So this symptom has come out of nowhere.. I am starving literally all the time. Dp got us McDonald’s for dinner as I didn’t get home until 30 min ago and I have eaten my way through: fries, 20 chicken nuggets, a large drink and a McFlurry and I’m still hungry. How is that even possible?

I must add that i had breakfast, a pastry at 11 and lunch today too

I'd eat all the time and a lot more than what I eat, but then I have problems digesting. Although I don't have any nausea anymore, whatever I eat, it take ages for me to digest it.

Finally Friday. This week so very slow for me. I don't know why.

@IVFfirsttimer91 That must be the 1st trimeter ending and with it its horrible symptoms. And now enters the "eating for 2" phase!

I havent had any nause this week (YAY) but still dont have any appetite and struggle to find something to eat that i fancy.

But at the same time, I am dreading the hungry all the time phase! LOL

@IVFfirsttimer91 yep I've read a lot about the second trimester hunger!! However I'm more pleased to hear you are still eating McDonald's, I thought I would be more healthier in second trimester but I'm still not feeling all the healthy foods! Glad I'm not the only one 😁

@Charming81 have you tried starting every meal with digestive enzymes? They've helped me loads!

@ASGIRC & @wtawtaw its literally hunger like I’ve never experienced it before. I feel like a bottomless pit 😂😂😂 yay for the nausea stopping though!!!

I do generally eat quite healthily because I like to cook and I don’t want to put on 10000 stone in this pregnancy. But yesterday omg those nuggets were the one.

I’m making bangers and mash with lots of green veg for dinner tonight, I’m feeling like the potatoes will be filling and baby will get nutrients from the greens 😂.

@IVFfirsttimer91 we have Burger King like, 3 minutes walking from pur house 🙈 But we are good and we go like twice a year.

But I am Italian, I prefer other junk food. Like I have to have pizza every week, and it has to be a proper one not Domino's or similar. I eat pasta almost every day (especially now with carb cravings) but I am trying not to eat too much so I weight it and I usually do it with vegetables or healthy ingredients (today it was with lentils and carrots and I put nutritional yeast instead of parmesan).

I think I put on less than 2 kg in this first trimester and I feel is too much already!

I used to do intermittent fasting before getting pregnant, but I wake up starving! I have to have breakfast straight away 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Charming81 that temptation would be too strong for me haha!

I do like making my own pizzas actually! I might make one this week!!!

I put on a tiny amount in 1st trimester, probably because I was feeling so unwell all the time.

But now I’m feeling better I’m going to have to be careful.

Im eating a lot of fruit and soup which I’m hoping is going to keep me from going Mad with hunger and is a healthier option for us!

@SH998 I'm glad you are feeling a bit better about things :)

@Charming81 Deodorant won't have done any harm, I think you would have to be inhaling it in a closed tiny space for a long time for it to have even a small risk of affecting baby! But I can totally empathise, I've had so many worries about random things.

Glad peoples appetites are improving. I think I'm the odd one out as I've been extra hungry from the start! definitely have less nausea/aversions in the last week or so, so trying to be slightly healthier but still craving carbs mainly. I put on between 2-3kg already but trying to just go with it and trust my body.

I am on my holiday now, enjoying relaxing and sitting in the shade a lot, and I look more pregnant than I am due to my lasting OHSS bloat so everyone is being super lovely to me! Had a bit of irrational panic after the flight as it was a slightly bumpy landing but I have rationalised that after realising it was no worse than driving down some of the country lanes near my house!

It so nice to come on here and read everyone being so positive and happy, do you think we have all past the irrational, stresshead stage? I hope so. It’s time we all start enjoying our pregnancies, by god we have all had a hard journey to get here.

Eat away ladies, last week I had 2 McDonald’s, a Wetherspoons cooked breakfast, fish and chips from the chippy and ended the week on a high with a Burger King lol 😂

I surprisingly haven’t gained any weight at all when the hospital weighted me but I’m sure that will change soon.

@SH998 OMG I have no shame in admitting I miss Spoons breakfasts! I bought ingredients for a fry up, but you cant get hash browns or proper bacon here in Portugal, so Im making due with cubed potatos and american bacon... Definitely not the same!!!

Oh man! I have lost 3/4kg this pregnancy. And I LOVE cooking, but Im still not really ready to actually cook from scratch. Hoping things start improving.

Not had much nausea this past week, so im hoping things are starting to improve! I also dont want to put on much weight... Since I am already overweight, Id ideally not go over my "biggest ever" weight of 76kg, preferably less... I am currently 65kg, having started this pregnancy at over 68kg

Hi guys, hope everyone is well!

