IVF September

Hi there, I start my medication for a fresh IVF round in September. Im not the best at navigating mumsnet and wondering if there are any groups set up for people starting around the same time? X

@JadeAC thank you, I really hope I'm just one of those that bleed during pregnancy 🙏 all I can do today I hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Quick update from me, one top quality day 5 blastocyst transferred this morning. 🥹. Still can't believe it. The other 2 embryos are still being assessed to see if they are worth freezing. So will find out tomorrow morning, but still in shock we managed to get 1!

My husband has particularly severe MFI so we had been very worried about day 3-5 fragmentation and embryos arresting... I couldn't believe our luck when they said we had a top quality and the (perhaps small but still existant!) option of a frostie.

@Natasha90 thank you! It was a bit uncomfortable but nowhere near as scary as egg collection. I thought my bladder was full when I arrived but not enough, so had to drink and stand up for a while 🤣. So I would recommend drinking that extra cup of water 😊.

The staff were super nice especially considering my bladder delay on a Sunday! They talked us through everything and even gave us a little photo❤️.

Ladies.... what did everyone wear for transfer?
Do I need to take a nightie?
No make up etc?

Haven't had any details on this xx

@Natasha90 no make up, perfume or jewellery (I checked and left my wedding and engagement rings on). Also bring socks. You wear a gown for the procedure so no nightie needed as you can just get dressed when you feel ready. I wore a unicorn dress for good luck 🦄 but they just recommended no skinny jeans so everything goes.

Quick update from me, embryologist called and the slower embryo is now a frozen AA blast 🥹. I am really in a state of unexpected upside shock. Our prognosis is not good (low AMH, low sperm parameters combined with an extremely low count) so to get 2 AA blasts is beyond my dreams.

@TheFanciestPants oh that’s great. I’d have been over the moon with that.

@Natasha90 i think the main thing is no scent at all. I even washed my clothes in just water. They said anything that smells nice is to be avoided. Good luck!

Thank you everyone, well I'm in absolute shock but there was a little heartbeat and everything measuring correctly 🥰 I went into the scan room in tears telling her that I think I'm having a misscarriage or about to with my bleeding over the weekend, I'm still have some red spotting now and strong cramps, but all was good, she can't see anything that is causing the bleeding and she said sometimes some ppl just bleed with no answer, so for anyone that has any red bleeds or spotting it doesn't always mean its over....i really can't believe there is actually a little baby there haha

@Natasha90 I think the main rule is no perfume. I didn't wear a gown at my transfer, they just told me to take a pyjama too and make up and jewellery weren't a problem.

I've got my 7 week scan on Thursday and I'm so anxious. This time last year we had just had transfer and found out at the 7 week scan things weren't progressing as they should. We also had transfer in March and had a miscarriage at 13 weeks, baby would have been due in just over 2 weeks so I feel like I'm even more emotional than normal at the minute. I'm throwing up every night and then panic if I don't throw up as much one night as the next - anyone else having meltdowns constantly? I feel like a loon!

@West8690 inwas like this before my scan last week. I don’t have very many symptoms so I was sure things had gone wrong and I kept getting a pain around my overy so I thought it was ectopic. Turns out that’s a cyst. I feel so much better now I’ve had the scan. I know I’m not out of the woods but just knowing this is real really eased things for me. Hope you can start to relax after your scan too

The embryologist just called, my egg didn't survive the thaw......

Going to take a break, enjoy Xmas and go again in Jan.

@Natasha90 bloody hell what a cruel journey this is! Sorry Natasha I can’t begin to think how disappointed you must be at the moment.

I am glad you can now look forward to Xmas and New Year and take some time off the IVF train ready to get back to it in the new year xx

@JadeAC @StormsPassIVF thank you both. I know it's probably normal to feel like this but it doesn't make it any easier. And it's stressful knowing that being anxious isn't good for the little bean either.

@Natasha90 you poor thing, you've been through so much, sending positive vibes and lots of love. This journey is such a rollercoaster which is often very cruel. Definitely take some time to regroup and I have no doubts you will come back stronger for 2024 💪
