I was wondering about @Sangels267
She was active for a while, but hasnt said much in a while!

Otherwise, yes, I think this is it.

IVFfirsttimer91 · 04/10/2023 19:03

@ASGIRC thanks! I went back a few pages on the previous thread to check, hopefully anyone else sees this thread and joins anyway if I’ve forgotten to tag them!

Nice idea to open a new thread.

Talking about nappies, my washing machine goes already every other day, I don't think I'll be willing to wash dirty nappies every day 🙈

I am thinking of buying many things second hand (next to me, travel system, high chair when we will need it). I am only looking at stuff at the moment. Won't buy anything before 20 weeks at least. Same for decorating the nursery. Even because it is my office at the moment and I need it 😅

IVFfirsttimer91 · 04/10/2023 21:11

@Charming81 heya!

We aren’t going to buy the large items until after the 20 week scan. And I’m not going to buy the wall decal for the nursery until then either, I think DP just got excited and started without me 😂.

I think I'll buy lots of clothes at TK Maxx. They have the cutest things and so cheap! I really, really hope the next scans will go well because I want to start buying things 😍

IVFfirsttimer91 · 05/10/2023 09:00

@Charming81 ive bought some bits at TK Max!! They have such sweet stuff in at the moment!

Walker12 · 05/10/2023 09:42

Thanks for the new thread @IVFfirsttimer91 :)
I'll also be getting lots second hand, particularly after spending so much on scans 😂 but there is so much good stuff isn't there, barely used most of the time. I've ordered several very cute babygrows from vinted that have never been worn but other than that I'll be waiting a while for any bigger purchases I think. So exciting that we can all start thinking about this now, a few months ago it felt like such a daydream!!

SH998 · 05/10/2023 10:16

@IVFfirsttimer91 thanks for setting up a new thread :)

I've never used vinted, a friend of mine swears by it, I might take a look this evening, could be dangerous mind lol :)

Charming81 · 05/10/2023 10:27

So, 14 weeks tomorrow and as of 2-3 days my nausea is back?! What the hell?!

SH998 · 05/10/2023 10:51

@Charming81 I have the same, was absolutely fine until about 11/12 weeks with the odd sicky feeling now and then but since then most mornings I feel sick. I thought it was meant to ease by 12 lol

IVFfirsttimer91 · 05/10/2023 12:08

Ooh Vinted is a really good shout! I’ve never used it before either but I’ll be having a look this evening now too 😂.

re the nausea, it’s definitely got better but today I’ve felt sick as a dog since I woke up!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 05/10/2023 14:38

@SH998 i downloaded vinted. Definitely worth it! There is so much on there, for really quite cheap!

I know we don’t have to start worrying about this now, but I’m at a loss completely with how many things I should get in each size!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 14:41

@IVFfirsttimer91 I wouldnt buy much of anything.

Chances are people will be buying you loads of clothes, and babies grow soooo fast, they probably wont even have the chance to wear most things!

It also really depends on your babys size. And thats not something you will find out until much much later!

Im feeling so zen about it all that I wouldnt be surprised if baby was born and I only had a handful of things bought and ready LOL

Charming81 · 05/10/2023 14:50

@ASGIRC for clothes I'll do the same. I will just buy a few things for the beginning, then depending on baby size and how fast he grows, I'll buy the rest. I downloaded Vinted, but for some reason my phone thinks I am in Italy and doesn't make me change country! Or I am too thick and I don't know how to do it

SH998 · 05/10/2023 14:53

@IVFfirsttimer91 if its worth it then ill download the app later. I don't really want to spend a fortune on baby clothes as they grow so fast but if there's lots of cheapy's then great :)

ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 14:55

@Charming81 Ive had that problem, particularly with moving countries! Google only lets you change countries once a year, so Ive had trouble downloading Portugal specific apps, even though Ive been here for ages now!

I dont have Vinted (yet), but plan on buying loads second hand as well. Ive even found a big shop that sells big ticket items second hand! And they buy them as well! So I will be visiting at some point to buy the tub, pram and things of the sort!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 05/10/2023 15:11

Honestly I think I’ll be buying most of the clothes from vinted. I saw a bundle of 5 onesies for like £1.25. Various shades of pink so I’ve got to wait until tomorrow to see if I can get them 😂 then I think that will do for the newborn clothing. I don’t want to buy loads because as you said @ASGIRC i don’t know what size baby is going to be! But I also don’t want to be under prepared incase I have a very sicky/poopy baby lol

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 15:18

@IVFfirsttimer91 I dont think you will be under prepared. Because everyone, and their dog, will be gifting you baby clothes!
It is just how these things go!

And you can always buy more once the baby arrives! The shops dont close!
And wityh bodies you can buy them bigger, and the baby will grow into them.

I think bodies are probably the one item you cant have too many of, as the baby will always be wearing one, either on its own or under "normal" clothes!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 05/10/2023 15:36

@ASGIRC youre right, I think our main plan is to have the baby in babygros because they’re so sweet. But I imagine I will possibly be buying a couple of dresses along the way too.

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 15:52

@IVFfirsttimer91 Absolutely! I will do my best to keep my baby "dressed up".

My mom was OTT about it 😂My brother and I always looked like the princess/princes of Wales do! We had nothing that resembled sweats, and even as small babies, we were always wearing proper clothes!
I endeavor to be the same 😂

Also, because they look sooo cute all dressed up!

Charming81 · 05/10/2023 16:03

@ASGIRC I absolutely agree! Although I am havig a boy, I will make sure he will be smart and trendy! I am already looking at outfits for baby if we want to go out 😁 They are the cutest

ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 16:07

@Charming81 haha absolutely! I am hoping for a girl, but even if I have a boy, he will be dressed up as well!! 😂

SH998 · 05/10/2023 16:43

Oh wow, Vinted is great. Just purchased my first item for £6 and only worn twice apparently. Can suit boy or girl, I can tell this site is going to bankrupt me lol 😂
