@SH998 super cute 🥰 😍🥹

Walker12 · 05/10/2023 18:55

I'm glad you have all fallen down the vinted rabbit hole too!!
My nausea also seems to be creeping back today, 13w2d, I've had about a week of relief, but I strangely still find it quite reassuring (yes I'm a weirdo 😂)

ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 20:31

I have had some bouts of nausea recently...
I think maybe when I start getting hungry. Not that I feel hungry then, cause I feel nauseous, so I havent been able to pin point it just yet.

I got a doppler off of one of my pregnancy group ladies... Obviously I tried it straight away. But while I can hear something, I dont know if its the baby... Because the heartbeat seems too slow. Just over 100, when it should be well into the 150s. Unfortunately this doppler doesnt have a screen, so this is based on my own count.

Charming81 · 05/10/2023 21:17

@ASGIRC this is the reason my husband forbid me from buying a doppler. I would just freak out 🙄

ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 21:37

@Charming81 Hahaha yeah, I completely get that. I am chill about it. I think what I can hear is the placenta, which makes sense, since mine is anterior.
Just a bit disappointing that I cant seem to hear it!

Charming81 · 05/10/2023 22:15

@ASGIRC does the placenta have a sound?! I had no idea! Or it could be your heart?

ASGIRC · 05/10/2023 23:00

@Charming81 The placenta DOES have a sound! It sounds kinda like a heartbeat, but more whooshing, and less... clapping. Sounds pretty different from my heartbeat, and a bit faster too.

If you look on tik tok there are videos with the placenta sound, compared to heartbeats!

SH998 · 06/10/2023 05:22

@ASGIRC im allowed to use mine again now as partner forbid me for a while as it was stressing me out. I now use it most days for maybe 1/2 minutes, once I find the heartbeat I turn it straight off.
There is quite a few different noises, I found 3 yesterday lol 😂
It can get confusing as what I thought was baby’s heartbeat in the beginning wasn’t actually that.
When I did eventually find it I knew instantly, I think you would too. I was getting readings about 90/100 which was somehow me not baby.
First time finding it took me about 25 mins and stressed me right out, once you find the baby’s position it gets easier then.
I think they say, a train sound is a boy, a galloping horse is a girl … mine sounds like a train.

SH998 · 06/10/2023 05:54

I’m sure I seen someone was having a gender scan today, good luck and please keep us updated 🩵🩷

IVFfirsttimer91 · 06/10/2023 11:16

@SH998 I will keep you updated!! Scan is at 6.30 so still foreverrrr away. But had to wait until DP is back from work as he wanted to come!

SH998 · 06/10/2023 11:41

@IVFfirsttimer91 how exciting, is it a16 week scan? Not only will you find out the sex but you get to see your little baby again, 16 weeks should be really clear too :)

IVFfirsttimer91 · 06/10/2023 11:54

@SH998 yep!! Im 16+2 today! So will hopefully come away from this with a 99.9% affirmation of gender. As long as baby plays ball 😂. I have to be honest I’m more excited about seeing the baby again than I am about gender. I just want to see her and say hello! Feeling sick with nerves/butterflies though 😂. I don’t feel anxious like there might be something wrong this time though which is a real first. I thought I would as I was feeling a bit worried yesterday, but today I’m just raring to go!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 06/10/2023 13:42

@SH998 Yeah, Ive heard a few different sounds. None were the baby.
I can now recognise the placenta sound pretty well.
Though last night I couldnt hear anything, so I just gave up.

My baby is under the placenta, so it was always going to be hard to hear.
I was even watching a youtube video of this lady who also has anterior placenta, and shes 17 weeks and cant hear the heartbeat, but can spot baby movement.

@IVFfirsttimer91 how exciting!!!!!

I started sending emails to nurseries around me, to see if they have vacancies for September!
Unfortunately, the 5 closest to me are state run, which means they dont take applications before the babies are born! So it might be tricky to get a spot...

Charming81 · 06/10/2023 13:50

@IVFfirsttimer91 I am excited for you 😍 Can't wait to hear the news 🩷

@ASGIRC O suspect Portugal is like Italy, with mostly state nursery with never ending waiting list. Here in UK fortunately it is not an issue to find a place (at least outside London)

Where do you all live girls? If you want to say it. I am in a village between Bedford and Milton Keynes. The village is a bit boring, but I like the area a lot because it is quite near to the airports and only 50 minutes by train to London

SH998 · 06/10/2023 13:59

@IVFfirsttimer91 its lovely that your now excited to be having a scan to see the baby, if your anything like me all previous scans up to now have been a nervous wreck crying at 2 of them lol. I'm excited to be seeing mine next Saturday, ill be 16 weeks 3 days so similar to you so excited to hear how clears your will be :)

@ASGIRC so many sounds its unreal, don't panic as some people don't hear the heartbeat until much later in pregnancy. Its burrowing well so that's good to know :). I haven't even thought about nurseries yet, I'm still getting over hearing how shit my maternity pay lol.

