Medicated FET what day was your transfer?

Hi everyone,

Embarking on another round of IVF and I’m having a FET next Tuesday. I went for a lining scan on CD8 and it was 6.1mm so returned yesterday CD11 and lining was above 7mm. I’m to start the dreaded progesterone pessaries on Thursday CD14 this week and my transfer is now booked for next Tuesday CD19.

Is this very late for a transfer? I’m getting myself all worried that it’s late and it’s going to impact the result of this cycle but being medicated does it not make a difference? Can anyone put my mind at ease?!

@Gracie2021 I have hypothyroidism, so TSH to see if I need to up my Levothyroxine x

That makes sense @Happycroc! Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday and not too tricky to hide the not drinking. Could always fake some food poisoning and stomach too sick for drink if things get desperate....

Wondering did anyone see stalling in your test progression around 8-10dpt? Trying and failing miserably not to overthink this!

Have you done a digital weeks one?

Think I had a moment of anxiety and panicked over nothing @Happycroc then went down the google rabbit hole seeing peoples progressing further. Ignore me 🙈🙈 not good at waiting at all. Don't have a digital but tbh I'd be terrified to do it in case it came back that I was less weeks than I am and that would get me overthinking too. Trying to stick to once daily tests til beta and not lose my mind in the meantime.

@Gracie2021 i get you. I tested again this morning again and had a bit of a moment thinking it’s too light but then reminded myself I’m only 4 weeks and 3 days post period and I used to ovulate fairly late.

I spoke with my clinic yesterday and she said there is no possibility that this has anything to do with the failed cycle and is certainly a new pregnancy.

Just between us all my DH and I had a drunken conversation last week that we might not try IVF again and just be happy as we are. I said we could just see if something (very unlikely we thought as his sperm count was only 2million last check) happened by the end of the year. I’m not sure how he’s processing the news having literally just had this conversation!

Because we’re on holiday with 14 family members I haven’t even really had much of a chance to talk it over with DH, let alone get my own head around what’s happened. Can’t shake the feeling that this isn’t going to work out.

my SIL is here and I was meant to be going to the spa with her the other day (which is what prompted me to test). I had to tell her that day as we’d both been really looking forward to the spa and she and DH are helping me cover the lack of alcohol. Luckily I consumed enough at the beginning of the week to cover myself!

sorry rambled post, at home alone with the kids because it’s just too damn hot so obviously just sitting here overthinking everything!

@Gracie2021 I used internet cheapies and I never got a dye stealer, it was always lighter than the test line. So, it doesn't have to mean anything at all. How are you doing? When's your viability scan?

Sorry I completely missed your message @Happycroc! Glad you had your SIL as backup and fun telling the odd person. Just told one of my friends today and was so so lovely. Made it seem real too. How are you and DH processing? Hope you get some time to yourselves soon.

Doing ok thanks @EasterBunny7 a long way from my scan. My first bloods aren't until Monday on 14dpt so has felt like a long wait since I tested so early (no regrets though). How are you feeling? Are you having any mad symptoms? You must be due back for your next scan soon? All quiet with the SCH I hope 🤞🤞

I did a CB digi yesterday which came back as 2-3 weeks (having had a 1-2 weeks on weds) so mildly reassured that my HCG is rising ok 🤞

Great news on the digital @Happycroc how did your bloods go?

Beta came back normal for us thankfully on Tuesday so just keeping the heads down waiting on a scan now and hoping for the best.

@Gracie2021 thats great news, been thinking of you the last few days!

my TSH had increased (which was expected) to 3.6 research shows that above 2.4 patients were more likely to miscarry. Unfortunately the GP didn’t know/ understand this so I’ve had to be a bit of a PITA and follow up to get my medication increased. Not her fault as it’s obviously a specialist area but I hate it when I’m having to explain everything!

when’s your scan? I’ve booked a private one for the week after next. I was previously under the recurrent miscarriage team who would have scanned me early but that was in the south before we relocated to the midlands so I don’t know what the procedure is here. I was going to ask the GP when she called back but she seems to only want to communicate by text now!

how are you feeling?

I have my first scan on 1st Sept. hoping it's good luck as our team after was 1st aug. Stopped testing the day after beta so just trying to eat healthy and not think too much for the next couple weeks. Feeling a bit tired and crampy but not too bad. How about you?

Tired, but I don’t know if that’s because my LO has decided 4.45am is wake up time and won’t be convinced otherwise! Really crampy, on and off, trying to not worry about everything but I’m not succeeding!

Feeling ok. Had a bit of a fright at the weekend with some bleeding which has thankfully stopped but have a scan for Wed at 6w to double check everything. Equal parts terrified and excited.

Hi everyone , hope it’s ok for me to jump on here.
I started meds for my first FET last week and I have my lining scan on Wednesday.
Does anyone know how long after that roughly my transfer will be? I’m not really sure on the timeline with it being my first one. Thanks x

Hi @Ivfjourney01. If they're happy with your lining you could start progesterone any time and then transfer is typically 6 days after starting progesterone so in theory the soonest would be a week after your lining scan. That's based on a medicated transfer.

That’s really helpful I wasn’t sure how long after it would likely be. How long after the transfer would I take a test? Is it 2 weeks like if it was ‘natural’.

I had a positive by 5 days after transfer @Ivfjourney01 but that is treating early. My clinic didn't recommend testing until 14 days after.

@Gracie2021 thats scary, I bled a lot during my last pregnancy and every time was upsetting. I hope everything goes well on weds x

@Ivfjourney01 if in doubt ask your clinic for an expected timeline, things can change of course if you need more time to build lining but then you’ll have a good idea. Your clinic will probably tell you your OTD (official test date) at your transfer, usually about 10dpt if they’re doing bloods and 12-14dpt for a hpt x

I had a horrendous week the other week with pregnancy symptoms but literally the day I turned 10 weeks pregnant everything seems to have stopped and I've had no more symptoms. Really strange but I've read that can be normal! I've got my next scan tomorrow - seems like I've waited forever! This time my partner is coming - he still can't quite believe I'm actually pregnant so hopefully the scan will convince him (if my suffering and sickness hasn't already 😆).

Morning @flowersinmay, how are you keeping?

I’m good, exhausted but o think that he’s more to do with the pre-5am wake up calls than anything else! I’m almost completely symptomless which I’m trying not to freak out about, easier said than done! Reminding myself that both previous successful pregnancies I was never sick etc so trying to remain hopeful!

I have an early scan booked next week and if everything is looking ok I may join you but I’m still feeling very unsure about everything x

9-10 weeks is usually when the placenta takes over and any strong symptoms become less so I’m sure it’s completely normal! Is your scan tomorrow private? I’m trying to do a self referral to the local midwifery service at the moment but having difficulty getting in touch with anyone!
