Hi guys, the other thread was getting quite full so I’ve made this one, sorry if I have forgotten to tag anyone in the next post!!

I could feel it around my belly button too, just under and to the left

I hope we week feeling them every single day! I have noticed I feel him mostly at night. Never in the morning.

IVFfirsttimer91 · 12/10/2023 23:31

@Charming81 i hope so too! I’m hoping that when I get into bed in a few she will move around and get herself comfy and I’ll feel her again 😂😂. I’m trying to soak every moment of this up now as I’m not sure we will try for a second (never say never, but the whole IVF process has taken a huge toll on me mentally and physically). So I’m just trying to enjoy every minute of this just incase it doesn’t happen again!

Are we all going to be first time mums? I remember from previous threads that there were a few people with DC already. But I can’t remember if any of us in this thread currently have DC already!

@SH998 Amazing!! Congrats!!! I was thinking about you and your scan yesterday, as I am all confused with my days and thought today was Saturday! But then you went even earlier!!! And it is a boy!!!

I sooooo need for my scan to be here NOW! Not only am I dying to find out, I also keep having intrusive thoughts of "what if something has happened and I dont even know??", and I need them gone!!

@IVFfirsttimer91 OMG that is sooooo exciting!!! How far along are you now? Is it 18 weeks?

With my anterior placenta (and it is literally under ym belly button!!!!) I dont think Ill feel my little one moving for a good long while...

And yes, i do think were all first timers!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 08:41

Morning @ASGIRC :) I’m 17+2 at the moment, but they’ve brought my due date forward from the 20th March to the 17th so does that actually make me 17+5? I’m never sure! When you do feel baby move it’s going to be the coolest/weirdest feeling!! Can’t wait for it to happen for you!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 13/10/2023 09:07

@IVFfirsttimer91 17+2 was your old date! you are 17+5!! I wasnt too far off! LOL

Yeah, I cant wait... I do keep concentrating at night, to see if maybe I can feel something LOL
Yesterday, fromt he way I was lying in bed, (sideways, but with my belly mostly on the mattress), I thought I could feel the babys heartbeat... But at the same time, I am not entirely sure I wasnt dreaming at the time, as I had a very weird nights sleep, with lots of dreams and coming in and out of sleep...

So it is entirely possible it was just a wishful thinking dream!

Charming81 · 13/10/2023 09:11

@IVFfirsttimer91 I must admit that, for me, more than enjoying it, is for feeling a bit less anxious. I am not finding being pregnant so amazing 🤦🏻‍♀️ I mean, I feel well, I can't complain, but I am constantly worried and I just want my baby here, I don't care about anything else. I Know I might regret it in the future though 🙄

@ASGIRC I am with you! I constantly have those thoughts, especially before a scan. I said "I hope I can relax a bit after the 12 week scan". Now I hope in the 20 week one 🤣

ASGIRC · 13/10/2023 09:28

@Charming81 I have my gender scan next friday, and while it wont tell me much about the health of the baby, at least it will tell me there is still a baby!

Then it will be 5 long weeks until the 20(21!) week scan!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 09:29

@ASGIRC thanks for clearing that up! I’ve got my midwife appointment today so I’ll just confirm the new date with her as well. 17+5 is exciting!! I was laying very still in my bed trying to feel her last night again and I was disappointed 😂 think she had gone to sleep by that point.

@Charming81 i know what you mean, I just want her here now too. But also I have really really relaxed at this point now so it’s easier to be focused on enjoying it a bit rather than the anxiety now. I think after the 20 week scan I will totally relax if it all comes back ok. When I had the gender scan they did a head to toe scan too and said baby’s skull and vital organs were looking perfect for the stage we are at, so I’m feeling hopeful for 2 weeks time!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 13/10/2023 09:32

@IVFfirsttimer91 2 week!!! OMG! Were gonna be entering 20 week scan territory very very soon!!!!

I think after the 20 week scan I will also relax. I am mostly relaxed now, but with intrusive thoughts here and there.

