@Vslightlystressy well done for holding out this long! I tested every day on my fresh transfer 😂

Janefx40 · 30/01/2022 22:38

Hello ladies. I was wondering why the thread had gone quiet - realise you are all on here now!

@dragonleo I'm so sorry. I've always had to wait a cycle after the withdrawal bleed so just a month.

@Hopeful199 I think at our clinic it just has to have been 28 days between a positive test and your egg collection or transfer date. So it may not be as bad as you think. Hope your DH is feeling ok

Xxx

Mochii · 30/01/2022 23:05

Does anyone know why clinics have such a long wait between positive covid test and transfer? Is it because they think covid could impact implantation or to prevent the spread of covid?

GodspeedJune · 30/01/2022 23:57

Mochii My clinic say they won’t restart treatment until 7 weeks after recovery from covid so I’m guessing they do think it affects success rates somehow?

I don’t know how people who can’t work from home manage it. If my egg collection goes to plan it’ll be two weeks from the covid test until embryo transfer so easily half of annual leave used up in one cycle.

Cayandsimit · 31/01/2022 10:05

Hi,
I started another thread about this but also wanted to ask here if anyone has experience with Brevactid 1500 for the embryo transfer? It suppose to signal body about pregnancy and help with the implantation.
I will try this in this ET. However, there is shortage in Germany and pharmacies cannot order it. I am thinking about maybe driving up to Netherlands to get it. It is not a must but just an add-on. I am quite stressed about it right now. Would like to hear your opinions before driving up to another country to get it 😕

Dobcaty · 31/01/2022 10:24

Welcome everyone on board, please don’t be afraid to ask, share any news with us, we are in here to and for support. ❤️

@hopeful199 our clinic didn’t do covid test to DH and he didn’t need to isolate between test and EC. Our nurse said the reason for that bc he was not in direct contact, left alone in the quiet room while I shared the room with another 8-12 ppl (nurses, embryologist, drs) and I was in bigger risk to spread it.

@Vslightlystressy well done to holding this long. Let us know when you POAS

@jennie154 @pcossos thinking of both of you today with your blood test 🤞🤞

@sydney1986x hope you had a good sleep during EC, let us know how many of been collected and how’re you feeling

I've given my blood this morning (to the vampire 😂) however I know it's going to be 0 HCG, I had heavy bleeding during the weekend - passing big tissues (sorry TMI), I can't wait to stop the progesterone as its makes me moody

@Hopeful199 there have been studies that have shown decreased sperm quality for a month or so after having covid. Not sure if this is why clinics wait a while.

Janefx40 · 31/01/2022 10:32

@Dobcaty good luck for your results. However much we know it's over we always hope for a miracle. I hope you're ok and can cope with the news whatever it is.

@Jennie154 and @PcosSOS good luck to you too.

@Hopeful199 my DP didn't have to do any Covid tests either. So fingers crossed.

@Cayandsimit sorry I've never heard of it!

I'm just back from blood test too. Need to check Hcg is going down and that I'm not having an ectopic. Another great day in IVF land!

crazycatlady1981 · 31/01/2022 11:59

@Dobcaty thanks for the new thread!

@Hopeful199 I’m so sorry to hear your news!! 😭 That’s awful when you are so far along! I think all clinics have different rules, so hopefully if you stay negative, yours will still let you go ahead with EC and then freeze the eggs and fertilise at a later date. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I just had to sign a form about this with my clinic and I think if either one of us gets covid, they cancel treatment so we’d have to go through it all again and pay for the drugs again too. If we got covid after EC, they freeze embryos and have to do a frozen transfer instead.

I’m trying to stay away from people as much as possible to stay safe, but my DH’s new work have planned a meal out tomorrow night and we’re both invited! I don’t want to go but DH feels that he has to!!

Covid has definitely made IVF a million times more stressful than it already is!!

womaninkent · 31/01/2022 14:34

Thanks @Dobcaty I was wondering why everyone had suddenly stopped posting.
@Hopeful199 have you spoken to the clinic? I've heard about lots of people who lived with someone Covid positive and didn't get it. Got my fingers crossed for you.
Good luck for everyone with tests today.
@Vslightlystressy I'm team wait till OTD, if you want some encouragement in the other direction!!

PcosSOS · 31/01/2022 16:12

Thanks @Janefx40 and @Dobcaty

I didn’t have to have a blood test in the end as I’ve had a negative test and heavy flow today so they just trust that. I’m quite relieved to be honest.

