Medicated FET what day was your transfer?

Hi everyone,

Embarking on another round of IVF and I’m having a FET next Tuesday. I went for a lining scan on CD8 and it was 6.1mm so returned yesterday CD11 and lining was above 7mm. I’m to start the dreaded progesterone pessaries on Thursday CD14 this week and my transfer is now booked for next Tuesday CD19.

Is this very late for a transfer? I’m getting myself all worried that it’s late and it’s going to impact the result of this cycle but being medicated does it not make a difference? Can anyone put my mind at ease?!

Many thanks!

@Gracie2021 that's completely out of order. I would be livid! Your gut instinct was right but how could medical professionals not predict this. Time is so precious to us all going through fertility issues. I really hope you have a strong word with them, this is no experiment.

Raspberrydelight · 05/07/2022 15:45

@Gracie2021 so sorry to hear that! You must be so annoyed with the clinic! Timing is everything with IVF. Wishing you lots of luck for your next cycle.

I’m 7dp5dt today and POAS… I know it’s too early but couldn’t stop myself. I’m still not getting my hopes up as such…. Or even feeling overly negative (after our missed miscarriage last time) just trying to focus on the right now. Fingers crossed it’s stays BFP!

@Raspberrydelight congratulations! You should absolutely be happy and excited that the embryo has implanted. Each small step is an achievement. I know that thought very well where you tell yourself not to get excited because at some point later down the line, you lost that previous embryo. But that shouldn't stop us from appreciating and revelling in however long this one lasts. Wishing you a healthy baby at the end of this!

Raspberrydelight · 05/07/2022 15:52

Thank you @EasterBunny7 such lovely words ❤️

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 15:58

@Raspberrydelight Congratulations that's a lovely strong positive. I am delighted for you. 😀

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 16:13

@EasterBunny7 Oh I will definitely be testing early. I have no patience. Like you, I will be starting the clexane from first BFP (fingers crossed) not the official test day. How many days are you now?

EasterBunny7 · 05/07/2022 16:30

@Hopefull1981 ohhh that's a relief to hear! I feel more confident doing the same too, now. Today, I am 4dp5dt.

How are you feeling?

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 16:41

@EasterBunny7 I am fine. I am in the office all week so hoping that takes my mind of it. How are you? Do you know when you will test?

Gracie2021 · 05/07/2022 16:56

@Raspberrydelight massive big congrats and such strong lines. Thrilled for you!

Thanks for the kind words @EasterBunny7 I've made a formal complaint and have a call with our doctor Thursday to discuss.

Justhopeful · 05/07/2022 17:11

@Happycrocodile i hope you got your meds in the end.

@Hopefull1981 keeping busy helps, it’s such an insane time, hope it goes by quickly for you.

@Gracie2021Yes it is my first Beta, I am not booked for a second one,
next appointment is the 6 week scan. So sorry about that cancelation of your transfer, really unfair how some of these clinics do this to us.

@flowersinmay
@@EasterBunny7 @lucymills1234 Fingers crossed for you all.

@Raspberrydelight massive congrats to you. Such great news.

I wish everyone here the best of luck.

EasterBunny7 · 05/07/2022 18:31

@Hopefull1981 so.....I've actually been testing since 3dp5dt. It came up blank so I could be assured that it wasn't leftover trigger. Today, 4dp5dt I got my bfp! It's a terribly faint line on my clearblue, did it randomly in the day and urine not very concentrated but the internet cheapies were showing a shadow of a line which was driving me mad, and I had to be sure. Also, I needed to know so that I could start the next round of medications, which I will be doing tonight!

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 20:38

Oh wow @EasterBunny7 congrats. You must be delighted.

EasterBunny7 · 05/07/2022 20:40

@Hopefull1981 thank you! I hope you join me (and us) very soon!

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 20:47

@EasterBunny7 gosh it seems like a long way away. I am off to the beach with the family this weekend try and distract myself. I cannot find frers for love nor money here. What other tests do you guys use?

EasterBunny7 · 05/07/2022 20:57

@Hopefull1981 it's always when you need something that you can't find it. I remember when I was trying to increase my uterus lining, I was looking for pomegranate juice but my local supermarkets did not have it on their shelves, of course!

Beach sounds lovely! Perhaps you may find something at the local chemist/supermarket on the way there/over there? When do you plan to attempt your first early test?

I have a large stash of internet cheapies, which are rubbish for early testing but perfectly adequate once hcg has risen substantially. By about 9dp5dt I have seen a definitive line, previously. I have used ClearBlue several times but have resorted to First Response on those desperate occasions when I realised I was miscarrying. It is the most sensitive (and most expensive!), so it would still show up a faint line despite the miscarriage occuring. I was just in a bad headspace where I was clinging to any hope and praying for a miracle.

