@Clairehbear and @Seasidegirll Good luck today!! On my way to clinic now and going into theatre at 10. Have also been awake since 5am.... 🥺😰😥 xx

EggsFrozenNow · 22/05/2024 08:21

@HopefulllHolly Oh good to know that you had a good experience! I will definitely bring this up with their management now. Sorry by clinic support team i just meant the rest of the team that support the process (nurses etc) besides the consultant/doctor

AnnieStar12 · 22/05/2024 08:26

I had my call from the embryologist and the little bean is good for transfer. Whoopie!!! She said she wants to wait a few hours before giving me a grade but she said it’s looking good and already a 4AB so hopefully it’ll be a 4AA by time it’s transferred.

@Gnatalie16 hope the check up goes okay. And let us know your numbers when the embryologist calls-do you think you might be a record breaker?!

@positivepetal are you also on transfer today?

@Clairehbear and @Seasidegirll @Hollielouise good luck today. I also became obsessed about premature ovulation and doc also told me it happens in 1% of cases so we’d need to be really unlucky. But I did the exact same as you @Seasidegirll and woke up on the morning of EC convincing myself all my crampy feelings were gone. It was all fine ofcourse!

AnnieStar12 · 22/05/2024 08:27

@EggsFrozenNow thats so annoying they’ve been so rubbish. My clinic has been okay, a few minor hiccups but largely they’ve been good on the admin side. Soo frustrating if you need to keep chasing them for stuff when you’re already doing this all on top of full time work. Can you make a complaint? That may help to improve things.

HopefulllHolly · 22/05/2024 08:29

@EggsFrozenNow Ohhh it sounded like you meant the pharmacy who provide the drugs! Yeah definitely say something - mine have been brilliant, which is important as you have the most contact with them.

@AnnieStar12 YAYYYY! That’s amazing news! Well done little embryo! It must be a lovely strong little bean! What time is your transfer? So excited for you! ❤️

Hi everyone is it ok if I join? I am very early in my ivf journey so really just looking for some support/tips etc. as I am pretty clueless (well I’m doing lots of reading etc) but about me….i’m 37 and am trying for #1 and have been for about 18 months (I should say I have been pregnant before when I was about 20 but don’t have any children) my husband and I did all the usual tests and his sperm is tickety boo and my AMH is 39.5 so v good in that dept. I do have Adenomyosis not sure what stage but from what I’ve been told, not too severe (though you could fool me when I’m only my period..bloody hell…literally) had a HyCoSy 3 weeks ago which showed both tubes are blocked and the only way to proceed is with ivf. I can’t lie I was pretty gutted at first but am feeling more positive now, ready to take control! We are going to give it three months and then go for our first round. Any/all tips or advice for this stage very welcome. We are doing low carb, Mediterranean diet. Taking COQ 10 and other supplements. Trying to exercise daily but this is hard with our jobs, probably need to kick this up a gear. Cut down massively on alcohol, probably going to stop completely? Anyway, sorry v long ramble there but it’s already been somewhat of a journey!

Clairehbear · 22/05/2024 08:36

@AnnieStar12 so happy your little embryo is good for transfer! Thinking sticky thoughts for you!!

@Seasidegirll im just waiting to go in. Be thinking about you!

@Hollielouise good luck as well.

Gnatalie16 · 22/05/2024 08:37

@AnnieStar12 that's amazing news 🎉🎉

I am a little nervous i won't lie, I know we got amazing numbers but now going through the pros and cons of freezing all I'm scared that when it does come to transfer day it wont work or won't thaw well. In my head once again 😅

MrsBP15 · 22/05/2024 08:37

P.S good luck to everyone having their transfers!!

positivepetal · 22/05/2024 08:40

@AnnieStar12 that's amazing! Congratulations!!

Yes we're on for transfer today, on the way there now, the clinic will tell us when we get there how the embryos are doing x

positivepetal · 22/05/2024 09:17

PS Good luck to all those having ECs today!

Welcome to the IVF journey!
Sounds like you’re pretty well prepared. Everyone is different, so do what is right for you. For me, I found too much advice overwhelming and felt there was a lot of stuff out there without any evidence at all. So I tried to find a balance between doing what I can to improve my chances while also taking some of the advice with a pinch of salt and just focused on the stuff which was evidence-based.

