IVF cycle Sept/Oct 2022

Hi everyone.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone going through an IVF round in the next few weeks. I am currently on my third round of ICSI after a MMC at 9weeks on cycle 1 and a BFN on cycle 2. Third time lucky, I hope!

IVF can feel like a very lonely place sometimes so it's nice to have somewhere to vent and get advice 🙂

@Frenchwindows I also have PCO and did get OHSS, which meant delaying transfer and having a freeze all cycle. I'll be honest, I was gutted at the time, and the delay initially felt unbearable BUT with hindsight it went really quickly and gave me chance to get my body back in balance so it was definitely the right move. I know how hard it is when you're desperate to be pregnant though and it seems the goalposts keep moving!

@Frenchwindows ah sounds as if your in the same boat as me! I go for my scan on Wednesday to see how I’m getting on, I know I really don’t want to wait 2 months so hoping for good news on weds. I know exactly what you mean about dark cloud it’s been all I think about for 3 years, it’s the most difficult thing I’ve gone through in my adult life tbh. I would love to have a word with my sex Ed teacher who warned me basically if I looked at a penis i would get pregnant 😂

@Eggling thanks for the advice around the wait, if it’s for the best for potential baby then that’s what needs to be done but just frustrating.

hope everyone’s okay I’m on day 4 of injections and have started to worry that I’m not responding as I’m not really that hormonal yet. X I imagine I’m overthinking that though. X

@Nobabyyet20 don't worry about not being hormonal. I haven't been at all. The only things I've noticed (I'm having egg collection tomorrow) is really sore boobs but this has only come on in the last few days. Day 4 I felt normal x

@bathbombaholic ah thanks for that reassurance the only side effect I’ve had is more headaches. Good luck for your egg collection! Are you going straight for a fresh transfer? X

@Nobabyyet20 yes straight for fresh. This is my first time so really nervous 🫣 just got to hope for the best

Hi ladies, been a bit quiet on here as been waiting for news on our embryos and trying to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the same time! But got some good news today that we’ve got 4 frozen embryos so super relieved 😅 I was also a bit panicky yesterday as started my period which seemed very soon only 5 days when they said it’d be 2 weeks but apparently it can happen especially as I have short cycles so that’s good!

thanks guys my retrieval is planned for the 17th.. first scan on Wednesday to see how I’m doing. How many follicles is expected on the first scan?

@Achaps such lovely news about your 4 embryos. When do you go in for your transfer wishing you all the best xx

@Nobabyyet20 ah sorry good luck for 17th! Glad your getting on okay with injections :) so will have a follow up appointment this week to discuss my transfer but I think we might try and start afresh in January, we both have have birthdays Nov, Dec then with Xmas it seems like a lot going on so might get my body & mentally back to full strength and start then, we’re both exhausted from the stress 😩

@Achaps Great to hear you have 4 embryos in the freezer!! :) Did they decide to freeze due to risk of OHSS or were you having OHSS symptoms?

@Spin101 thanks :) just due to risk, I had 40+ follicles and 21 eggs, I think 20 is the threshold our clinic has for OHSS risk.

Started day 2..I don't think it makes much if a difference if it's day 2 or 3

@Tonim86 how are you getting on? I'm finding this tww really difficult, feel like I'm going insane! I can't remember it being this hard the last two times but I suppose it must have been.
