Hi All,

Looking for others starting their FET cycle in March. This will be my 5th cycle (after 4 cycles last year). I did PGT-A testing this time and my embryos went down from 13 to 4. Hoping for success this time round and just wanted to go through the journey with others.

Typo error! Transferring my last embryo not lady embryo 🤣

Rainbowpeach · 11/03/2023 02:25

@zus lady embryo is fine as well 😂. Welcome to the group and thanks for sharing. Aww congrats on having your baby girl, and sorry about your the miscarriage, you have had quite a journey, waiting during covid time must have been so hard.

Regarding your medication, what injection did you take during the first 2 weeks and did they tell you why the protocol has changed? Also post transfer, what other medication did you take asides progesterone pessaries in your last 2 transfers?

@Rainbowpeach Thank you Hun x

Pre- transfer -
Usually 2 weeks estrogen, suprecur injection to shut down my system for 2 weeks then a scan to check if lining thick enough to transfer, once all ok then progesterone for 5 days, 6th day will be the transfer day.

Post transfer -
Continue with estrogen and progesterone, pregnancy test day 7 and if it's negative stop all med, I had positive so I continued progesterone and estrogen until 13 weeks but I continued till 16 weeks as I didn't stop all of a sudden, I stop the medication gradually. Other than these estrogen and progesterone I only took "seven seas" trying for baby tablet for vitamins.

Now, my clinic said suprecur (down regulation) injection was almost out of stock in 2022 so they have tried without it and it worked for many people so they are continuing that method, only certain people are having it due to their reasons. Mine was unexplained infertility so she said I will be fine.
As this is new method compare to my previous transfers, I'm nervous!

What is your treatment plan? What are the medication you're taking? x

Zus · 11/03/2023 09:21

Btw clinic advise to take the test at day 14 not day 7. I always test on day 7 as I couldn't wait 🤣

Rainbowpeach · 11/03/2023 10:27

@Zus

Ah I see! It was a down regulated cycle you had, that sounds great. Unfortunately my clinic has refused to do a down regulated cycle for me because its sort of a “natural IVF” cycle but this hasnt worked out for me. If it doesnt work this time I think I will change clinics so I can do the down regulated option. My own meds are

pre transfer: Estradiol for first 12 days, then from day 0 I added progesterone pessaries and injection, prednisolone

post transfer: Add on clexane which is a blood thinner. I used aspirin in my prior cycles so I think they are just trying different things on each cycle.

I started my injections today and I forgot how horrid it is, Im not a fan of needles at all :( Im really really hoping for good news this time. Im tired of trying, loosing money and emotional stress with no success.

@Rainbowpeach

Oh Hun don't worry, I totally understand your pain as I was and I'm currently on the same boat as you!

This time it will work for you! Be positive ❤️ I have all my fingers crossed for you. When is your transfer date?

My advise is once you done the transfer, take the first 3 days normal. Don't do heavy work, jumping etc... It could be normal for many people but I take the first 3 days as holiday and stayed home, enjoy Netflix and chill. First 3 days are very important as that's when the embryo implant in the lining strongly .

I know it's such a painful process. I hate injection too 😒 I'm happy I don't need injection this cycle but nervous at the same time as it's totally different to my previous 2 cycles.

Rainbowpeach · 13/03/2023 00:51

@Zus thank you hun, yes I’m trying to keep positive and hope for the best. Il definitely be taking it easy all week not even 3 days, I literally wouldn’t be able to do anything. So nerve racking!

Thats so good you don’t need injections gosh, the doctors are probably confident you don’t need them so hopefully it’s all fine :)

OP posts:
Zus · 13/03/2023 09:03

@Rainbowpeach Thank you Hun, I think they have tried with some patients without medication and it worked so they are continuing that except for certain ladies.

When is your embryo transfer date? I have a scan on 20th and if all ok then transfer on 28th! So nervous as this is my last embryo.

Lots of baby dust to everyone x

Rainbowpeach · 13/03/2023 09:54

@Zus oh that’s great, that’s probably why they are confident. My transfer date is this Thursday. How do you prep before transfer? I was thinking to try acupuncture but I can’t seem to find a good clinic my insurance covers. Did you try that before?

OP posts:
Rainbowpeach · 13/03/2023 09:55

@zus good luck with the scan on 20th! Your last embryo is quite nerve racking but as they say it only takes one :)

OP posts:
Zus · 13/03/2023 19:32

@Rainbowpeach oh only 2 more days to go and then it will be Thursday soon! I'm sure you will be excited and nervous at the same time. I'm with you!

From my past experience, I would say you take rest for few days as much as you can, relax, take vitamins, drink plenty of water, put socks (old myth: is if you keep your feet warm, your uterus also warm), don't bend and take things from the floor, and chill 🙂 These are just mine, some ladies carry on with normal duties and get positive ❤️

When are you planning to take the test?

