Hi there, I start my medication for a fresh IVF round in September. Im not the best at navigating mumsnet and wondering if there are any groups set up for people starting around the same time? X

Oh gosh, can understand you feeling anxious @JadeAC but I'm sure it's absolutely nothing to worry about. Didn't sound like the professionals thought so either. Is it your 12 week dating scan on Friday?

JadeAC · 28/11/2023 21:08

@fsr111 yeah it’s the nhs one. We did have a private scan about a week and a half ago as at that point we had no date for nhs and they said could be up to 14wks. I feel ok in general so gunna try my best not to overthink.

TheFanciestPants · 01/12/2023 05:53

@JadeAC good luck for today, thinking of you x

fsr111 · 01/12/2023 07:12

Good luck @JadeAC! Keeping everything crossed for you!

StormsPassIVF · 01/12/2023 18:48

Hope today went well @JadeAC 🤞

JadeAC · 01/12/2023 19:11

Thank you @StormsPassIVF @fsr111 @TheFanciestPants it went really well. Baby measures at exactly the date I thought 12wks 2 days so due 12th June. All looks really good. They said no signs of bleeding from placenta so they think that was just a one off thing. It’s a very wriggly baby. Wouldn’t stay still

fsr111 · 01/12/2023 19:44

Ah that's lovely @JadeAC, so pleased it was all ok! Always so lovely to see the babe too. Are you discharged now to normal NHS care?

TheFanciestPants · 01/12/2023 20:41

@JadeAC lovely news 🥰.

Little update from me, had my 7 week scan yesterday and all is looking good. Heartbeat was really exciting to see and my husband was basically jumping around with joy!

@fsr111 if it helps, the consultant yesterday said as 7 week scan went well, we are now discharged to normal nhs care. I was scared to send my form off before the scan, but needn't have worried, sent my form in last night and got my appointments via text first thing this morning!

@StormsPassIVF hope you are doing ok. How are your thyroid levels looking?

JadeAC · 01/12/2023 21:17

@fsr111 yeah just in normal now. Next scan 20 weeks

fsr111 · 02/12/2023 09:42

Great news @TheFanciestPants! Nice to be over that hurdle now! Roll on 12 week scan! Will that likely be early January for you!? I know what you mean about sending off the paperwork for the booking appointment. I think I will do mine before the scan because of Christmas. Worried if I don't send it off until the 19th, but the time everything is up and running again it'll be January and I'll be a bit close to 12 weeks. Probably over thinking it though as it sounds like you got your appointment through pretty quickly! 😆

JadeAC · 02/12/2023 13:32

I didn’t read your message @TheFanciestPants before I replied to the other. Congratulations! It’s so lovely to see that heartbeat!

StormsPassIVF · 04/12/2023 13:21

Ahh well I think it’s going to take some time, I honestly don’t think I will be starting back on the IVF train a while might be 6 months might less or longer. I have my bloods done in 2 weeks to see progress but these things take time.

Lovely to hear everyone is doing well 😊😊😊

LavenderJoy · 05/12/2023 07:09

Congratulations @TheFanciestPants and @JadeAC that's lovely news with your scans.

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and eveything is looking good, I'm so pleased. The bleeds have resolved and no longer there so I'm going to now enjoy it and relax.
I was measuring 2 days ahead so they have changed my due date to the 13th June even though that makes no sense with ivf lol

I'm being referred to gyno as they found a cyst and my blocked tubes have grown, but I'm not to worried about that, she didn't seem to be.

@StormsPassIVF yes I agree, give yourself time till you feel in a good place to go again, take care.