For me that meant taking supplements CQ10, VitaminD, Omega oil & a prenatal multivitamin. I also cut down on caffeine but still have 1/2 cups of tea a day, and cut back on alcohol but still have occasional glass of wine. I haven’t made diet changes at all, and try to make sure I get good steps in everyday as blood flow is important as it being fit, but I avoided doing vigorous workouts. I also did some online fertility yoga which helped me relax in the evenings as I was getting very anxious. Also my OH has been taking impryl, reduced caffeine, stopped all alcohol, and started running and his sperm results have massively improved.

2tuxedocats · 22/05/2024 10:10

Good luck today wonderful ladies with egg collections and transfers!

Welcome @MrsBP15 👋

hopefullsosbry · 22/05/2024 10:30

Good luck for the 3 ladies having EC and @AnnieStar12 for your transfer.. sending positive vibes 🤞🏽🙏

PsychologyGeek · 22/05/2024 11:38

Hi all, hoping I can join. Doing my second round of IVF and EC booked in for Friday. Feeling a bit disappointed as was moved from short to long protocol in a bid to get more eggs, and it’s looking like I’ll actually get less this time (7 from 9 follicles last time and only 5 follicles this time). We didn’t get any blastocysts last time so was really hoping for more eggs and more chances. Also have developed a small polyp this time, but Dr reassured us that it’s very small so shouldn’t have an impact if we do get to ET stage.

Wishing everyone going through EC or ET all the best! xx

hopefullsosbry · 22/05/2024 12:25

I just had my scan and have a tiny folicle on the right starting to appear but will still be too small come . So just continuing on with the folicles from the left ovary. looks like 3 good ones and maybe some more might come that are small still .. I have to go back for a scan on Friday 🤞🏽

Hollielouise · 22/05/2024 12:27

Heading home after egg collection - got 19 eggs. Alight discomfort but thankfully not bad. Any post EC recovery tips to avoid OHSS do let me know!

@Seasidegirll and @Clairehbear thinking of you and hope you're both doing well x

AnnieStar12 · 22/05/2024 12:42

Whoopie, I had my transfer and heading home.
I find transfer so much worse than EC, but mainly I’m just so relieved we got to this stage. So now to join @2tuxedocats and @PurpleRayne89 in the TWW!

Am trying to decide whether to start testing out the trigger so I don’t get any false positives, also torn whether I should just wait. My clinic luckily does it’s test day on 9 days post transfer so it’s 1st June for me.

@Hollielouise that’s a fantastic result. Will you have to do a freeze all?

@Cloclo93 are you also on egg collection today?

Looking forward to everyone else’s updates today! A busy day for this thread!

@PsychologyGeek I was fairly similar to you. Did first cycle on a short protocol in March, got 3 eggs which led to one (low grade) embryo which was transferred but didn’t work. We then were advised to move to long protocol to try get a few more eggs. Ironically, I only got one egg this time so a big drop! But luckily it has resulted in a top quality embryo which has just been transferred. So despite the lower egg numbers, I’m actually in a better position this time as the grade is considerably higher.

HopefulllHolly · 22/05/2024 12:55

@AnnieStar12 Shes PUPO! Yay! Im so pleased for you ☺️ what have you got planned this afternoon?

The only thing I’d say about testing out the trigger and testing early is that you do worry about line progression, but it did help me because I was obsessing over whether it worked or not and felt very in my own head too much. But I think it’s a super personal choice what you decide. 1st June isn’t that bad to wait if you do decide to wait though ☺️☺️ So pleased for you and your perfect little egg! Wishing you lots of positivity and very firmly keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I didn’t find transfer that bad, was worse than collection because I was awake and she couldn’t get in my cervix for ages 😂 she kept apologising and saying I was doing really well but I think I have a high pain threshold because I couldn’t really feel anything - was like a smear test really.

Hi all!

So much to keep up with on this thread. So lovely to hear that everyone's EC and transfers have gone well so far! And for those still waiting for it today - lots and lots of good luck!

@Hollielouise ahh lovely! Does this mean they will be doing freeze all for you?
@AnnieStar12 I'm so pleased for you!! Got everything crossed for you and hoping this little embryo sticks! 🤞

I had my third scan this morning, things have progressed but just waiting on the clinic to call and let me know if they can do EC on Friday!

Woohoo that's fantastic 😍😍 little embaby on board! You have so much patience if you wait till your test day! If I get as far as transfer I'll definitely be testing mine out! I gotta be up at 5am in the morning for EC at 8am, we live 2 and a half hours from clinic 😁 my stomach is butterflies all day 🙃

camelinastorm · 22/05/2024 14:03
