Hi everyone.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone going through an IVF round in the next few weeks. I am currently on my third round of ICSI after a MMC at 9weeks on cycle 1 and a BFN on cycle 2. Third time lucky, I hope!

IVF can feel like a very lonely place sometimes so it's nice to have somewhere to vent and get advice 🙂

Thank you everyone! You’ve made me feel better about the injections getting easier!

very good point about getting my partner involved! He’s brought me a little gift for each injection I get through lol 😂 im
totally milking it!

Did you get many side effects? I’m on 375 units of ovaleap to start

how is everyone feeling?

Tonim86 · 06/10/2022 21:21

@Spink2022 I wanna say I was on 350 dose of ovaleap it seems like ages ago. We did icsi and then PGT testing after so freeze all round. I found the injections totally fine but suffered with OHSS near the end they pushed me an extra couple of days to get as many mature eggs as possible and that weren't nice but went away after a week or so after EC. EC was also fine I enjoyed the nap although I know some people stay awake threw it I was out cold straight away 😆 the worst is probably waiting to see how many of any make it to day 5

Spink2022 · 06/10/2022 21:44

@Tonim86 oh no they’ve warned about OHSS but I’m low risk I think because of my ovarian disorder I think. I’ve only got 4 follicules on my right side and my ovary is tiny.

omg I really hope I sleep through my EC!! When I had my laparoscopy I had general anaesthetic and I loved it lol!

im most worried at the moment about the morning infections because I heard they’re painful but I might try getting some numbing cream.

im not even thinking about how many eggs, embryos etc atm. Just trying to stick to one injection at a time! They did warn us that we would be looking at small numbers. My amh is only 6 which is really low for my age. But hoping for great quality!

how did you find the transfer? When can you test?

Tonim86 · 06/10/2022 22:19

@Spink2022 yea just take one day one injection at a time tbh I didn't find any difference between morning and night injections just sometimes the odd one hurt and bruised and by the end felt tender. Yea don't worry too much about numbers it only takes one and few good quality is better than lots of poor quality.
Transfer is just kinda like having a smear test your clamped and then like a catheter inserted didn't take too long about 20 mins just uncomfortable because you need a full bladder

Hello all. I had my EC y'day and 13 eggs were retrieved.i got a call today that 7 fertilised and I shud come for transfer on Tuesday.
Pls is this a good number?

Eggling · 07/10/2022 20:00

Thanks @RoseLlo 😊

Hi @Zik congrats on having had EC! 7 is a great number, really positive that you've got the date set for transfer. Will keep my fingers crossed for your embryos to continue developing well!

Having some cramping today, trying (and failing) not to symptom spot and to stay off Google. I know it could be something or nothing so no point dwelling anyway!

greentreeseverywhere · 07/10/2022 20:18

Hi all
I couldn't sleep last night so I did a test at 5am and sadly it was negative not even a hint of a line (it was an early sensitive one) so today iv spent most of the day crying and googling

My actual test day is Monday so I know (and my husband keeps repeating) it isn't actually over yet! but I know deep down it is and I feel abit more at peace this evening about it 😌

So Monday come happy news or sad news I'm going to take my daughter out for the day and bunk off school and work and just have a really fun day

Nobabyyet20 · 07/10/2022 21:52

Hi all!
this is my first ivf cycle it feels like it’s taken so long to get this this point! Tomorrow will be day 3 of injections. Feel okay so far just more headaches than usual. How are you all feeling? Xx lots of baby dust x

Spin101 · 07/10/2022 23:50

@greentreeseverywhere 😔😔 I hope it isn’t over for you. How many dpt are you?

@Zik 7 sounds great! Fingers crossed for them to make it to day 5!

@RoseLlo hope you’re recovering well! ❤️‍🩹

Spin101 · 07/10/2022 23:53

What day did most of you start your stims on? Do you think it makes a difference whether it’s day 2 or day 3?

greentreeseverywhere · 08/10/2022 07:26

@Spin101 it was Saturday so 7 days so surely there should be some line

Frenchwindows · 08/10/2022 08:09

Ahhhh I’m so happy I can finally join this thread!! I’ve started injections on my first cycle finally!