JadeAC · 05/12/2023 09:07

Thats great news @LavenderJoy I have a cyst on one of my overuse but they said not to worry as it’s common with ivf

Alisha1990 · 05/12/2023 11:31

Hi ladies, sorry I fall in and out of this thread but always keeping up on everyone's journeys! Hope you are all well. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant with twins, (two heart beats at 7 week scan) just wondering if anyone is suffering from much nausea? I don't have much of an appetite and haven't put on any weight so far, I've actually lost weight with being sick, I'm just worried about being 10 weeks along and not even to have put on a pound of weight. I got anti sickness off the GP last week which seems to have settled the sickness but not the nausea! They didn't seem worried but of course us IVF mums worry about every little thing! I've booked a private scan for this Friday so hopefully get some reassurance then that they are both fine! How is everyone else feeling? Does anyone have any tips on how to help nausea?

JadeAC · 05/12/2023 14:52

Congratulations @Alisha1990 twins!! Wow! I didn’t have much but I worried about my lack of symptoms 😂 what are we like! I did read that nausea is worse with twins so it’s probably that. Double the hormones

Alisha1990 · 05/12/2023 15:07

@JadeAC thank you so much, I went for double embryo transfer on day 3, giving this was my third and final round of IVF I just went for it! Never didn't I think both would stick after my previous two rounds! So nice surprise. Have you put on much weight in your first trimester? It's that that's panicking me the most, I've lost weight rather than put any on due to lack of appetite and not being able to keep food down! Especially with two on board, I'd have thought by 10 weeks I'd be a few pounds heavier!

JadeAC · 05/12/2023 17:05

No I haven’t really put on any yet. I’m trying to eat healthy so maybe that’s been a conscious thing not to eat too much. I think it’s natural to struggle and maybe loose a bit of weight if you e got bad nausea. You’ll make up for it once that passes. Could you try juices and smoothies to get some goodness in

JadeAC · 14/12/2023 09:10

When’s your scan @fsr111?

fsr111 · 14/12/2023 20:07

@JadeAC it's on Monday - felt like the longest few weeks. Was feeling pretty positive but now it's nearly here I'm fearing the worst! How are you doing?

JadeAC · 14/12/2023 22:35

@fsr111 im good. I feel a millions times better since my 12 week scan. I think what you’re feeling is totally normal. I was the same. I felt I was being a Debbie downer as I’m usually a relaxed person and was convinced something would go wrong but I think it’s just natural when you’ve had a hard road to being pregnant. You’ll feel so much better after your scan.

TheFanciestPants · 14/12/2023 22:50

@fsr111will be thinking of you on Monday. Like @JadeAC I was also so scared before my scan, I think it's really hard to relax when you have had a hard road (which all us IVF-ers have), I wish I had some great advice but all we can do is keep trucking.
@JadeAC you are so good at checking on everyone, I bet you are an amazing friend! That's great news you are feeling better, I feel like 12 weeks is such an importanr milestone, I don't think we will tell anyone before that.

I had my midwife booking appointment today, they have a new computer system which is driving them all bananas, so that added a few giggles to the proceedings.
I did my urine sample, then managed to knock it over so it went into the toilet (so had to do another one at the end) and then it took then 5 attempts to get blood!
One of those days but all the staff were lovely, I didn't even mind being a pin cushion.

JadeAC · 14/12/2023 23:01

@TheFanciestPants sounds like a comedy sketch hahaha

fsr111 · 15/12/2023 07:15

@TheFanciestPants this made me laugh! When I was quite heavily pregnant with DD I gave the midwife my pot of wee and she knocked it over, in the surgery and it went everywhere, all over the side, all down the front of the cabinets, all over the floor. I didn't know whether - because it was my wee - I should have offered to clean it up! But instead just sat super awkwardly watching her do it! 🙈 How many weeks along are you now?
@JadeAC thanks for the re-assurance. I've been panicking a bit too because it feels like my symptoms have eased right off these past couple of days. I'm sure I'm just over thinking it, just hard not to get in to your own head about it, isn't it?!

JadeAC · 15/12/2023 09:36

@fsr111 that was me exactly. I ended up booking a. Private scan around 10 weeks as I had no symptoms other than tiredness and it panicked me.
