Hi everyone.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone going through an IVF round in the next few weeks. I am currently on my third round of ICSI after a MMC at 9weeks on cycle 1 and a BFN on cycle 2. Third time lucky, I hope!

IVF can feel like a very lonely place sometimes so it's nice to have somewhere to vent and get advice 🙂

Yes, me too feel a bit in limbo today waiting for something to happen, I’m a bit worried about feeling rubbish this week and being in work as no one knows but I guess you’ve just got to take it each day at a time!

My sister in law has been on this journey for the last few years and she’s now pregnant so trying to stay positive 🙏

hope you found the injections okay!

Hope you don't mind me hopping on! Started injections Wednesday, first scan this Wednesday coming. This will be my 3rd transfer after 2 BFN's so feeling tentatively hopeful!

MrsMacttc · 25/09/2022 23:28

@RoseLlo i hope you don't mind me
asking but is there a reason you've chosen to go abroad? Are you not eligible for nhs treatment in the uk?

I am a total bag of nerves, I've struggled with my weight since day one, I'll be honest -
I m not massively overweight.. the bmi criteria is 30 and I'm currently 31 (have fluctuated over the last 4 years by about 1st either way) but I have this fear that I'm going to walk in tomorrow and they'll take one look at me and say "no sorry ur too fat" 😣

@Achaps I'm a week behind you, due to start over leap tonight. How are you finding the injections? I'm feeling quite anxious about it and scared I'm going to do it wrong 😭

Achaps · 27/09/2022 14:03

Hi 👋 @bathbombaholic ah good luck but you’ll be fine it felt so much better to get started, I hardly slept the night before but ovaleap was fine, really thin needle so hardly felt it - just had a mild headache first/second day. I’m now onto fyramadel which isn’t the nicest, thicker needle and stings a bit but doesn’t last long. My husband has been an amazing nurse doing them for me as not sure I could do them myself 😅

Eggling · 27/09/2022 14:32

Hope it's ok if I join you all. Will read through messages and try and catch up with where everyone is later!

I'm heading into an FET cycle after a failed cycle earlier in summer, it's our last frostie so I'm really feeling the pressure. Trying for our second, DD from our first round is 16 months. Didn't expect it to feel this hard again tbh but I'm finding it just the same, if not harder as not in lockdown so I have to actually juggle the logistics of all the appointments plus real life! Hoping and praying that this one sticks. Wishing you all lots of luck!

MrsMacttc · 27/09/2022 15:27

@RoseLlo omg that is so unfair! What a shambles 😳well done to you for persevering and getting to this point! You are an absolute trooper, wil you be having a fresh embryo transfer?

I was right, the first thing they did was weighed me and I'm 6lbs over so we were turned away 😣I was naive to think that they would be lenient with me but they did say that if I can lose the weight quickly that I could be rebooked in and wouldn't need to go to the bottom of the waiting list so fingers crossed for next month. While it is only 6lbs I have majorly struggled with losing weight, even when I eat well and exercise more I just can't seem to shift it 😣 but I'm feeling more positive today and hopeful for next month 😊

@MrsMacttc oh no sorry to hear that did they make you take your shoes off etc when they did your height I literally bounce around the 30 bmi and last time I did really think to much but the trainers I wore added 2cms to my height and my bmi was fine I know some clinics are stricter than others. A girl mentioned she braids her hair to add height too. 1/2cms makes a difference on bmi so make-sure you stand up really tall.

@RoseLlo that's so unfair of the NHS I thought the age was 40? I really hope the treatment goes well In Czech Republic I have heard good things on the Facebook page I follow.

@Eggling praying this FET works for you this time round I think we are on another thread from a couple of months ago. We are doing our first FET this month our 2nd round we have DD from round 1 also.

Tonim86 · 27/09/2022 17:52

@C1umsyGiraffe good luck I hope this round is the one 🤞

MrsMacttc · 27/09/2022 18:08

@RoseLlo it can be hard to know what to do for the best but would agree that ur better to try and then whatever happens you'll know that you did everything you could.

Couch 2 5k is defo something I think I'd need a buddy for 🤔 can see my poor husband being roped into this or one of the dogs lol

@Tonim86 they didn't even take my height this time because "that won't have changed" but yeah last time I did try to stand on my tippy toes without making it too obvious and kept my trainers on lol how are you doing?

bathbombaholic · 27/09/2022 23:11

@Achaps you were right- not as bad as expected at all! Yes I start the 2nd one Thursday, waaaa!! Lovely that your hubby is doing for you ❤️ mine helped me but I wanted to do myself as I work some evenings so will need to do when he's not there x

@RoseLlo oh that's so unfair but I really hope going away works out for you I heard they are great 🤞
Yes lining scan on Friday to see if it's thick to start the progesterone ready for FET I assume next week exciting times

Achaps · 28/09/2022 14:18

@bathbombaholic ah that’s good! Are you also on fyremadal and then gonasi? I can’t believe how quick this week is going, still anxious for Friday but glad I’m feeling better than expected. Trousers are feeling tight today though as definitely getting bloated 😅 either that or it’s the extra chocolate I think we deserve 😂

@Achaps yes same meds- we must be on the same protocol. My tentative egg collection is 10th October. Glad is going quickly for you- is your scan Friday? Just did second ova leap and all good so far Smile

Tonim86 · 30/09/2022 17:03

Went for my lining scan today all looking good I think it was 9.8mm start on progesterone pessaries tomorrow embryo transfer on Thursday will be having progesterone levels checked Wednesday and if low will start Lubion, our clinic never use to do this when had round in 2018 so looks like they have made some improvements. Actually feeling excited now ☺️ hope everyone is doing ok

Achaps · 30/09/2022 17:56

I had my scan today, all went much better than expected got over 35 follicles and 22 large ones so I’m set for my collection Monday 😬 the only problem is I can’t have a fresh transfer as I’m now at risk for Overstimulation so will be taking it easy this weekend! @RoseLlo hope your scan went okay 🙏

bathbombaholic · 30/09/2022 18:29

Great to see you updates @Achaps and @Tonim86 soooo excited for both of you 😁

@Achaps defo take it easy over the weekend lots of rest. Have you got Monday booked off work?

I just did my first Fyremadel... that was a stingy one 🥴

Tonim86 · 30/09/2022 18:30

@Achaps drink lucozade sport and drink coconut water I was sick of them both by the end of it I had it after this round was horrible have they started you on some medication to help reduce it? Wow that's lots of follicles hopefully they will get lots of mature eggs. We collected 25 on my round and 20 was mature
