IVF cycle November 2022

HJen22 · 09/11/2022 13:18

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

Yess, I think that’s what I need to do, is get signed off work, because every single time I have an appointment I have to give appointment letter and sometimes I get called into appointments last minute x

Manc80 · 10/11/2022 11:40

Hi @HJen22 and everyone else! I have just joined and I’m also currently undergoing IVF. I’m 42 and have endometriosis with very low AMH (1.8) and 6-7 follicles. First round in August got to an early blast transfer but BFN and had transfer yesterday from 2nd round with a much better developed blastocyst 🤞🏼. Good luck to everyone and looking forward to having some buddies on this rollercoaster!

Crystal88 · 10/11/2022 13:38

i started my injection ( Bemfola 225 unit) on Monday, so far no issues. 1st Scan tomorrow, trying not to stress but I am, has I have had no real side effects so not sure if they are working.

First round NHS at Create in Wolverhampton/ Birmingham

hopefulivfer · 10/11/2022 14:09

@Manc80 Good luck with your TWW.
@Crystal88 Good luck to you too! I’m also with Create, on Bemfola at a lower dose. I have 6 follicles developing. Hoping that they contain a viable healthy egg. As they say it only takes one….
@HSingh15 forget work. I know it’s easier said than done but they’ll have to cope!
Its important that you don’t get stressed during this crucial time x

Crystal88 · 10/11/2022 14:11

@hopefulivfer thank you what stage of the cycle are you

Manc80 · 10/11/2022 14:19

Thank you @hopefulivfer good luck with your retrieval. If you can, please share how it goes as I’ve read a lot about the Create low-stim approach and really keen to see if it does work well for older ladies like us (I’m 43 in 2 months). I’ve been on really high/max stims for my two rounds and I have wondered if that’s had a negative impact. Wishing you lots of luck for your scans and retrieval and beyond.

hopefulivfer · 10/11/2022 14:37

Hi @Crystal88
I’m day 8 of my cycle, day 7 stims. Maybe halfway to 2/3rd through. I have another scan on Saturday and then hopefully we will have a clearer idea when egg retrieval might be.

@Manc80 wishing you a BFP at the end of your TWW. I was so impatient last time - I tested every other day which only compounded my stress.
Will definitely keep you posted. We’re doing 3 back to back cycles so only a transfer at the end if we’re lucky x

Manc80 · 10/11/2022 14:59

Thank you, day one has been spent in bed watching Netflix and eating broth and pineapple! I planned to do just one day like this then back to work for a distraction. I wish you all the love and luck @hopefulivfer three rounds back to back must be hard work both physically and mentally but will be worth it in the end I’m sure. x

HJen22 · 10/11/2022 19:10

Hi @Manc80 welcome ❤️ and congrats on being PUPO! Wishing you all the best for your transfer. What do you have planned to pass the TWW?

@Crystal88 I started bemfola on Monday too and first scan tomorrow too! I'm on 150ui as doing three mild cycles back to back. My NHS rounds we did 300ui max menopur, really hoping the less is more approach works better for us 🙏🏻

@hopefulivfer how did your scan go today? That's us arrived in Manchester. I was so paranoid i'd forget meds or something, they had to come in a cool bag! But a stress free journey down and our Airbnb is lovely and dog seems happy too 🐶

I agree regarding work, I decided to this time take days off (I had holidays left) to try and relax more. If you can take time off, do it. You can self certify for 7 days before you need a Drs line and all I did was an econsult with my GP and they gave me a line for a month. I only ended taking 2 on top of the week I self certified for but I really needed it. I'm glad I put my mental health first xx

Thank you @HJen22 and welcome to Manchester 😊 I’m going to go back to work tomorrow but will be working from home so taking it easy. I took time off last time so wanting to do everything differently this time in the hope of a different outcome 🤞🏼. Glad you’re getting settled and good luck for your scan/s when they arrive

Crystal88 · 10/11/2022 20:06

@HJen22 good luck for tomorrow you will need to let me know how it goes

HJen22 · 10/11/2022 20:12

@Manc80 thank you for the welcome! Are you with Create?

Yeah it's good to change it up, hopefully work will keep your mind busy but not too busy or stressful. Thank you for the good luck!