Jennie154 · 31/01/2022 16:48

I had my blood test, negative as expected. I have now contacted another clinic about another round. Hoping they allow me to try again before suggesting donor eggs.

Dobcaty · 31/01/2022 16:50

My blood test was negative as I expected. I will have a phone call in the next couple of weeks with the doctor to give some insight for this failed cycle, but we good to go in a month time if we want. Age is not on my favour, I know 36 is still young, but if I think back we are already in a year of treatments and I just want to roll that dice as soon as we can.

Oh @Jennie154 I'm so sorry. I hoped you get better result than me.
Do you have a copy of your treatment/test result file? It might be a help for the new clinic. Which clinic are you changing to?

Janefx40 · 31/01/2022 16:54

I'm so sorry @Jennie154 . It's not a nice moment even if expected 😢. Where are you thinking of moving to?

Bec18x · 31/01/2022 17:00

@Hopeful199 I had covid just before Christmas and I started stims a few weeks later I never had a PCR test with my clinic because I had covid within 90 days but because it was just 28days between covid and egg collection I was ok. My husband then had covid at new year and we had our egg collection 2 weeks after. The clinic didn't ask about him at all and he literally provided a sample and left. Personally after paying so much money for medication I would still go ahead. As long as he wears a mask 🤷🏼‍♀️

womaninkent · 31/01/2022 17:05

So sorry @Dobcaty @Jennie154 and @PcosSOS. It's so tough. Take care of yourselves.

Sydney1986x · 31/01/2022 17:20

I’m so sorry @Dobcaty @Jennie154 and @Janefx40 it’s such a hard shitty journey. I’m thinking of you all Flowers

EC went better than I expected, I didn’t feel nervous at all. Staff were very kind and attentive. The GA was a dream and I was out for the count. Had some bleeding apparently that’s normal? 7 eggs were collected from 14 follicles. Was a little disappointed in that number but keeping positive as ‘it only takes one’. I’ve slept most
Of this afternoon and enjoying my husband running around after me Wink x

Janefx40 · 31/01/2022 17:20

So many of us have had bad news today!! I'm calling it miserable Monday!

@PcosSOS I'm sorry your negative is confirmed.

@Dobcaty sorry. It's horrible taking that call. Terrifying how the time flies. I can't believe it's 18 months since we returned to IVF.

Let's hope we all have better days tomorrow. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow afternoon. I was pleased not to wait but also maybe a bit soon as my head isn't very clear!

thislittlebird · 31/01/2022 18:14

I'm late for this, thanks for the tag @Dobcaty, only just seen it.

thislittlebird · 31/01/2022 18:16

@Yognog1 I started stims on Saturday so I'm at a similar stage!

thislittlebird · 31/01/2022 18:34

Sorry to read all the negatives on here, it really is a shit process we have to go through.

Jennie154 · 31/01/2022 18:42

@Dobcaty@Janefx40 We are moving to Care fertility. We could have got another ivf round as we have just moved house but I was already on the max stims they do and they were wanting to push me down the donor egg route. Luckily my parents are in a position to help us out financially.

Justawannabemam · 31/01/2022 18:51

Thanks for doing a new thread I went to post and it was closed. Haha

So update for us today

I've been for a scan today and so far I have 7 foliciles 1 x 13mm 4 x 9 1 x 7 and 1 messuring 6 mm

I've got another 4 doses of overleap before being scanned again on Friday I could really do with knowing if collection is going to be Monday my partner has to book time off work we have to book to stay over .

I'm guessing these ones will continue and any new have a few days plus a trigger. I'm hoping it is Monday I've booked all my time off work too.

Sorry to those who have had not so good news today. Its a difficult journey . When I was in the reception the receptionist was on the phone and quoted someone 6 months waiting list. I hope I do not have to join that list x

Bluebonnet3 · 31/01/2022 19:22

I have my trigger tonight (triple gonasi) after midnight for EC midday on Wed. When i went in for a scan earlier they weren't sure if it would happen Wed or Thurs (which of course put DH in a state as he's been trying to arrange stuff for work). I had already told my work that i was fairly sure I'd be off Wed-Thu this week, and I was having trouble getting any motivation today to do any work (from home.)

The handful of follicles that were measured at the scan were mainly mid-teens in size or squashed-appearing ones that were 20mm in one direction and shorter in the other (maybe situated behind each other?) I guess time will tell.
