Hiya

Is anyone else due to start treatment July 2022 or around then?

I thought to make this thread so that we can all have a chat whilst going through treatment so that we don't feel alone.

Wishing you all the best of luck on your journey.

@Tonim86 try coconut water ( I hate coconut) but it helped me after EC I was measuring my stomach as it was getting worse at night and it was going up! After introducing coconut water it started decreasing. X

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 09:11

@mooneagle welcome to the 2ww what's your OTD? How you feeling x

mooneagle · 19/07/2022 10:56

@PMAmostofthetime i keep worrying that it’s fallen out! Fingers crossed! I’m also waiting for a call from the doctor as to whether or not I need to start the injections.

NaomiNatNat · 19/07/2022 11:42

@John100 That's amazing congratulations!! 🎊

Update from me, On day 8 of Buserilin and AF is 1 day late. Not great as I'm craving sugar and junk food 😳🍩🍭 and headaches! thought Buserilin was meant to help shed your lining not keep it there

Good luck ladies and gents on here, those pupo, EC, ET and starting! 💜💙

Kelb79 · 19/07/2022 12:14

Congrats to all the PUPOs and BFP!! Epic news!!! And definitely gives me hope 🙏🏼

I’ve just finished progesterone pessaries to end the cycle so now just waiting on AF to start stims again.
Annoyingly I can’t plan anything (flights etc) until I know my day 1. Clinic has predicted Friday/Saturday time so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

still nursing my wounds a bit but coming to terms with having to do it all again 😵‍💫😵‍💫

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 12:54

@mooneagle I've been reassured by my clinic that it can't fall out- if it doesn't implant its re- absorbed into the body.

I freaked out this morning as TMI but I wiped and had brown discharge- I thought it was the embryo coming out so called the clinic in a panic to be told any. Town discharge is completely normal for the next 2 weeks.

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 12:56

@NaomiNatNat mine was 3 days late on Burserelin So hang on in there. I was frustrated too.

@Kelb79 the wait is always the worst- hope AF shows soon- only time we ever want one isn't it. Where are you having treatment if you don't mind me asking? X

NaomiNatNat · 19/07/2022 15:15

@mooneagle Read somewhere that the cervix closes shut some time after ovulation. Apparently the pressure is stronger than gravity, not sure how it works but hope this helps

Rosemary121 · 19/07/2022 16:59

@Eggling Well I was planning on waiting it out the full 2 weeks but I’ve been doing some reading on Dr Google and although many advise against it, positive results can be detected from day 6/7. I know there is obviously a risk of it being a false positive or chemical but because I’m prepared for that I might test early anyway… we’ll see and wait for the transfer first I guess! My testing day is the day after my birthday too so think I’d rather have an idea of whether it’s worked rather than it hanging over my head!

@Kelb79 Fingers crossed AF comes quickly for you so you can start making a proper plan! Where is it that you’re having treatment? Somewhere nice and sunny I hope!

@PMAmostofthetime I’m pretty sure my OTD will be the 4th of Aug but the transfer is not till Thursday so I’ll wait and see what they tell me!

@Tonim86 Thank you! I’m really sorry to hear you’re still suffering with OHSS, but at least you can let your body rest for a few months before your FET, that’s what I did and things seemed to have calmed down when I had my scan a few months later.

@mooneagle oon Congrats on being PUPO! Fingers crossed the time goes quickly for you. I think the heat is due to ease a bit over the next few days hopefully! That fear is always something I have in the back of my mind, although I know it isn’t something that they say can happen!

@NaomiNatNat I think IVF combined with the heat can do strange things to you! Hope AF comes soon for you so you can get started with things

Bookbug92 · 19/07/2022 18:34

Hi everyone, I wondered if I could join? I'm 29 and I've been TTC for over 2 years. I'm on day 7 of my first IVF cycle, and have my first scan tomorrow to see how my follicles are coming along. Not sure what to expect!

