Hi everyone,

Mind if I join this thread? Due to start 1st ivf treatment at the beginning of Feb so would be great to speak to some others going through a similar journey at around the same time! Been TTC for 4 and a half years, taken this long for us to get where we are with tests etc and covid waiting lists so feels a little surreal that we've finally got to this point.

Room for another late joiner? had 1st ever EC on Thu. near miss of starting ivf 5 years ago after 2y ttc - went through all testing - then got very very lucky and have 4.25yo DC. No success TTC #2 ever since other than 1 MC during lockdown, so this is a last roll of the dice as age not in our favour. Interested in others experiences of the evil cyclogest - I’m on 2x2x400 mg per day which seems to be double often recommended dose

Are you taking 4x400mg per day? Did they tell you why do you need to take so much? I will take 1x400mg + Prolutex injection per day. The clinic never checked my progesterone levels on the day of the ET 🤔 I always wondered if my dosage is enough...

@Cayandsimit that’s right - 2 x 400mg every morning and evening. Patient leaflet in the box suggests normal dose is one or two per day. They didn’t check my level either. I’m guessing it’s coz I had buserelin/suprecur trigger - lots of medical paper refs on internet to this causing LPD doesn’t make me optimistic. I will ask when I go back if we make it to d5. Prolutex should do the same job

Hi all, thanks for setting up the new thread @Dobcaty .

I had a scan on Fri and dr was pleased at follicle growth from 2 days before. I have a scan tomorrow morning then I expect trigger tomorrow night for EC on Wed for freeze all and PGS testing. Really hoping to get something to test!

Good luck everyone about to undergo EC. I was in a deep sleep 40 mins. Sore a couple of days after. Far fewer eggs (6) than follicles (around 15) unfortunately. Four fertilised, being left undisturbed until d5 when ET is planned.

I just had a negative frer today at 8dpt5dt so figure this first fresh cycle was a fail. Just wondered what was peoples experience with FET after fresh? Do clinics tend to let you move onto it straight away or do you have to wait a month or so. Only thing keeping me positive. Have one frozen waiting and then will be back to stims 😭

I also had every preg symptom under the sun...guessing that the meds to support luteal phase?!?

Hi everyone, another late joiner here if that’s ok.

I’m about to start stims tomorrow for my 1st IVF cycle. Is anyone at a similar stage?
I’m on 225 meriofert, I don’t see many people prescribed this on the threads so haven’t found out much about it but hoping the side effects are minimal.
I’m doing a freeze all cycle, and on my plan it says to start the progesterone pessaries for 5 days after EC. I’ll ask the nurse tomorrow but anyone got any ideas if that’s right?

I believe they like you to have a bleed following the cycle and then another natural bleed before starting again but it’s worth checking with your clinic.

Hi @Yognog1 I did 4d 150 benfolin then 6d 150 meriofert and cetrotide. Just bloating, but I’m guessing that’s universal. Fingers crossed for you. actually I had a tremendous scare - I was really ill 3 days in but that turned out to be food poisoning… avoid out of date yoghurt all!

Anyone got any experience of covid impacting treatment?

Feeling so sad and frustrated today as my husband and son have tested positive on LFT this morning. I have been having aches and sore throat this week and also been testing…. So far I’m negative but looks like that may change quite shortly! Am so so gutted.

Does anyone know what happens If he is positive but I manage to stay negative? I was due my final scan before trigger tomorrow but now obviously that may well be screwed.

All the options are flying round my head but I have no idea if they are actually options??

• could I take a sample in for him to use?
• would they even let me progress knowing someone in the household has it
• would they collect and freeze the eggs only? If so can they defrost to fertilise and then refreeze or does that mess things up??
• how long have people had to wait before trying again?

Can’t believe we got this far along the process after so long long of trying to not even then have a chance of an actual pregnancy sad

Hi @Hopeful199 I don't have any direct experience of this but my clinic ask the following questions every time I go in: a. Do you have a high temperature?
b. Do you have a new continuous cough?
c. Do you have a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste?
d. Have you been told to isolate or are you waiting for the results of a Covid test?
e. Have you been fully vaccinate against Covid-19
So based on these would still be allowed in if cases in the house. But I imagine your husband would not be allowed. I guess they could freeze the eggs but I know they prefer to freeze embryos. It might be worth asking if you can bring the sample in with you when you arrive for your collection. My understanding when I had my egg collection was that my partner did the sample at the clinic in the morning but it wasn't used until the afternoon. I hope they can make this cycle work for you x

I’m even more worried about the fact that I see lots of people saying you have to wait 90 days before a new round after a positive test. I REALLY REALLY hope that is not the case! Just feel so gutted to get this far and not even have a chance to make it work Feels like such an unfair policy

Guess I’ll have to wait and see what they say tomorrow

So sorry to hear peoples bad news, COVID nightmares and fingers crossed for everyone still in the process.

Just waiting to test - keep symptom spotting - think drugs are just making me feel rather sick all the time. Does anyone know whether I can use an FRER test - I was having just the transfer and no egg collection this cycle (am just on oestrogen tablets and progesterone pessaries so no trigger shots)...

@Hopeful199 really hope you can take in a sample like the others have suggested and still go ahead with your cycle.

@Vslightlystressy if there is no trigger than you should be fine as there would be no hcg other than pregnancy I think. How many days post transfer are you and was it a 5 day transfer?

@mochii it was a five day transfer last Tuesday (so in effect eleven days…). I am trying to talk myself out of testing
