Hiya

Is anyone else due to start treatment July 2022 or around then?

I thought to make this thread so that we can all have a chat whilst going through treatment so that we don't feel alone.

Wishing you all the best of luck on your journey.

Bellwells

Hi, we are hoping to start IVF + ICSI treatment later in July. Keeping everything crossed but a little nervous of what’s ahead.

Hiya @JA42 what stage of treatment are you currently at?
Have you got any scans or paper work etc left to do?
Have you been given your drug regime or been told your starting dates yet?

Hi @Bellwells
we are at the very early stages, we have just had our fertility assessment and advice on treatment to have, so we are just sorting finances out 😳 before we start the process in a couple of weeks and then the drugs start around the 25th July for 2 weeks I think.
There was so much information to take in at our assessment so might of got a bit muddled about what happens when 🤦‍♀️
we have already completed some paperwork which seemed to be about 30 pages long😆
what stage are you at?

@JA42 We’re in the process of signing the final documents (we received them today)before starting treatment.
Treatment is 2 weeks of NET a bleed then approx. 2 weeks of injections.
The nurses appointment to tell us about the medication and how to do the injections is next Tuesday via video call.
what clinic are you at?

Hi everyone, thought I’d put my head in here! I’m only doing a natural modified FET this cycle, but thought I’d join anyway 👋🏻

This is our first round, we got four embryos from it and our first FET failed. I’ll be going for my first scan on July 7th.

Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping to start my first cycle later this month, around the 20th. I had a scan earlier this week and unfortunately, the doc said she may have spotted something 'suspicious' maybe a polyp so she wants to see me again on the 12th to check for sure. If it's clear, I'll start down regulation on the 20th.. if not, well I'm back to the drawing board and will have to find out what a polyp is and what to do about it 😒
Apart from the possible polyp, I'm actually really excited to get started!

If anyone can tell me how they got on with down regulation and if it was pill or injection based I would appreciate it🙂

I’m about to get going again with a back-to-back cycle, following one last month where the numbers were great throughout but all the embryos then turned out to be aneuploid. We’re sticking to exactly the same protocol. Hence I’m currently having a lot of deja vu ‘for goodness sake, didn’t we just do this?!’ thoughts. I’ll start downregging with nasal spray this time next week.

@Piapea I was quite dreading down reg the first time but it was honestly fine and I had no side effects at all. Nor from stims either. I’d cleared my calendar thinking I might not be up to doing much but that wasn’t the case at all and I’ll be carrying on as normal this time. Fingers crossed you’ll be able to start as planned and it will be the same for you. It’s nice to hear from someone who is genuinely excited as I must confess that my enthusiasm has worn off a bit.

Hi all I hope you are all well!

Just a bit of an update from me, my cycle started just before midnight so today is officially day 1!! Honestly I never expected to be so happy to have a period. 😂

I start Provera tablets (down reg) cycle day 14 - I emailed the nurses this morning asking them to confirm the dates but as for now I just have to be patient and wait for day 14 to arrive as well as my meds.

Hello, can I join you please? @Bellwells we are same cycle day I think as I'm day 2 today, and after my scan earlier am officially now starting an FET cycle. Embryo will be from my ICSI cycle in 2020 which resulted in DD so this is our try for baby 2. I thought I'd be calmer this time but already shitting it, found my thread buddies so helpful last time so came looking to see if there was a current thread!
Next scan is Tuesday 11th which seems far away abd also really soon. Ivf does strange things to time I swear.
Hope you're all doing ok and having a nice evening!

@Bellwells glad AF arrived on time!

@Eggling welcome! Are you doing medicated or natural/modified FET?

I'm going for my first scan on Thursday, this is for my second FET. I was worried I had covid from being exposed last week but it's nearly a week ago and I'm testing negative so probably just a cold.

Thank you! @thislittlebird there are a few things going round at the moment I think, hopefully it's just a cold. It's medicated FET so I'm starting on the oestrogen today.
@Bellwells it's weird, I kind of can't believe we're here doing this again! Last time was in lockdown and super stressful obviously, plus it was a full cycle and got complicated as I developed OHSS so DD was actually FET too. I've been really focussed on getting to this point and now it's here I'm remembering how hard it all is!

@thislittlebird oh no try and get as much rest as possible and lemon and honey

@Eggling I’m doing my first ever full cycle is there anything You could have done to avoid getting OHSS - have you got any tips?

thislittlebird · 04/07/2022 20:55

@Bellwells i took today off work and can’t decide if I feel better, I think I do tonight. I’m hoping from tomorrow I can consider myself safe from covid but who knows.

