IVF cycle Sept/Oct 2022

Hi everyone.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone going through an IVF round in the next few weeks. I am currently on my third round of ICSI after a MMC at 9weeks on cycle 1 and a BFN on cycle 2. Third time lucky, I hope!

IVF can feel like a very lonely place sometimes so it's nice to have somewhere to vent and get advice 🙂

Hi all, thanks for all you best wishes for yesterday! So all in all has gone pretty well, they ended up getting 21 eggs, 20 were suitable for ICSI and today we’ve found out 10 have fertilised 🙏 so just got to hope some survive this week for freezing! Such a relief as we didn’t know the quality of my husbands sperm as he has CF.
I’m now on strict instructions to drink lots of water and relax 😅

@RoseLlo sorry you have shingles- never had it but heard it's not nice 🙁 lots of rest for you I think!

@greentreeseverywhere I hope the next few days go quickly for you - the waiting is so hard! Fingers crossed those symptoms are the little embryo making them self at home.

We are set for transfer on Thursday afternoon, unfortunately all of my plans for being organised and chilled out this week have been scuppered by toddler DD's sickness bug which means I'm trying to juggle work and childcare, plus been left in the lurch by a colleague so now have important work I'll have to do Thursday evening. Also haven't been able to get a response from my acupuncturist to confirm appointment times. All small things but I'm a control freak and taking them together it's not the plan I had in mind!

@greentreeseverywhere did you only stim for 7 days due to your first scan? I've got mine tomorrow and having a few pains and wondering if I might be ready a bit early 🤷🏽‍♀️

@bathbathbombaholic yes first scan they were bigger than they expected and second scan they were nearly perfect so they brought everything forward by 3 days.

this afternoon my lower back is very painful but it's also miserable and cold here and iv sat at my desk most the day 🙃 for ever symptom spotting 🙈

@greentreeseverywhere aww yeah the TWW is the worst anyway but when doing this it's gotta be worse! I'm dreading it 🫣

@Eggling Sorry you have to worry about work on transfer day!! Hope transfer goes well!!
How long have you been having acupuncture for? I only started last week (as I procrastinated too much prior to that) and will start stims end of next week. Hope I still get some benefits of it. I’m trying to work out whether it’s ok to continue with it during stims and between EC and transfer.

@Spin101 I've only ever done acupuncture just before and after transfer. The woman I go to specialises in ivf acupuncture, I think she does it through the whole process but not 100% on the protocol. She wasn't available last time so I went to someone else, I know that wasn't the reason the last transfer didn't work but im glad we've hopefully managed to squeeze the sessions in this time.

Good luck today @Tonim86! I'm booked for transfer at 2.30, praying I don't get a call this morning to say embryo hasn't made it. Baby dust for us both!!

Same I'm 2.30pm too we literally going to be transfer twins 😂 I hope it goes well I'm working today so hopefully keeps me distracted till I have to go. Now I'm overthinking everything down to what will be best the lunch to have 😩. Keep us updated with how you get on

Officially PUPO 🎉🎉 transfer went well the embryo they transferred thawed well and stayed top grade 5AA OTD 18th in 12 days 😬😬🤞 xx

Hi I hope it’s okay to join this thread. I’m a little behind all of you. it’s my first round and Im doing short protocol and I started my injections yesterday.

I’m 28 and I’ve got low amh, stage 3 endo, a generic ovarian disorder and both of my Fallopian tubes are damaged. My husband has abnormal sperm results so we’re also having ICSI.

This is all very new to me and i don’t know anyone going through it so thought I would post on here!

I tried to do my own injection yesterday but im really scared of needles and went into full panic mode. My husband did it in the end and it was fine so he’s going to do them from now on. Im dreading the morning ones from day 6. He will have to give them to me at 5:30am before work because there’s no way I can do it!

Hi @Spink2022 welcome to the group I think a few people may be still injecting ore waiting for FET so you might not be too far behind.
Honestly the injections will get easier you will find you don't even end up thinking about it becomes 2nd nature and the first is the worst one

Fab news @Tonim86!! My transfer was fine, I was a nervous wreck that the embryo wouldn't make it but fortunately it did. 3bb and it was still collapsed when they put it in but the embryologist said that was fine and it could expand inside. Just a waiting game now, going to try and stay positive!

Hi @Spink2022 I did ICSI too, also got DH to do all my jabs (he's a scientist so I said he'd be more precise but really I didn't want to do them!) you definitely get used to them quickly.