Rainbowpeach · 14/03/2023 13:00

@Zus thanks for the tips! :) I’m even wearing socks now whilst working from home, preparing my womb hahaha! I’m super anxious, I was thinking to do acupuncture but was thinking I don’t want to start trying something new two days before my transfer, so I’ve just left that. Drinking of water is such a challenge for me but il have to just force myself.

Regarding the test, I think it’s like 10 days after or so, I can’t remember, Il know on the transfer day. But I remember the last time I tested at like day 7 or so and it was a BFP. I was thinking maybe cause it was a double embryo transfer then that’s why it showed so early, no idea. But it’s really hard not to test especially if you just chilling at home. So to avoid testing I will not buy any pregnancy test till day 9 and test on day 10 morning haha. Hope I can resist lol

@Cookiecrush @cat234 how is the waiting period going?

@KKDec23 how was your transfer yesterday?

OP posts:
KKDec23 · 14/03/2023 13:47

@Rainbowpeach thank you so much .
My transfer went well. I was a bit tired yesterday and kept activities to a minimum.

They have also put me on Progestrone oil, apart from the suppositories and prometrium.

So that plus Estrate + prednisone + aspirin+ fragmin + 3 preogestrones + multi vitamin + levothyroxin.

They said 1 cup per day is okay for coffee and i was happy. And thag no heavy weights . My first test is scheduled for March 21 st. Fingers crossed.

Good luck with your transfer thus thursday.

Rainbowpeach · 14/03/2023 14:21

@KKDec23 glad it went well and you are getting enough rest. Progesterone oil? Is that the injection? It’s so crazy how much medication is needed for these cycles, I have quite abit as well. How long will you be on prednisone?

OP posts:
KKDec23 · 14/03/2023 17:51

@Rainbowpeach it is super crazy to keep track of all these meds.
It is a progestrone via injections ie in the oil form. Super painful.
Prednisone is for another 10 days . I was given for a total of 15 days

Rainbowpeach · 14/03/2023 21:14

@KKDec23 gosh I know righttt, I have to set calendar reminders on my phone so I take the medication properly. Ohh the oil one that goes in your muscle right with a long needle? I had that on my first transfer, was not pleasant :( just have to think of the end goal to get through it.

Im got a similar timescale with Prednisolone, I wonder the main difference between this and Prednisone, google isn’t very clear, do you know?

OP posts:
Zus · 15/03/2023 13:16

@KKDec23 Good luck for your test next week 🙂

@Rainbowpeach All the best for tomorrow. If you are planning to test on day 10, I think like you mentioned buy pregnancy test on day 7. Otherwise you will be itching to test!

I can't wait more than 7 days! Haha 🤣

KKDec23 · 15/03/2023 13:27

@zus Thank you and good luck to you too😀
@Rainbowpeach i have no idea about Prednisolone. Jt is the first time iam hearing about it.

Rainbowpeach · 15/03/2023 16:16

@Zus thank you! Gosh I am so anxious about tomorrow, I’m so paranoid something will go wrong again. Really hoping for good news this time round. I went to the shops to buy some stuff and I was soooo tempted to buy s pregnancy test hahaha, but resisted! Lol I will buy it on day 7 post transfer.

@KKDec23 Ah okay haha, fair enough.

cat234 · 16/03/2023 20:34

Thanks. Yep, it’s our first round of IVF/ICSI and only embryo to transfer.

Trying not to symptom spot currently! OTD is 21st (Tues), have been good so far and not tested, but think I’m going to on Sunday for a bit of a mental preparation for Tuesday, as I’m at work that day.

Rainbowpeach · 16/03/2023 20:58

@cat234 ah wow wishing you the best of luck! Fingers crossed for Sunday then ;)

KKDec23 · 17/03/2023 11:00

@Rainbowpeach How did the transfer go yesterday?

Zus · 17/03/2023 12:59

@cat234 Good luck for Sunday! All the best and lots of baby dust to you ☺️💖

@Rainbowpeach Hey Hun, how are you feeling? How did the transfer went yesterday? All the best to you 💖

Rainbowpeach · 17/03/2023 13:38

@KKDec23 @Zus first of all I’m just so glad to have this community as I find it extremely hard to talk to friends and family about this so thank you for checking in!

Regarding the transfer, it went well I think. Very quick process. I got home and have literally just been in bed watching shows on Netflix but I am so anxious. I keep thinking that I have tried getting pregnant for 3years (36 cycles) and nothing pregnancy, plus this is my 5th IVF cycle, I just feel it wouldn’t work but I want to desperately believe it will otherwise I wouldn’t have tried again. I’ve tried to distract myself by shopping online but Ive spent a lot already so need to stop haha.

One thing I struggle a lot with is pregnancy announcements and for some reason EVERYONE around me seems to be pregnant, I’m not jealous of them, I’m just upset that these guys have sex once and boom they are pregnant whilst some of us have to spend our life savings for fertility treatments and nothing to show for it. Just sucks. Maybe I’m overthinking now cause I am on bed rest lol.