@Charming81 I live in Wales, approx. 20 mins from Cardiff in a very boring village with a 45 minute bus journey to the nearest town.

ASGIRC · 06/10/2023 14:02

@Charming81 pretty much! And since they all became completely free a couple of years ago, its even trickier! Though quite a few private nurseries have agreements with the state, and are also free. But I have NONE close to my house! LOL
Where I live is mostly council estates, so it makes sense that nurseries are all state run, as its not like people could afford private ones!!

Ahhhh Milton Keynes! The town of endless roundabouts and the most soulless place in the whole fo the UK! LOL
But it is convenient!
A lot of my friends who work in the West End lived in Leighton Buzzard, for its commutability into London!
Before I came back to Portugal I lived in Tooting Bec, south London!

ASGIRC · 06/10/2023 14:09

@SH998 Oh Im not worried! I have decided to wait another week, to see if there is any change!

Here you need to worry about nurseries straight away, as the waiting lists are crazy for a free spot! I cant afford to pay for a private one (maybe my parents could help, but Id rather avoid that, if at all possible!)

ARGH So exciting that you have your sex scans sorted! I think Im gonna call the clinic. I sent an online booking thing earlier in the week, but have had no reply yet!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 06/10/2023 14:40

Hi guys!!!

Its so exciting when scan time comes around for us all again! I love hearing the good news. I will definitely report back later and let you know how clear everything was, might include a picture if you all want to see/we get a good one!

I live on the edge of london and Kent, easy commute into the office (20min to London Bridge) but nice space and greenery and a garden.

We are planning on moving to Gloucester in the next year or so though!

Walker12 · 06/10/2023 15:37

@IVFfirsttimer91 So glad you are feeling positive and excited for your scan, that's how it should be!! Looking forward to the update later :)
Crazy that you have to start applying for nurseries now @ASGIRC but I think some of the more popular ones near me have huge waits.. it's not something I've even thought about yet though but will add it to my growing baby to do list 😂
@Charming81 I am in a village near York, love it here and think it will be such a good area to raise our little one.. it's partly why we moved here, before we knew conceiving would be such a rollercoaster for us!

ASGIRC · 06/10/2023 16:36

It is a concern, as, at most, I only get 5 months maternity, not a year!
So I need a spot in September! Which is a great time as it is the start of the school year.

Finding spots in November or March must be much harder!

Just booked my sex scan. 2 weeks from now.

Had to book it with the 5d place, but they will do it 2d,at my request. Cannot wait!

Walker12 · 06/10/2023 17:02

@ASGIRC Ah yes totally makes sense that you have more pressure! I need to start thinking about my mat leave but hoping to take a full year if we can afford it. Lovely that you've booked the scan and they let you just do it 2d! I think I'm going to book mind for exactly 16 weeks so will be a few days after yours :)

SH998 · 06/10/2023 18:46

@IVFfirsttimer91 would love to see the scan pic 🩵🩷.

@ASGIRC ill probably start looking into it when the baby’s here and I know what sort of working hours/days I’ll be able to do. Hoping to do 3 long days, my mum is having the baby 1 day so would only have to pay for child care for 2 days. Really depends on how we manage financially during maternity leave, I might need to go back sooner.
So glad you booked your scan, yet another wait lol. Im so excited for mine too, 8 days and counting.

ASGIRC · 06/10/2023 19:03

@Walker12 I will be 16+2 on the day of mine!

@SH998 I can only afford to get the 5 months maternity, paid at 80%, if my stepdad feels really generous and pays my mortgage off. But I cant just count on that! If that doesnt happen, I need to just get the 4 months at full pay.

Fortunately my mom doesnt work in August, so could probably look after the baby, and then Id get some help from my aunt and another cousin that lives nearby, until the baby goes to nursery in September.

The advantage here is that you get 5 full days of nursery for free. It will still be tough with my shifts, but it will help a lot!

And just like that, were all back to being on countdown for scans! Once this countdown finishes, well be back on the countdown for the 20 week scan!😂

IVFfirsttimer91 · 06/10/2023 19:39

Hi ladies!!!

So……. It’s definitely a girl!!!!! Lovely lovely experience and heart, brain and lungs all looking perfect!!

I can’t wait to hear about all your guys scans coming up now!!! 💖💕💖💕💖

Hello everybody!!!
I don't know if you still remember me 😅 @ASGIRC does still remember, thank you for mentioning me!!

I don't even know where to start! My nausea and sickness was awful for the last 3 weeks, I was started on some tablets but they didn't help much. Then one of my best friends has had a stillbirth at 24 weeks and it didn't help my anxiety about my pregnancy.

I have had my 12 week scan on the 27th September, baby was measuring 5 days ahead and my new due date is the 8th April. We are planning to have a private gender reveal scan by the end of October 🙂

I'm feeling so much better this week. I think being almost 14 weeks helped a lot. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on the last thread during this weekend so I know what everyone is up to 🥰