@Crystal88 thank you! Good luck for your scan too! I hope it goes well, let us know ❤️

Crystal88 · 11/11/2022 10:32

@HJen22 scan went ok i think, she said womb lining was developing nicely, follicles were small but nothing to worry about. Next Scan Monday and then i will be having to take second jab to prevent ovulation. Saying next Friday for Egg collection. How did yours go? X

Manc80 · 11/11/2022 11:17

No I’m not with Create @HJen22 I’m with Care, but very interested in hearing about how it goes with them as I was on very high stims so keen to see how the multiple/low stim approach goes for everyone.

Glad your scan went well @Crystal88 😊

HJen22 · 11/11/2022 11:51

@Crystal88 glad to hear all went well ❤️ ours was ok too, I'm adding in cetrotide today (we're back to the house to do it now and then in the AM from now on). I had a dominant follicle at 17mm so to not lose that one. He said it was probably growing before my period which is strange. We have another scan Monday as well and Dr didn't mention collection yet so not too sure still! X

OP posts:
HJen22 · 11/11/2022 11:58

Actually I don't think it was 17mm, I'm getting confused with what we were talking about size wise and when it's mature etc for going to collection, so ignore that. It was much bigger than the others though xx

OP posts:
Crystal88 · 11/11/2022 12:02

@HJen22 we both look like we are on the right track. Keep me updated on Monday Scan. I am so glad i have IVF Buddy :) xx

HJen22 · 11/11/2022 12:07

@Crystal88 it def wasn't 17mm cos it was below the line on his computer! I get confused/overwhelmed easily haha. I almost started crying for no reason!

It was so busy when we were there and we got taken late which was making me more nervous by the minute!

I know it's nice to have people going through it at the same time who fully understand what it's like isn't it!

I had planned to just go a wander about wilmslow after our app but we had to come back for the injection. I'll probably take a walk once its done. I was admiring all of the lovely houses on my dog walk this morning. I hope you have some nice weekend plans? Xx

OP posts:
Crystal88 · 11/11/2022 12:14

@HJen22 they never told me how big mine, but guessing has i am not due to take cetrotide until after monday scan that i am little behind you but she didnt seem worried. My leg was shaking with nervous lol, and i got emotional too, it just felt so real. Not sure on plans yet, i am sure my BF will try and take my mind off everything by taking me out the weekend xmas shopping :)

enjoy your walk xx

HJen22 · 11/11/2022 12:23

@Crystal88 don't worry though, I have a low AFC so never have many follicles. I was surprised one was so obvious to see as I've had none worth counting on one ovary before! So you won't be behind, I just had one strangely bigger one right now.

I was the same, my leg was going and I had to go to the toilet twice!

Aw Christmas shopping will be lovely!

@hopefulivfer how are you? Do you have your next scan booked in? Xx

OP posts:
hopefulivfer · 11/11/2022 13:16

@HJen22
I’m ok, trying to distract myself.
I have another scan tomorrow. Hopefully will know a bit more about possible egg retrieval at this appointment. Hope all is well
with you.

Good luck to the rest of you on this rollercoaster journey x

CNizzle · 11/11/2022 16:52

Hey, can I join. Had my retrieval on Tuesday, and going in for my transfer 🤞 on Sunday.
This is my second cycle, first earlier in the year only got one cavitating morula which implanted, but didn't make it to 8 weeks sadly.
This round we've got 2 embryos that have successfully got 8 cells each at day 3 although one is "a little uneven" apparently, but this might sort itself out we're hoping.
I'm ancient... 42, trying for 1st child & based in Scotland.
Excited but terrified.

Crystal88 · 11/11/2022 17:10

@CNizzle
all the best

hope it all turns out well

you will need to keep us all updated

I’m at day 5, just had 1st scan and 2nd one on Monday x

Manc80 · 11/11/2022 17:16

You sound very similar to me @CNizzle, minus the Scotland part, however I do love it up there! Hope you feel ok after your retrieval and your transfer went ok, had mine on Wednesday so hoping it sticks 🤞🏼

Manc80 · 11/11/2022 17:17

Sorry I meant hope transfer goes ok! @CNizzle
