Hi All,

Looking for others starting their FET cycle in March. This will be my 5th cycle (after 4 cycles last year). I did PGT-A testing this time and my embryos went down from 13 to 4. Hoping for success this time round and just wanted to go through the journey with others.

Also have PCOS and have been trying to conceive for 3years, with 2 miscarriages.

Rainbowpeach · 28/02/2023 12:54

@Purtyburty hiya! When is that expected? I started my cycle today so will start the meds tomorrow. Please share your story

Hi all, hope you don't mind me popping on.
I had egg collection yesterday and due to high risk OHSS they decided on a freeze all.
I'm roughly looking at FET in April.
I'm just wondering which meds you're on to prepare and what your plans look like with scans, meds and transfer?
Any advice would help. Best of luck with your cycles 🤞🏼✨

Rainbowpeach · 28/02/2023 14:52

@Sj2505 hi, nice to have you here. So I had same thing as you where they froze all due to risk of OHSS. How was your egg collection? In my first FET cycle they gave me estrodiol and progesterone (pessaries and alternate day injections). For preparation, I took pregnacare as it had all the required vitamins. Is this your first IVF cycle?

Sj2505 · 28/02/2023 18:02

@Rainbowpeach ah ok, were you given any medication before transfer? Or was it natural?
I'm just hoping they're going to utilise the medication I already have, as I have a lot of everything.
My egg collection was very painful! They tried me on just local anaesthetic first because I struggle to come round after sedation, but they had to top me up with sedation and tougher pain relief. I don't remember much after that thankfully.
They collected 24 eggs though, 17 of those were mature enough for ICSI, and 10 have fertilised today 🤩
Just got the gruelling wait for FET!

Rainbowpeach · 28/02/2023 18:54

@Sj2505 Yes I’ve had medicated cycles with all my frozen transfers. What medication do you have? Is it from prior IVF cycles? Oh nooo sorry about the painful egg collection but what an amazing outcome of 10! Congrats you must be so happy!

OP posts:
Sj2505 · 28/02/2023 19:15

@Rainbowpeach yes just all my IVF stims. I also have Lubion and Cyclogest which I assume I'll still have to take before and after transfer as normal. I think I will have to have meds to make me ovulate as I very rarely ovulate on my own.
I am very happy with that outcome! Hopefully we'll also have good numbers come day 5 and 6

Rainbowpeach · 28/02/2023 20:05

@Sj2505 yes fingers crossed to a great outcome at day 5 & 6. Whats your fertility journey?

OP posts:
Sj2505 · 28/02/2023 20:12

@Rainbowpeach I had IVF about 8.5 years ago and have my incredible 7 year old from the first cycle.
I've now been with my "new" partner for 6.5 years, he had a vasectomy before we met so now we've decided that we'd like a child between us IVF was the only option. We considered a reversal but with my history of unexplained infertility, and him having the vasectomy for 9 years the chances weren't worth the money, and then when it doesn't work we'd have to go to IVF anyway, so we cut out the middle man!

How about you?

Rainbowpeach · 28/02/2023 20:33

@Sj2505 wow that makes a lot of sense, just cut the middle man and go straight to IVF. That’s amazing IVF has worked for you in the past and you have a wonderful child :)

My partner and I started trying to have kids about 3years ago and no luck yet. I have PCOS which makes it hard with ovulation. I did get pregnant once naturally but ended after 6 weeks. Last year I had 4 cycles of IVF but unfortunately all not successful, the last one ended in a BFP but after 6 weeks ended. This time round we have tested our embryos and have 4 good ones so I’m hoping it’s positive this time

@Rainbowpeach I'm so sorry for your loses ♥️ I hope this time works for you! Have you got a date for your FET?
I also have PCOS and rarely ovulate and my cycles are so unpredictable!

Cookiecrush · 01/03/2023 01:21

Hello there ! I'm doing an fet cycle this month and thought I would join in!

Hey @Rainbowpeach wishing you lots of luck for this round !

@Sj2505 wow congratulations on your egg collection, I can't imagine having done that being awake! It was painful enough on a general anesthetic wow. Sending you lots of luck for this round!

Rainbowpeach · 01/03/2023 02:56

@Sj2505 thank you! Oh wow we have same issues, it seems IVF might just be the way for us. I don’t have a date yet, I will know once I have my scan to check my lining is ready, I assume transfer should be around mid March.

@Cookiecrush welcome to the group! Please share your journey with us :)

Hi all,

I had my FET on tuesday, our one and only embryo (d3) - OTD is 21st March.

Struggling to be positive currently. We have male factor issues, as well as polycystic ovaries. Had plenty of eggs collected - 25, 17 mature and 11 fertilised, which we were really happy with, plan was a freeze all cycle due to OHSS risk.

I expected to get a 'few' in the freezer. One was frozen on day 3, but then the rest of them failed to developed further. All fragmenting before day 5.

Seems likely an egg quality issue as most were slow to develop/poor grades. Our transferred one was an 8 cell, grade 2. We had 2 or 3 others that were grade 2, and 6-8 cells, rest were g3-4 and lower cell numbers.

So whilst the embryo we had transferred was one of our 'best' I'm just feeling really despondent as well like what is the point, we are just wasting time, money, and emotional energy as I just don't see how it can work when all the others did so poorly.

I've been trying and failing to keep myself distracted the last couple of days, back at work tomorrow and saturday which will probably be a better distraction than being at home!

Good luck to everyone else who has had/is having an ET this month. xx

Rainbowpeach · 10/03/2023 17:09

@cat234 hi welcome to the group :) spraying baby dust on you! Aw I’m so sorry that most of them didn’t freeze, fingers crossed for this one fighter embryo. I know it’s abit cliche to say it only takes one but its true, it only takes one. So all fingers and toes crossed for you. Is this your first cycle?

Hello lovely ladies

First of all, I have to appreciate all your efforts! It will be worth it!

I'm also doing FET, transfer date 28th march.

My story- I did IVF 2020, 10 eggs, 8 fertilised, and 3 made it to say 5. Just before the fresh transfer COVID hit the world and due to national lockdown my clinic has been closed from March 2020. My cycle has been cancelled. I was devastated. Then, when they reopened on aug, I transferred 1 embryo and it was BFP! Unfortunately after 17 weeks! I lost my baby due to cervix issue and it was a boy. He will be always in my heart. Then, I did another transfer April 2021 and it was a BFP as well. I had really bad experience, every month I had issues and went on ambulance 4 times! Finally, December I had my baby girl. She is 1 year and 3 months.

Due to age factor (34) I wanted to transfer my lady embryo, I want my baby to have sibling as I was only 1 child.

I'm trying to be positive but my clinic has changed their medication. Usually, estrogen and injection for 2 weeks, then scan, once the lining is thick enough then start progesterone, after 5 days embryo transfer. This time, 2 weeks of estrogen tablets only! No injection!! Very strange! And after 8th day they have me a date (28th march) for embryo transfer. I'm quite confused and nervous at the same time!

Wishing you all the best! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you x
