Hi everyone.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone going through an IVF round in the next few weeks. I am currently on my third round of ICSI after a MMC at 9weeks on cycle 1 and a BFN on cycle 2. Third time lucky, I hope!

IVF can feel like a very lonely place sometimes so it's nice to have somewhere to vent and get advice 🙂

@Frenchwindows if you're in too much pain to go for a walk I would call the clinic's out of hours number. I was bloated for a few days after but it wasn't painful, apart from some sharp pains which I think was implantation.

I got a BFP this morning - surreal!

bathbombaholic · 23/10/2022 10:40

@EvelynSalt yessssss girl!! Congratulations! Amazing news! 🥳🥳🥳 x

Frenchwindows · 23/10/2022 11:31

@Achaps thank you, let’s hope if this round doesn’t work then it goes away soon.

@EvelynSalt I think I will send them an email tomorrow. CONGRATULATIONS!!! What wonderful news 🤩 wishing you a really smooth journey ahead. How do you feel??

EvelynSalt · 23/10/2022 15:23

Thank you! I feel absolutely shattered to be honest but really pleased 😄

I ended up testing at about 3.30 this morning as I kept waking up. So I've only myself to blame for being knackered! Some weird cramps and things too but trying to just relax into it and not stress about different feelings.

countrypunk · 23/10/2022 18:49

Congratulations @EvelynSalt 🥳 It's so lovely to read news like this.

How have others' experiences with buserelin been? I don't want to put anyone off taking it because of course it's different for every woman, but I'm struggling. My emotions are all over the place and I'm crying a lot, and I feel absolutely exhausted. I've also been horrible to my partner (although to be fair to me he hasn't been the most understanding of it all). Has anyone else been through this and is there anything that helps?

Spin101 · 23/10/2022 19:51

@EvelynSalt 🥰🥰🥰 that’s amazing news!! I’m really happy for you!!

@Frenchwindows I hope you are feeling better today!!

@countrypunk Sorry to hear about the impact of buserelin :( I didn’t take it so am unable to comment, sorry! This isn’t an easy journey for any of us and I hope your partner becomes more understanding xx

countrypunk · 23/10/2022 19:54

Thank you @Spin101, your supportive comment helps in itself 🙂 x

EvelynSalt · 23/10/2022 21:13

@countrypunk I didn't take it but definitely had moments of what I can only describe as wild emotion, so I empathise. All I can say is be gentle with yourself - allow yourself time and space to rest if you can. Give yourself a break, your body and mind are going through a huge amount.

I'm sorry your partner isn't being as supportive as you need. Might be worth asking really clearly for specific things, e.g. if I get upset about something, I need a hug rather than a row!

Tonim86 · 23/10/2022 21:54

@EvelynSalt congratulations so happy to read this you must be very happy 🥳🥰

countrypunk · 23/10/2022 22:32

@EvelynSalt Wild emotion is definitely the term! Thank you. I've had a really busy weekend and it's all been a bit much. I'll take your advice and will go gently on myself.

I feel bad for saying that about my partner now. He is very loving, but I think it's impossible for men to truly understand how this all feels for us. How could they?

Best of luck with your pregnancy. You must be over the moon ❤️

Nobabyyet20 · 24/10/2022 08:54

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here I have really struggled after my EC. I got OHSS and have felt so ill! Finally feel myself again after 7 days although still bloated. Hope everyone’s okay! Hard to catch up with everything.
we have 4 embryos in storage for when I’m ready. I feel ridiculously attached to them already and can’t wait for transfer day just need to be patient as could be a while depending on AF.

bathbombaholic · 24/10/2022 10:09

@Nobabyyet20 oh no! Sorry to hear you have been poorly 😫 so glad you're f feeling better now- no experience of OHSS but sounds awful!

Spink2022 · 24/10/2022 12:18

@Nobabyyet20 that sounds horrible. I hope you feel better soon.

i had my d5 transfer today. 2 of my 3 made it but were a little behind and not quite blastocysts so they transferred both! 🙏🙏🙏

Tonim86 · 24/10/2022 13:23

@Spink2022 oh I hope you have a sticky one when is for OTD?

@Nobabyyet20 I had horrible OHSS never had it with my first round it was awful but did start calming down after 7 days was so happy to see AF. I had to go get checked twice I was just getting bigger and bigger was conveniently when it was 40 degree heat too 😩 I feel your discomfort it will get easier 🤞

badassmum22 · 24/10/2022 13:39

Hope it's ok for me to jump in.
Had my EC beginning of the month which resulted in 3 frosties. Having my appt with the Consultant this Friday to plan the transfer. I have never had a frozen transfer, how long does the prepping take? My stim cycle was full on meds so I'm expecting to have medicated transfer rather than natural. How did you prepare for the transfer in terms of supplements, food etc if any? Thanks x

Spink2022 · 24/10/2022 14:39

@Tonim86 4th November so only 10 days to wait really! Fingers crossed one sticks!

Tonim86 · 24/10/2022 14:49

@badassmum22 I did FET recently I was NHS though they made me wait until I had 2 AF after EC and then I started medication 10 days before my 3rd AF however this could differ for others as we had to wait several weeks for PGT results to come back but the time flew by I assuming if your are having an appointment soon they will discuss when to start and do you a script for meds hopefully you will start soon

Tonim86 · 24/10/2022 14:50

@Spink2022 I hope it goes quickly for you day4/5 definitely the hardest for sure 🤞

maybebaby2023 · 24/10/2022 15:41

Hey everyone,

I had my Day 5 scan this morning and 2 follicles were measuring 13mm and 6 or 7 were about 10mm. I think the remaining 7 or 8 were really quite small. I had my first dose of Cetrotide this morning as well and the next scan is Wednesday. They said ideally they want the 10mm ones to catch up a bit and the small ones probably won't be counted. I have no idea if this is good or not as I struggled to take it all in! Does anyone have any insight into this..?!

@badassmum22 i had my transfer meeting last week and was just told to track my ovulation for the next couple of cycles as can only have a natural transfer if you ovulate but no other advice really other than try to relax haha!
@Nobabyyet20 I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with OHSS :( fingers crossed you feel better soon! Just keep drinking lots of water!

Spin101 · 25/10/2022 10:12

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.

I had my day 8 scan yesterday. The nurse initially said they might have to do bloods based on the scan (as I was told I might be at risk of OHSS) and then didn’t say anything about it, which I assume is because my lining was thin on the scan (<5mm).

After she did the scan and took the measurements , she was ready to send me on my way. I had to ask to see how many follicles there were and at what size.

I had one dominant follicle and 10 between 11mm and 16mm and the rest less than 10mm. I tried to ask if this is ok and how we expect them to grow by the tentative EC day (Friday) but she just said “they’re growing it’s fine.”

How much progress did your follicles make between day 6ish scans and EC? I have another scan tomorrow and am worried I won’t get any further answers.

Spin101 · 25/10/2022 10:13

I guess my concern is should I be on more than 150IU menopur for the last few days

bathbombaholic · 25/10/2022 14:15

@Spin101 I can't remember the exact numbers- I have them written down somewhere but I also found the clinic vague when asking similar questions. They all sounds good numbers to me- I had less follicles and lower numbers and managed to get 4 good eggs to blasto. I know it's hard but try not to worry too much- they are growing that's the main thing x

Tonim86 · 25/10/2022 18:01

Hi @Spin101 those numbers sound great I wouldn't stress if they was concerned about anything they would of made adjustments. It's amazing how quickly some catch up we was similar to you at this point and ended up with 25 collected 20 mature we had quite a few less than 10 catch up