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 19:15

So all of my literature off the clinic says no hot tubs no hot baths- embroyo's do not like heat!
How are we supposed to keep cool in this weather suggestions please.
Hope this doesn't affect my chances x

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 19:15

@Bookbug92 Welcome are you on long protocol or short Protocol? X

Bookbug92 · 19/07/2022 20:26

Hi @PMAmostofthetime I think I'm on short protocol (I started ovaleap on day 2 of my cycle). I thought I was up on all the TTC terminology and now I'm finally starting a cycle I feel clueless! 😅

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 21:51

@Bookbug92 I was the same this is my second cycle first was short so tablets to stop then start AF then injections to stimulate ovaries. This time long. Injections to put me in a temporary menopausal state three injections to stimulate ovaries. Honestly anything you don't understand just ask. Everyone is helpful.

First internal scan they will check your womb lining- count your follicles on each ovary and measure them and check for any fluid around them up your water intake and protein to prevent OHSS as this is what they are concerned about. I also drank lucozade sport for the electrolytes and some people drink coconut water.

Then they'll decide if your ready for trigger it you need another scan on both short and long I've had 2 scans then been ready x

John100 · 20/07/2022 08:31

Thank you everyone, also good luck to everybody over the next few weeks, fingers crossed.

it’s our official test date today and we’ve just got another positive test result so that’s 3 days running. Waiting for a phone call off the Hewitt today so they can book our scan in a few weeks.
Not sure why they don’t offer blood tests to confirm it though?

PMAmostofthetime · 20/07/2022 08:45

@John100 official Congratulations

HPT are so reliable now- bloods are not needed.

John100 · 20/07/2022 08:52

Thanks @PMAmostofthetime
Feel slightly more relieved now, although not out the woods yet!
Really didn’t expect this off our first fresh transfer

PMAmostofthetime · 20/07/2022 10:09

It's amazing/ it doesn't happen very often so your very lucky. Do you have any frozen? For the future?

John100 · 20/07/2022 10:33

@PMAmostofthetime Yes we managed to
freeze 6 and they were all graded between AA & AB

Bookbug92 · 20/07/2022 12:09

Congratulations @John100! Sounds amazing with a BFP and frosties in the freezer!

Thanks so much @PMAmostofthetime, it was exactly as you described. The sonographer was very happy with my follicles, I have 15 on the right side and 13 on the left! She was very nice, she even let me take a pic of the graph. Just need to keep up with the water and protein as I'm terrified I'm going to get OHSS!

PMAmostofthetime · 20/07/2022 12:28

@Bookbug92
28 follicles that's amazing- I had 20 eggs retrieved and was very sore but the water, lucozade sport and protein kept OHSS at bay.

I'm still doing it- it is exhausting as you need to get up to wee a lot during the night and when I get up I'd drink more. Don't drink lucozade sport through the night though kept me awake all night the night before transfer 🙈.

thislittlebird · 20/07/2022 12:56

I skipped the Lucozade Sport but did drink coconut water (mixed with pineapple) because that’s full of electrolytes in the hope of avoiding ohss.

mooneagle · 20/07/2022 16:09

I had a bloods test and the results were very low it’s like my body isn’t absorbing the lutigest hormone. Now I’ve to start on the Lubion injections. My level was only 13.4 vs required 30. :(

thislittlebird · 20/07/2022 16:18

@mooneagle what form is lutigest, is it like cyclogest?

My clinic are being really annoying and saying progesterone bloods aren’t routine, what you’re experiencing is exactly why I’m asking for them, and agreed I could have them with the consultant. I don’t think it’s a lot to ask for bloods to be done, I’m annoyed they’re saying it’s not standard.

mooneagle · 20/07/2022 16:22

@thislittlebird not sure on this. I just know it’s the pessaries which contain progesterone. I had a blood test day of my transfer and it’s come back saying I’ve very low levels so they are asking me to top up. However last time I had really good levels and I’m not doing much different so I’ve n confused!

several studies to say progesterone helps implantation.