Just a quick question, I’ve got a cervical length scan coming up, but it doesn’t seem like everyone has one of these and on the Tommy’s website it says they do them for those with symptoms of potential preterm Labour. My midwife didn’t say anything about me being a risk for preterm labour at my last appointment so now I’m a bit worried that something might not be right. Are these scans common with ivf pregnancies and are you guys having them too?

Im going to call my midwife tomorrow but I thought I’d ask you guys as well.

I haven't one planned, but if they won't do it, I'll ask or will do it privately. It is a very important check. In Italy is a routine check for any pregnancy because it can happen to anyone. Be happy they are willing to do it! Probably they are just a bit more careful being an IVF pregnancy.

Other than this, am I the only one suffering from middle of the night insomnia?! I wake up every night for a wee between 3 and 4 am and I stay away for at least 2 hours 🥴

@Charming81 I’ve been like this since the beginning. I’m awake from about 3am every day, maybe fall back to sleep about 5am then my alarm goes off. I’m shattered by half 3 and need my afternoon nap then.

This week I’ve also noticed I’ve gone from having diarrhoea since pretty much day 1 to now not going for 3 days. That’s pretty normal for me but is there anything I can safely take to help the process along if needed?

@IVFfirsttimer91 im sure this was mentioned on this thread some weeks ago, I’d never heard of it until then but someone said it could be due to maybe having past laser treatment due to abnormal cells. Not sure if this refers to you mind. If they are offering then take it, I’d take whatever testing they throw at me lol 😂

@ASGIRC im hoping this week I’ll calm down and wouldn’t be so much of a pig lol 😂 a lot is laziness, it’s easier to eat out than cook. A Wetherspoons brekki is not the same without their hash browns. Well done on the weight loss, allows room for the weigh gain in a few months lol

@IVFfirsttimer91 yes I have a cervical length scan next Tuesday @ 16 weeks. I'm having it done because I've had a previous abnormal smear test and had to have a LLETZ procedure/part of cervix removed. Have you had that previously? Those that have had that or a cone biopsy are more at risk of shortened cervix which can cause second trimester miscarriage and pre term labour. If your cervix goes below 2.5cm they can either put a stitch it or give you pessaries to give the pregnancy going longer.

When is yours? Definitely be glad they are checking it, I was going to get it done privately for £90 if they didn't, If it's fine at 16 weeks and they don't want to check me again, I'll probably book another one to check a few weeks apart. A lot of people who've had these producers have it checked every 2 weeks up until week 24.

Mine is at 18 weeks, I’ve not had any abnormal smear results or anything like that. It’s just something they’ve put me down for.

I did lose a baby at 5 months in my early twenties which I had to tell them about. But not because of anything medically wrong with me, my ex pushed me down the stairs. So maybe it’s because I had a ‘late miscarriage’? I don’t know.

I don't have one booked, but I will push for one! They can also check it on your 20 week scan.

I'm stillnhumming and ahrring about the sex scan 🤣🤣 need to get it done! Or do I just go for a blood test? They're about 100 euros though...

No insomnia for me. Or getting up to pee in the middle of the night. But my trapped gas is horrendous!

As for remedies for constipation, you can ask your pharmacist for pregnancy safe laxatives. They exist, in fact I think most of them are safe.

So just go there and ask!

I go between not going for 3/4 days, to then being constantly on the toilet for 3/4 days. Not usually diarrhea, but definitely on the loose side, even after the 3/4 days!!

Also, definitely everytime I say, here that my nausea is better, I get hit with it! 😂 On Friday I even got nauseous from a smell, which has never happened 😂😂😂😂

@ASGIRC get the scan!!! Get to see baby an extra time more than anything else haha!

My dr recommended laculose for constipation. It definitely helps. I’m having the same toilet troubles as you at the moment. Nothing for days, then I take the laxative then can’t stay off the loo for days and repeat cycle 😂

Also, I spoke to my midwife this morning - the extra scan is because it’s an IVF pregnancy. Nothing untoward has been seen in any of my bloodwork or scans so that’s a huge releif!

@IVFfirsttimer91 it's strange how it's just because it's an IVF pregnancy, I wonder if they're aware that IVF doesn't shorten your cervix 😂 glad your getting it checked either way though!

I dont even take laxatives... After 4 days, my intestines just decide theyve had enough, and go crazy with the spring cleaning LOL

I hope you dont have a short cervix, cause otherwise its back on the bloody pessaries!! LOL

P.s some women do and don't see their babies on a cervix length scan, guess it depends how nice the consultant is feeling?! It's an internal too if they hadn't told you x

They didn’t tell me it’s an internal @wtawtaw so thanks for the info! I won’t show up with a full bladder. Im hoping that I have a nice long cervix and can just carry on with a nice stitch free pregnancy 😂. I also hope they will be nice to me and show me the baby at the same time.

@ASGIRC if I have to go back on the pessaries I will scream. But 100% agree seeing baby trumps blood test 🤓
