox · 23/07/2024 08:14

I'm 6+3 today and I've got bleeding 😭 it's brownish but looks to be getting a bit more red. I've rang the clinic and waiting for a call back. I'm absolutely devastated 💔

@lemonyfox hope the clinic get back to you quickly and maybe they can bring your scan forward to today (I think you have it in the next couple of days anyway??).

It’s so so likely to be nothing to worry about, and is really common to have some spotting in the first trimester. But I know it’s also so scary. Let us know what the clinic say. Hope it just slows down.

Always28 · 23/07/2024 09:18

On a similar note, I had sex this morning, and then have had a bit of spotting afterwards. I’m hoping it’s just my cervix being a bit irritated but it’s obviously a bit scary (and I’m not having sex again for a while!). I’m not sure whether to call the clinic or just see how it goes.

@lemonyfox I know how scary this can be. My clinic has been having a few panic calls from me a couple times for the same. They have said its normal in the first trimester and can be due to progesterone, iritation of the cervix, something to do with nerves etc but always good to get in touch and let them know.

I haven't yet got to first scan, but do try and rest for a bit, take a few deep breaths, meditate if you can and loosen your body to relax any tension.

Got everything crossed for you, sending you lots of hugs 🥰

hja62 · 23/07/2024 09:57

@lemonyfox I'm so sorry you're going through this, I really hope it turns out to be nothing 🤞🏻🤞🏻 almost certainly ring your clinic and push to get your scan pulled forward. Please let us know how you get on, I'll be praying for you xx

@Always28 I think a bit of spotting after sex is totally normal. It was on the info sheet I got after the FET that due to the increased vascularity of the vagina when pregnant, minor spotting is normal x

lemonyfox · 23/07/2024 11:59

God I'm such a silly drama llama. My clinic brought me in for a scan and everything looks okay, there's a heartbeat. What a stressful morning, I feel ill!

They said it's measuring 6wks exactly rather than 6+3 and this isn't something to worry about cos the margin for error at such small sizes is +- 5 days either side. Has anybody else had that?

They've rebooked me for a follow up scan on Tuesday thankfully

hja62 · 23/07/2024 13:13

@lemonyfox you're not silly at all, you did the right thing given your symptoms! So delighted to hear all was well and a little heartbeat ❤️ I measured 1-2 days behind on my 7 week scan 2 weeks ago. They weren't the slightest bit concerned and you're talking millimetres at this stage so it can be very easy to get measurements slight wrong depending on position of baby, angle of wand, skill of sonographer etc x

Will you still have your original scan in a weeks time?

Always28 · 23/07/2024 15:36

@lemonyfox thats amazing!! I’m so happy for you. Now you can breathe and relax for a little while.

I ended up calling my clinic about the spotting as I had a few cramps too. They weren’t too concerned but offered for me to pop in for a scan for reassurance. All was good, and saw the baby and heartbeat. Mine was measuring 6w+1. They said similar to me - that even though they know the transfer date, implantation can happen at different times and the measurements can be up to almost a week either way without any concern. Feeling very relieved and I’m going to try to relax a bit more and stop worrying so much - at least for a little while.

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 23/07/2024 16:01

@lemonyfox @always28

I'm glad both of your clinics gave you early scans and you've seen heartbeats! Congratulations to you both, it feels like such a milestone to see the little heartbeat doesn't it!

It's not silly or dramatic at all, I think it's always best to get these things checked and hopefully prevent further worry/know what you're dealing with if it is worst case scenario.

Rosequartzz · 23/07/2024 17:46

@lemlemonyfox @Always28 great news ! Glad to hear you were brought in so quickly for scans. How exciting to see your little ones on screen and all has been reassured. Huge congratulations to you both ❤️

lemonyfox · 23/07/2024 18:23

Thanks everyone ❤️

@hja62 my original scan was meant to be this Thursday, so they e rescheduled it to Tuesday next week so there's a bit more time between scans.

@Always28 aww I'm glad you got some reassurance today too

Hollielouise · 23/07/2024 20:22

Thank you for the welcome 🥰

@lemonyfox glad you were able to get reassurance today. I also had my first scan and saw a lovely heartbeat 💓 I measured 6w+4 instead of 6w+6 and was coming on to ask the same thing! My clinic weren't concerned at all (though obviously I was 😅). But it seems quite normal to be a day or two off this early?

My follow up scan is next week too so will be thinking of you.

hja62 · 24/07/2024 14:21

All was well today 🤞🏻 nice strong heartbeat, still measuring 2 days behind at 8+4 when should be 8+6. But I guess the fact that baby has grown 2 weeks in 2 weeks is more important than the fact it is 2 days behind. I'm still incredibly apprehensive, I burst into tears when I heard the heartbeat.

My obstetrician is bringing me back up next Friday for another scan to check the hematoma again as it's still there, and also I think because he feels so sorry about how anxious I am 🙈

Rosequartzz · 24/07/2024 18:33

@hja62 that's amazing news congratulations 🎊
I feel the anxiety would be there all the time unless you could check daily.