And same... I just want my baby here, now.
I was saying on another thread that I feel like I am wishing my life away! Constantly counting down to the next milestone, scan, appointment! I dont like it! I am not this person!
But I want my baby. Now.

(but not now! cause that would be very bad!! LOL)

SH998 · 13/10/2023 09:49

@IVFfirsttimer91 first timer here :). How amazing to feel it, I've felt nothing at the moment but the sonographer did say last night he's a wriggler and it shouldn't be much long before I feel movement.

@ASGIRC @Charming81 its hard not to feel that way, you think after every milestone it gets easier but it really doesn't. Lets hope we all settle once we have our 20 week scans (knowing us lot, i doubt that ha ha), not long to wait and next Friday be here in no time @ASGIRC, the wait is brutal, I couldn't even wait 2 days to make the original appointment date lol. They did do a head to toe measurement and also checked head dimensions etc. All was as it should be, I'm having an average size baby with 42% babies smaller and 52% larger so this didn't show any cause for concern.

So far, we have on the way 2 boys, 1 girl? Eden, Noah and Frankie in that order too I think lol :)

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 09:50

@ASGIRC i know what you mean! I’m not this person either, but I think once she is here I will stop wishing the time away and just want it to stop completely haha!!

Yep! Got my 20 week scan on Monday 30th so two weeks monday!! Time has definitely started to speed up now.

I think I will be having an extra scan around 28 weeks as I’m high risk. But I think as well I’ll have a private scan each month for the last couple as well, just to make sure she’s all ok still!

It’s all just so exciting! Her bunny came yesterday too 🥰🥹 I’m getting really ready to start buying the nursery furniture haha. But we’re waiting until the 10th Nov for that!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 09:52

@SH998 Yep!! I think that is the right order 💖. I can’t wait to find out what everyone else is having too!! And Eden is a proper wriggler too, always flinging herself around on all the scans we’ve been to 😂😂😂. Hopefully you will feel Frankie soon! It’s awesome!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 13/10/2023 09:59

@SH998 Hahaha I kinda love that you went in 2 days early!

I am completely unsure if they will do a full scan next week, as it is not a medical facility... it is literally just a "come see your baby in 5d and bond" place! So apart from that, I dont know what to expect!

Then I have my scan on the 24th of November, for the anatomy scan.
After that, I only have the growth scan booked, for 31 weeks. But will probably get some more.

but I dont want to spend too much money on scans, as that is then money i wont have for the actual baby!!!

@IVFfirsttimer91 Is there a significance of the 10th?

I havent bought a single thing. I need to find out if its a boy or a girl first. And even then... we shall see when the buying starts!

I found a place on Instagram which RENTS baby stuff out! Like, you can rent a Next to me, for 6 months, for 50 euros!!! And then return it!
It sounds absolutely ideal! I need to investigate it a bit more, but for those items that will only be used for a short while, I think it might be the way to go

Charming81 · 13/10/2023 10:04

@ASGIRC facebook Martetplace is amazing! You can find a Next to me even for less than 50£ (at least here in the UK). I will buy for sure the Travel system second hand.

I know the sex but I have not bought anything yet, I am so superstitious and terrified that something can still go wrong and then I will have baby stuff at home and that would be too painful. I have decided to wait the 20 week scan.

@IVFfirsttimer91 could you post again the link for the teddy bear? It is too cute I think I want one for Noah as well 💙

wtawtaw · 13/10/2023 10:10

Oooooh lots has happened in 24 hours!! First time for me too!

Congratulations on your baby BOY @SH998 how wonderful, also love the name! Your feelings on baby being a boy were right 😁💙 what made you think he was a boy again?

@IVFfirsttimer91 amazing that you've felt Eden move, I really can't wait for that moment but it hasn't happened yet. Not sure where my placenta is lying, may find out at the gender scan on Sunday?! Not sure. Hopefully you hear the heartbeat today, yay!