Fo ohss avoidance I ate lots of protein, which I as doing anyway for egg quality, and I drank electrolytes. My choice was coconut water and pineapple juice (usually mixed because I don’t love coconut water on its own that much).

@Eggling must be weird to be back again! I’ve never done medicated, is it about two weeks until transfer from starting?

I’ll be honest and say my hopes of FET 2 working are through the floor. After the first failed it doesn’t feel like there’s much hope so I’m going to try to keep my expectations low. It’s so hard though, without fail my mind drifts to baby names and stuff I can’t normally let myself think about 😕

Report
Eggling · 04/07/2022 21:13

@Bellwells I think for me OHSS was inevitable as I have PCOS and had loads and loads of follicles so it was just how my body reacted to the meds. Electrolytes is a goo suggestion as if I remember right it's important to keep hydrated but not too hydrated! How are you feeling about getting started? First cycle is really a journey into the unknown!

@thislittlebird I think it'll be a little over two weeks as it's a day5 embryo, we're going to see how my lining looks next week and decide on timings then I think. It's so hard to stay positive, I know. It really can work though, and I'll keep everything crossed for you. When will your transfer be?

Report
thislittlebird · 05/07/2022 18:47

@Eggling any idea what day you're in? Not sure on transfer, I'm doing natural so going for a scan Thursday to see how things are going.

Hello Everyone, hope you don't mind me jumping on board. Need a bit of support. A bit about me..

This is my 2nd Ivf cycle
Long Protocol
Start Buserilin shots on 12th July
Amh 5.6
I have Endometriosis
This time I will be using progesterone shots instead of pessaries after ET, as it was a mess and don't think it absorbed. Is anyone doing the shots, Is it painful?

Good luck 💛

Hey all also jumping on bandwagon.. I’m day 5 medicated cycle. V nervous! And I forgot to take my prognova this morning and had to take it when I got home. I’m meant to be taking it 2x a day. It’s making my skin break out like a teenage boy.

I find this all v stressful!

Hi everyone! So glad I’ve found a thread of others in the IVF game right now!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

im 42, no previous ins children, TTC 3 years, 1 MMC sept 21 at 8.5 weeks, first IVF attempt

I’m with IVF Spain in Alicante - all happened super fast! Consultation 24th May, started primer meds that night, month of supplements (was already taking CoQ10, selenium etc added DHEA), started stims (225 Pergoveris) on the 3rd. Today is day 4 of stims.

I’ve got a low AMH of 0.5 (dropped drastically in last year!!) and AFC of 7 in May.
had a scan today and only had 4 follicles 😳😳 I’m freaking out!! Is that bad?! Will it change? Apparently they’re responding well but I had hoped for more 😵‍💫😵‍💫
trying to stay positive but it’s sooo hard!!
fly to Spain on Sunday for retrieval sometime next week 🫣🫣🫣🫣

@thislittlebird I've just been looking back at my iPhone calendar from my September 2020 transfer and tried to work it out but I don't think i recorded all the scans there, I'm guessing transfer will be somewhere between 18 and 22 July if we get the go ahead. I'm a planner by nature so having to be so flexible really doesn't suit me but that's the nature of the beast! Frustrating though isn't it.

Hi @Kelb79 @mooneagle and @NaomiNatNat!

@NaomiNatNat I didn't do the shots but know someone who did who said it was fine, I guess after egg collection you're a pro at needles anyway?

@mooneagle it's super stressful. I don't think anyone that has conceived without treatment has the slightest idea how difficult ivf is. For me it's the mental side that is harder than the physical side, for sure.

@Kelb79 from what I remember my follicles kept increasing so there's still plenty of time for more! It's one of those where you just need to trust the medical team if they say it's going well, it's so hard though.

Hope everyone is doing ok ❤️

@Kelb79 they say it only takes one good egg! 4 days stims and 4 follicles is ok I reckon. You want them to develop at steady rate. Mine all went guns blazing and ended up with Ovarian hyper stimulation which was nightmare - loads of follicles and eggs but most of them were unviable as they ended up having to collect my eggs early.

Slow and steady is good.

are you doing FET?

So I got the actual measurements through….

left: 15, 13, 11 and a sneaky little one at 8
right: 12 and a sneaker at 3

so I guess that counts as 6 maybe?
really odd as my AFC in May showed 6 on right and 1 on left - they’ve swapped completely!! 🤷🏼‍♀️

we’re doing PGT-A testing so we’ll be freezing 👌🏼 Just praying there’s a few to test 🙏🏼🙏🏼
eurgh this journey is tough! Physically I’m doing great but the ups and downs are killer! I’ve found a great app called mindful IVF that has a pile of meditations to keep you sane, it’s my saviour right now! 🙈
