@Megan1591 that's a really good number! You can google HCG levels weekly to check. At 4 weeks pregnant on average range HCG levels are between 10 - 750 IU/L. It doesn't matter how high it is as the healthy/normal level of HCG ranges significantly. So long as you are above 10 at week 4 and HCG is on a steep rise it's looking good. It's the increase over time that's showing things are looking good.

It's interesting to hear different clinical experiences between different practices/countries. Definitely seek out a practice you feel comfortable with. A friend went with a clinic that had her technological requirements due to her specific conditions but if that's not a factor, think having the same doctor and a team of patient, supportive nurses makes a huge difference to the overall experience.

Hello!

Sorry I hope no one minds me jumping on this thread, there's lots if messages so can't seem to find anyone in the same boat!
Has anyone had a round of IVF, successfully giving birth to baby...and then returning to remaining embryos for a frozen transfer?

BronteGirl1985 · 09/03/2023 19:25

I got my BFP. I can't believe it. Thanks everyone for your support x

ingkir · 09/03/2023 20:40

@BronteGirl1985 Amazing news! Congratulations!

Aishae · 10/03/2023 01:40

Congrats to @BronteGirl1985 and all you ladies that have their BFP.

LittleAm · 10/03/2023 07:28

Hi everyone! Just catching up with this. Congratulations to all with BFPs!
I’m 5 weeks pregnant and thought I’d be over the moon after my miscarriage last year. But instead I’ve become low and anxious, assuming the worst, Googling EVERYTHING that I feel/sense, even though I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t notice if I wasn’t going through this. My 7 weeks scan is 22nd March, which is when we found out the last time that baby was too small.

Pax89 · 10/03/2023 08:48

@BronteGirl1985 congratulations 😊

congratulations to everyone else that has had their BFP since I was last on here.

Hi @LivingonaPrayerandGin yes I had a fresh cycle of ivf back in 2020 which gave me my little boy. I then had a frozen embryo transfer using an embryo from that same cycle last month and am now 6weeks and 6days 😊

Stillhoping1990 · 10/03/2023 09:03

I just got my BFP this morning. In total shock!

Pax89 · 10/03/2023 09:04

@LittleAm I am sorry to hear you are feeling like this. I think this is quite understandable after everything you have been through. I was feeling very anxious around the same time as that’s when I found out my pregnancy last year was ectopic. I had my scan yesterday and all is going well so feeling a bit better now but it’s always there in the back of your head that it can all go so wrong. If people could see my Google searches over the last few weeks they would probably think I was insane! My advice would be to just try and remain as positive as you can and try to enjoy every moment you have knowing your baby is with you whatever happens in the end. That might sound strange to most but looking back If I had known I was going to have to have mine removed I would have cherished every second that they were with me xx

Pax89 · 10/03/2023 09:05

@Stillhoping1990 Congratulations 😊

LittleAm · 10/03/2023 09:05

@Pax89 thats such a lovely way of looking at it. Thank you ❤️

Stillhoping1990 · 10/03/2023 09:07

@BronteGirl1985 congrats! X

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 10/03/2023 10:55

@Pax89 thank you! Congratulations!! How did you find FRT from fresh? I never realised there was such a large cost to frozen if you had given birth last cycle!! 🤯 how old was your LO when you started the process of IVF again?
So lovely to hear lightening can strike twice!! 💓 I'm afraid to hope we can be lucky again 🙈

Saltisford · 10/03/2023 15:27

@BronteGirl1985 congratulations!!

@LivingonaPrayerandGin yes, we had ivf with ICSI in 2019 resulting in my now three year old son. Last summer we had a FET from the same egg collection which failed but recently had another FET from the same batch and have a BFP

Aishae · 10/03/2023 15:39

Hey all. I got my BFP.. numbers doubled two .. then I started bleeding, retested yesterday and numbers have decreased... So Dr is saying Chemical pregnancy.. and to stop meds.. sad sad sad..

Pax89 · 10/03/2023 16:15

@LivingonaPrayerandGin Thank you 😊 I personally found it much easier this time in comparison to the fresh cycle. That is partly down to the fact our clinic is about 3 hours away from home so not needing so many appointments made life much easier. It is also such a quick process in comparison so everything was done in less than a month and then it was just a case of waiting for the result. I felt just like you, we felt so blessed that it worked for us last time we were convinced we wouldn’t get lucky twice but it can happen 😊 our little one is just coming up 21months. I know it’s crazy how expensive it all is, especially seeing as you already have the embryos frozen ready to go but worth every penny xx

Pax89 · 10/03/2023 16:15

@Aishae I am so sorry to hear your news. I hope you have lots of support? ❤️

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 10/03/2023 16:44

@Pax89 yes that's the part I can get ky head around with the cost, but if course its worth it! What is the process for FET, I've no idea?

@Saltisford congratulations! Fingers crossed for a smooth sailing pregnancy!

I was hoping to think of trying when my little one turned 1 but I genuinely had no idea about the costs. We'll just have to push things back a little as we bought a house right when we were mid IVF so there's plenty of things we need to do realistically before baby #2 🤦‍♀️

@Aishae I'm so sorry hun, the road is not easy 💔

Aishae · 10/03/2023 17:04

Thanks huns.. HH9months to all the BFP.. baby dust to all you waiting..

Maya34 · 10/03/2023 18:13

@Aishae I am really sorry to hear this, it is so unfair😔

Pax89 · 10/03/2023 18:44

@LivingonaPrayerandGin I think it varies for each person but I started taking eastrogen tablets the day my period started. Had a scan 11 days later. I did have to go back the next day for a second scan and had to have a trigger shot due to a large follicle but then a few days later started on the progesterone and then the transfer was booked for the following week. It’s cost just under £3500 including all the meds which is considerably less than the fresh round but still an absolute fortune!

WhiteJasmin · 10/03/2023 19:45

@Aishae I have had 2 chemical pregnancies before. It's rough. Take the time to process. What my doctor told me though is that my body is able to get pregnant and is trying really hard to. It's a good sign compared to not being able to take the embryo at all. She asked what my mental state was last time to try another round after also had a session with the clinic's counsellor. I asked if it was better to rest for a few cycles before trying again etc. She said studies show my chances increase right after a chemical so we ended up taking her recommendation and she also made some tweaks to the drugs. Currently starting my 7th week of pregnancy and really hoping this one is ok. Hope you and your clinic also work out a pathway suitable for your situation.

Aishae · 10/03/2023 23:38

Thanks for sharing @WhiteJasmin . Thanks ladies for all your words of encouragement. Mentally I'm fine or so I think. I think we get so used to the disappointment, it becomes a norm. That's my thought process at the moment.

AM08 · 11/03/2023 09:11

@Aishae thinking of you and please do take it easy. I had the same thing happen this round to me and to begin with I was ok but the sadness has crept up on me.

@WhiteJasmin thank you for sharing, can I ask how they changed your medication this time? Congrats on being 7 weeks, so very pleased for you!

Aishae · 11/03/2023 09:20

Thanks @AM08 .