@Charming81 thank you for checking in 😘 I'm feeling like death though, however covid test came back negative so that's good, it's just a head cold and body aches which I can usually cope with but cos we can't take anything I'm really suffering to breathe, paracetomol does fcuk all 🙃 and the lack of sleep cos I can't breathe is draining. Who said second trimester was when you feel the best? 🤣

ASGIRC · 13/10/2023 10:22

@wtawtaw Oh Im sorry you are feeling rubbish! Colds SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! And agreed on the paracetamol... Im an ibuprofen girl all the way, so I am hoping to dodge everything this winter!

I found out about ym placenta at my 12 week scan! it is writen in the report. I dont know how they work in the UK, though... do you get a report? If so, the placenta location might be there, as it is relevant (low lying placentas can cause issues, particularly if it is previa!)

@Charming81 in Portugal, people seem to think second hand means "brand new, but Ill take some money off", so most Next to Mes are on marketplace for like... 150!!!
I will also buy the travel system second hand, apart from the car chair/egg. But havent even started looking at those! Just gathered that maxi cosy is a good brand, as is cybed, and chicco should be avoided like the plague!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 10:30

@ASGIRC the 10th is the only day that my partner and my parents are both free at the same time so we’re all going to Kingston to the Bentals centre to buy furniture! Very exciting!!!

@Charming81 yes of course!! Here is the link https://www.jellycat.com/personalised-bunnies/ it’s for the personalised ones, but there are loads of others on there too!

@wtawtaw they told me where my placenta was at the gender scan so hopefully they will tell you too!! I’m so excited for you for Sunday!! And I’m so glad it wasn’t covid!!

Renting baby stuff out sounds ideal?!?! I might have a look online and see if anywhere does that near me! Thanks for the suggestion @ASGIRC!

Right?! So much less waste, and you dont have to store things youre not using for months/years, until you either bin them or sell them or lend them out to someone else...

My mom sounded skeptical about it, but Im convinced!

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 11:22

@ASGIRC I’m 100% on board with this. I love the idea of being able to rent out bits as and when needed. Might be a good thing for me to set up here when the time comes that Eden doesn’t need her stuff any more! As I’m sure there is nothing like that around here. We’re getting everything apart from her nursery furniture second hand, so I love the idea of loaning that out to people that need it and will look after it after she’s grown out of it

OP posts:
Charming81 · 13/10/2023 11:38

@IVFfirsttimer91 I just had a look online because I was curious to see if there is anything similar here. Well, there are a few websites, but it doesn't seem so convenient because you pay monthly. For example, a Next to me could be from 20£ per month. But you can buy one second hand for 50£. Travel system can be 50-60 £ per month and in you multiply for at least 2 years, it is cheaper to buy one second hand.

It's true though that storage is the biggest problem, but also space in the house. Our house is not huge, and baby stuff is big, and lots of it!

I was thinking to avoid the travel system and buy a light stroller that is suitable from birth. We went to see some like Babyzen YoYo or the Cybex. They are pretty and really really light and handy, but I am not sure a newborn would be comfortable in those 😔 The Babyzen doen't lie flat so not sure about it. The Cybex does, but still, if feels not right for a newborn. So I am back to square one not knowing what to buy 🤣

IVFfirsttimer91 · 13/10/2023 11:46

@Charming81 it seems much more functional to buy the 2nd hand one for that sort of price! But then as you say there is the issue of storing it! For people so small, they require a lot of stuff!

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 13/10/2023 12:14

@IVFfirsttimer91 this one that I found was set up 4 years ago by a mom! It has now grown into a proper business.

If it was a monthly fee, I would also be buying second hand, and then selling in, if it was still in good condition.

wtawtaw · 13/10/2023 12:25

@ASGIRC LOVE the idea of renting baby stuff! The only thing I probably would buy new are the mattresses. Great idea though.

Yeah I did get a report but placenta position wasn't on there, hopefully find out on Sunday.

I'm just missing the night nurse 😅 - sends me to sleep in no time and keeps me asleep when feeling like shit. Like a drug to me that stuff 😂
