@AnnieStar12 Oh I can imagine! My friend tested early because she was convinced she was getting her period after spotting, but it was positive! And then she had to wait for 3 weeks until her viability scan. It wasn't easy.

Have you had your scan yet? I haven't followed everyone's dates too closely because I'm a bit out of sync with everyone in this thread. I'm somehow too late compared to everyone here but too early for the June / July thread lol

Just looking for a bit of advice if anyone has been through it ,

So this round failed, we are using the new kitchen money for this next round.
My clinic wants me to go on the pill from the 10th July (predicted next bleed) until the 1st of August so for around 3 weeks then to stop and we start that cycle, I've only ever done the pill for 2 months before will 2 weeks be long enough ?

Hi @camelinastorm, what do you mean by long enough ? Is the aim simply to delay your period until the date they want your cycle to start? In which case, yes that will work.

AnnieStar12 · 13/06/2024 18:12

@ThePeachGoose Im 6 weeks tomorrow and have my first scan at my clinic, am very nervous! This whole process has just been a sequence of really stressful waits!!

@camelinastorm surely it's just so they can take control of your hormones after your period, so 3 weeks should be plenty. I did long protocol and was only taking down reg medication for a couple weeks.

camelinastorm · 13/06/2024 18:13

@RunningOnHope yes it's to delay, I was just thinking is only 20 days on it sufficient to then make the period start on the 2nd of August, this time I was on it for 2 months to ensure it regulated it.

camelinastorm · 13/06/2024 18:15

@AnnieStar12 AHH great was your down regs the pill, I've heard many use norethistien thing, it's so confusing, but they want me back in asap for the next round 😬😬 good but scary

ThePeachGoose · 13/06/2024 18:22

@AnnieStar12 Oh my gosh GOOD LUCK! I hope it goes well. I'll have everything crossed for you

My down reg was suppose to be Buserelin but there was a shortage at the time they prepared my prescription so they started me on Nafarelin (the nasal spray) and once the Buserelin came back in stock they switched me to that which is injections. (I still have an unopened vial which I would happily post out to anyone who might need it, especially as they are in short supply).

RunningOnHope · 13/06/2024 22:20

@AnnieStar12 looking forward to your good news after the scan tomorrow- everything crossed for you! Our viability scan isn't until 7+4 which is still two weeks tomorrow - insanely long!

Hope everyone is doing well, thanks for all your lovely messages.

@hopefullsosbry how are you feeling? Did you ever get that beta blood test done?

hopefullsosbry · 15/06/2024 16:26

@AnnieStar12 hi, thanks for asking .🥰. it was my OTD today and I am 4+5 weeks today .. got my 1st scan booked for when I am 7+1 so a couple weeks to wait, excited but nervous 🫣.. we could always book a private scan at 6 weeks but I might just hold off this that one ? Will see how the nerves go 🤷🏼‍♀️I am quite anxious as got my beta .. it’s low but within range but on the low side , I have another on Tuesday and another on Saturday.. so until I know how it is doubling I won’t really know how this might progress .. the numbers don’t matter too much, just how it’s doubling … just trying to stay positive and hope for the best .. fingers crossed it’s just producing low HCG but healthy /strong enough for a live birth, I have search the web for loads of story’s and there are lots of success stories with low beta .. so that’s keeping my hopefully just now, I have been here before unfortunately though with low beta and the heart stopped at 10 weeks .. after seeing 3 scans with heart beat , 😞but each scan it was measuring slightly behind more and more each time , it was abnormal chromosomes as we had it tested what I passed, it turned out was a female and had triple X syndrome .. so yeh I am concerned but just a waiting game and hoping for the best , the urine tests I have been doing are still getting darker so that’s a really good sign of increasing HCG and reassuring.

Sorry that was a really long message .. 🥴but I hope you are well , are you getting any symptoms yet ?? 💖
how’s everyone else doing ??? Hope all are well xx

hopefullsosbry · 15/06/2024 17:16

Ah yeh, also I have to stop the progesterone gel but just continue with the lubion injection .. I am a bit wary of stopping the gel , my progesterone levels haven’t been taken , how long are you all to stay on progesterone after OTD? Is it 8 weeks or 12 weeks ?? Hope the injection will hold it in there 🥺

AnnieStar12 · 15/06/2024 19:53

@hopefullsosbry congratulations!! This is a great step in the right direction. So happy for you! You’re only 10 days behind me :)

Im so sorry about the pregnancy you lost at 10 weeks, must have been so tough after seeing a heartbeat. When you say measuring behind, do you mean the baby? Or the heartbeat?
I hope you’re bearing up okay, I’ve found these early weeks really hard and quite triggering from past miscarriages. But I am feeling a lot calmer after the scan yesterday, think it just helped to see it with my own eyes. I will try wait two weeks for my next scan now. Does your hospital offer you ‘reassurance’ scans for pregnancy following miscarriage? That’s what my hospital does so I will try see them at 8 weeks.

Im sure your doctor knows what they are doing with the progesterone change, but if you’re in any doubt at all always ask as many questions as you need. My doc told me to take the progesterone pesseries for 12 weeks.

hopefullsosbry · 15/06/2024 20:16

Yes the baby was measuring behind .. the 1st scan was 4+4 and we saw heart beat but baby was 4+3 .. we wernt to bothered at this point as it’s still so small and early days .. but then the 2nd scan was 2 days behind, 3rd scan was 3 days behind for measurement date and 4th scan it had sadly passed with no heart beat , it passed naturally within two weeks after that, I wanted to let my body do it naturally, I did have a hematoma also but these generally don’t cause miscarriage or cause for concern , it was just abnormal chromosomal unfortunately.. am quietly confident this time but also quietly shitt!ng myself that there’s a possibility with abnormal chromosomes again also .. could go either way .. only time will tell .. I am really anxious I might book an early one at 6 weeks .. the reacurrant miscarriage clinic did say last time I would get extra support , scans etc with it being ivf pregnancy, my age (41) and the passed losses , so we will be under good care , or we can book one private .. 🤷🏼‍♀️ will see ..I just have to hope my beta increase every 48/72 hours that’s the next corner to get round for now .. it’s always a milestone at a time with ivf I think we are all aware of this … 🙏🤞🏽✨💖

HopefulllHolly · 15/06/2024 20:57

@hopefullsosbry So pleased you are doing ok! Sending you lots of positivity for your beta tests and little baby 🥰

Ladies, just a few weeks ago I was telling my friend who was in her 2WW that spotting is common and it doesn’t mean anything, sometimes it’s good news, sometimes bad news, you just have to see how it goes. Yet here I am today, I had some light spotting, brown in colour with some cramping on my lower left side and I am of course, on edge. I’m at 8dp5dt and my testing day isn’t until Sunday. Oof

What’s your experience been with spotting? It feels too late to be implantation bleeding.

HopefulllHolly · 20/06/2024 16:07

@ThePeachGoose Like you say, could be either! I had one dot of blood on 5dp but nothing else, but others have had spotting constantly so it’s really hard to know without testing. Brown or pink is good though - brown is old blood. Fingers crossed for Sunday! Any chance you’ll test sooner? Good luck!
