IVF cycle November 2022

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

@countrypunk totaly understand how you feel, it is so unfair. In November I had one of the girls in my team video call me to say she’s just done a test and was pregnant and then went on to list all the negative things about being pregnant- I was in middle of 4th cycle and I really felt like closing my laptop I couldn’t bear it 😤

Ok I am FREAKING out, I have just tested positive for covid 😫 I can’t believe this of all the times to get it - I’m so worried about what the impact could be 😢

@Crystal88 thank you lovely ☺️ that's great you've got everything set in place before your holiday so you're good to go when you get back. Have everything crossed for your upcoming cycle 🤞🏻

@Hopewishprayer oh no! I hope you're ok! Perhaps call your clinic for some reassurance?

@LF82 hope you got on better than me this AM with Cetrotide! I was shaking and stressing doing it, I thought I'd find it easier too cos it's a syringe! But it felt so fiddly with changing the needle. My OH talked me through it on the phone but I cried, just got so overwhelmed. I hope it goes better tomorrow!! Xx

@Jx3303 i remember having cetrotide it used to make my skin red, I used take it at night, hopefully it will get easier. I always had do it myself my OH is needle phobic lol 😂 xx

@Crystal88 yeah it made my skin red and stung, I just got such a scare as I thought I had spilt loads up the inside of the needle cover 🙈 it's hard when I'm trying to get my OH to supervise over the phone and he can't really see! Overthinking at it's best for sure!!

Totally relate to what you're saying. IVF really forces you to take each day as it comes. You'd go mad if you didn't. I suppose being forced to live in the moment is quite good!

@Hopewishprayer People are so f'ing thoughtless and self absorbed! I have a bit of a mantra: 'This isn't about me' (repeated many times). It's actually quite helpful!

Definitely talk to your clinic about the covid. Hope you're not feeling too rough x

Yeah the last wee while I have spent the whole time worrying about what was coming, what was next, all the what ifs in between. I mean I still do but I am trying to not look too far ahead.

That's a good mantra ✌🏻 it is hard to not take people's insensitivity personally but I guess they really just don't understand. I find some people just don't ask or say anything to me now in fear of saying the wrong thing too!

@Jx3303 happy birthday! I don’t like the cetrocide injection either! Definitely stung this morning. My husband did all the risky bits and the actual injecting so I can’t complain really.

@countrypunk i think I might steal your mantra!

@LF82 Thank you so much 💕 yeah it does sting doesn't it! Afterwards I had a little practice again of taking off and on the different needles so I hope it's less daunting tomorrow! I thought I was going to have to do a whole new one at one point but I realised only a tiny bit came out.

I have a sore head today but don't know if it's from the slight cold I have, bad sleep or the meds - or all 3 😂 how are you feeling? I've been struggling to fall asleep which isn't like me at all in normal circumstances.

@Jx3303 I am definitely tired too, having very interrupted sleep! A bit bloated too - though all the water I am trying to drink is probably contributing to that. One of the docs last time said to me some side effects are good as it shows the meds are doing something … no idea how true that is though! Early night for us both I think tonight x

@Hopewishprayer ah I’m sorry to hear about the covid, that’s not fun and can imagine the timing isn’t helpful at all as just adds another thing to worry about. however if you can I would try not to stress about pregnancy and just focus on getting better so lots and lots of rest. I’m sure before you know it you will be feeling right as rain!

@LF82 @Jx3303 im feeling exhausted too! I wasn’t sure if it was related to the injections or not as I don’t remember having this last time but it’s interesting to hear you two feel the same!

I know how you feel about the injections they aren’t fun….I do mine all myself as my OH is a bit scared of needles and doesn’t come near them. He also works late quite late so is normally back after I have done them. But we are all getting there hopefully not too many more to go!!

@Crystal88 great plan in sorting out all your scans and stuff before the holiday! Then hopefully you will be super relaxed when you come back and be in the best place to start the next round! 🤞

@LF82 yeah I am feeling bloated too and am trying to drink lots of water!! I went a walk at lunch time and felt more puffed than usual! Hopefully it's all a good sign 🤞🏻

@Foreverhoping33 sorry to hear you're exhausted too! Think the meds do take it out of us! Not to mention the emotional side to it all! Definitely not fun doing the meds yourself! I'm used to just sitting there and OH doing them. Proud of myself and hopefully tonight and tomorrow are better, I need to just not panic!! Xx

@Crystal88 thank you! Went ok I think - 6/7 follicles that they were happy with size wise and a few smaller ones that I am going might catch up. Next scan on monday. hope all well with you

@LF82 that's great news! Really pleased for you. All going in the right direction for me too, next scan Monday as well. They are much better spaced out this time, I had 3 in a row first cycle as I had one dominant follicle the whole time! Hoping I can relax this weekend and catch up on sleep and get rid of this damn cold. OH and pup coming down tomorrow and I can't wait ❤️❤️❤️

Hello lovely so glad to hear your scans went well @Jx3303 and @LF82 ! mine unfortunately did not go so well…

i was hoping with injections my lining would be thicker and I would be told do to trigger. But so far lining is only 5.9mm only 0.3mm up from Monday. Waiting for a call this afternoon on next steps but I think looking likely cycle will be cancelled again.

feeling very down as I don’t know what else we can do and feel like all the injections have now been for nothing 😞. Have decided to take a sick day from work and cry.

if anyone has any tips how to increase lining I am all ears! Xxx

@Jx3303 i think I am over the worst just feeling tired and sniffly now , thank you for asking 💕
@Foreverhoping33 im sorry you didn’t get the thickness you were hoping for, on one of my cycles I was at 6 and then 2 days later made it to 7. I remember googling at the time and I tired using a hot water bottle on my belly (acupuncturist said has same impact as acupuncture) and I went for long walks to get the blood circulating. Might be worth a try xx

@Hopewishprayer thanks for this I will be desperately doing both this weekend. Just hope when doctors call this afternoon I can persuade them to scan me again on Monday before cancelling cycle.

@Foreverhoping33 oh no I'm really sorry it's not what you'd hoped for today. I really hope that your cycle isn't cancelled and they can see you again next week in the hope that it's increased some more 🤞🏻 I'm glad you've take the day off, this is so hard and the appointments really take their toll, especially when it's not the news we'd hoped for 😞

@Foreverhoping33 i hope they didn’t cancel your cycle, it can thicken up quite quickly at times, fingers crossed for you.
my scan isn’t until 19th April, no idea how I am going to make it, last 2 days I’ve been so anxious.
@Jx3303 yeah I spoke to the clinic but was pretty useless just said to rest and try not to worry, no reassurance given whatsoever 🙁

Hi all thanks for your lovely messages. I have another scan on Monday now so have the weekend for lining to thicken up 🤞🤞🤞🤞.
any tricks please let me know! otherwise I’m just going to be exercising all weekend 😅. Xxx

@Hopewishprayer nice relaxing weekend in bed then, I remember when I had my Egg transfer last time I was really ill afterwards I was convinced it was covid but it wasn’t lots of fluid and rest

for me I have a weekend of painting fence panels if weather is ok, if not I might start packing, for holidays and then try a stay positive for my baseline scan Monday. I’ve had a really bad March with various things happening and stressing me out. So hoping April is a more positive and better month for me xx