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 21:11

@EasterBunny7 yeah I will have look around the some of the smaller pharmacies, the big ones just have clear blue. I hear ya on the pomegranate juice, my husband eventually found it and then I realised the local supermarket stocked it. Didn’t tell him 😂I think I will test Saturday morning. We will be driving 4 hours to my dads house on Friday so won’t bother that day (although a 4 hour hold might be good 😂😂😂)

lucymills1234 · 05/07/2022 21:18

@Gracie2021 Sorry that you’ve been so messed around. I’ve had a few really serious issues with my clinic in the past (freezing a non-viable blast on one occasion and transferring the wrong blast on another) and I know how much it shakes your confidence in the process. I hope the call on Thursday can restore your faith.

@Raspberrydelight @EasterBunny7 wow, congrats to you both. Both early positives so your hCG levels must be really good. Hope you can get scans booked in soon.

@Hopefull1981 are you in the uk? You can easily get FRERs on Amazon.

I’m resisting early testing despite the really long wait to 15dp. OTD only two days away now. I’m almost certain I am out though so afraid I’m going to be pulling down the average on this thread. Should know better by the 8th time around eh.

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 21:43

@lucymills1234 thanks for the message. I am in Ireland, I’ll look at Amazon.

you have great will power to hold off testing. I really hope this is the successful one for you. Do you test before you get bloods or do the clinic only do bloods if you have a positive test?

lucymills1234 · 05/07/2022 21:48

Hi @Hopefull1981 my clinic doesn’t do bloods at all. If you get a BFP on a home test they book in for a scan. That’s it. Seems unusual for a private clinic but that’s their standard process.

It’s not strength that’s holding me back from testing early at this point, it’s the sickening expectation of yet another bfn. This many unsuccessful transfers is more crushing than I can describe 😥

Hopefull1981 · 05/07/2022 21:59

@lucymills1234 I’ll be thinking of you. This journey is so tough, I admire your ability to keep going.

EasterBunny7 · 05/07/2022 22:22

@lucymills1234 I admire your resilience in the struggles you have faced for so long. I also admire how you've managed to hold out for OTD in comparison to my over eagerness! I have my fingers crossed for you!

Gracie2021 · 05/07/2022 22:27

Thanks @lucymills1234 this is actually their second big mistake. We had a cancelled ER too when they told me incorrect medication instructions so the trust is low. Can't imagine the strength it's taken to go through so many transfers. Can see how easier not to know one way or another at times. All crossables crossed for you xx

@EasterBunny7 fantastic news. So thrilled for you and again lovely strange lines for so early. Hope all continues smoothly.

@Justhopeful hope the six week scan comes quickly for you 🤞 yeah I hate the way they treat it all so cavalierly. Think they forget how much emotion people have tied up in this.

flowersinmay · 06/07/2022 04:58

Hi all, so great to hear everyone's updates!

@Gracie2021 I'm so so sorry to hear what has happened to you! That's just awful to deal with. I'm glad you've made a formal complaint. Let us know how it goes and try and stay strong if you can. Sending love your way.

@lucymills1234 I'm also really sorry to hear you feel it hasn't worked. I'm sending you big virtual hugs. This process is so tough. Have you thought about any possible next steps? Are you in touch with a therapist or anyone who can support you a bit? I can't begin to imagine what you've been through after 8 transfers 💜

@EasterBunny7 @Raspberrydelight this is incredible news well done both of you!!! Sending positive vibes for that line to increase / remain strong!!! Keep us updated!

How is everyone doing?

I've been so up and down emotionally, I'm finding this process really tough again. My mind has been racing a lot with different thoughts, luckily yesterday was quite busy at work but in the afternoon I went for a walk and listened to a podcast and ended up bursting into tears in the middle of the park! I think my hormones are all over the place at the moment. My partner is currently away with work and he seems to be coping much better - does anyone else find that their partners are better at coping?

I woke up early this morning as I can't sleep. I am now 7dp5dt so thought I'd test - couldn't hold out longer. I think there is a very very very faint line - what do you guys think? I have never ever seen a second line before so not sure what to think! Need to just keep calm, not get my hopes up too much and keep testing. Sending love to you all xox

EasterBunny7 · 06/07/2022 09:05

@flowersinmay congratulations! There is definitely a line there. Considering photos make it that much harder to see than irl, this is a good line. Any line is a line. As I've said before, I believe we're allowed to rejoice every small win. To have got this far after everything we do/did to get here should be acknowledged in it's own right. Have a lovely day!

Hopefull1981 · 06/07/2022 14:55

Congrats @flowersinmay . Definitely a second line there. 😁