@Nobabyyet20 Hiiii I’m almost the same as you! First cycle, second day of injections today!! Are you on the short protocol?

@Spin101 I started mine on day 2, but honestly don’t think it matters - I was worrying what happens over the weekend if my period came then but the nurses plan for that and can book you in ASAP. I think I remember you’re at Kingston - they’re really good at responding to emails - I emailed on a Thursday morning and they replied moments later booking me in for the Fri

Tonim86 · 08/10/2022 09:39

@greentreeseverywhere 7dpt is still really early try again at 9dpt you could of implanted late and HCG doubles every 48hrs thinking of you it's so hard I only had my transfer Thursday and it's on my mind constantly

Tonim86 · 08/10/2022 09:40

@Frenchwindows @Nobabyyet20 welcome both wishing you all lots of luck 🍀 x

bathbombaholic · 08/10/2022 10:05

@greentreeseverywhere I agree 7dpt is very early, that's why they give you the specific day to test. Go and do something fun this weekend to try and take your mind off it (I know it's nearly impossible) thinking of you x

Nobabyyet20 · 08/10/2022 12:23

@Frenchwindows i know it feels like it’s taken so long just to get to this point. 3 years for us! Career changes and clomid cycles included and obvs trying naturally. I think I’m a day ahead of you. My first scan is tuesday. They’ve told me I might have to wait a further 2 months after retrieval for transfer as I’m likely to develop OHSS 😞

@Tonim86 thanks for the welcome. I don’t feel so lonely now! X

@greentreeseverywhere I second what the ladies above have said. I googled this morning after seeing your message and 9-12 dpt seems to be the window for testing. I hope it’s good news for you!!

@Frenchwindows lovely to see you on this thread! I’m glad to hear they respond asap. I have the same concerns, I’m worried about starting my period late on Friday and then having to wait until Monday to have my scan and start stims, but I guess a day isn’t going to make too much of a difference?

@RoseLlo I should be starting at the end of next week, fingers crossed. I just picked up my meds and have two packs of 75IU menopur sachets, along with fyrenadel, cyclogest. The hospital will give me the needles for menopur when I go in for my scan. Is that what you had too? Hoping the mixing is straight forward!

Spin101 · 08/10/2022 17:56

@RoseLlo I honestly don’t know how they calculate it all! I think perhaps my high AMH with PCOS and low BMI means they have put me on a lower dosage. I recall you saying you have PCOS too. My fear is the dosage will be too low, but they did say they can tailor it after my scan. I have 6 boxes of fyremadel, so not sure when I will start them yet. Thank you for the numbing tip!! Are you still abroad for treatment?

Frenchwindows · 08/10/2022 18:24

@Tonim86 Thank you for the welcome! Looking forward to following everyone’s journeys and hoping for loads of good news.

@Nobabyyet20 Gosh it’s crazy isn’t it what happens along side such a huge thing. For me so many life changes have happened over the last two years but infertility has been like a big cloud looming over everything. I was told the same re OHSS - I have high AMH and TONS of follicles (pco but not the syndrome) so I’m on the lowest dose of stims and hopefully all will be well but if I over respond it will be a freeze all cycle and if it comes to that I think the delay will be hard to cope with :/

@Spin101 yes don’t worry, if it made a difference starting on the Friday then they would def do something different!

@Frenchwindows thank you for the reassurance! I hope you’re able to have your fresh cycle! The doctor mentioned OHSS risk to me too but I didn’t realise/think about the wait for the frozen cycle.

@RoseLlo 😂 Dosages might also be different because you’re abroad. I feel in the US, they must use higher dosages as they seem to collect lots of eggs from the insta posts I’ve seen. I hope you’re enjoying relaxing and time to yourself! :)
