@thislittlebird oh no, how annoying! Hope it clears up soon for you. I’ve had a headache for 2 days but not sure if it’s just the stress of getting started or the meds.

How did your blood test go?
I’ve got a blood test and scan on Monday, not sure why I’ve got the scan as well though.

Vslightlystressy · 02/02/2022 11:00

Five day transfer last Tuesday- scheduled to test on Saturday- got so close to caving and testing (even bought a six day early clear blue test) but trying to resist! May test Friday... really want to know but in a way don’t if it is bad news as would be happier not knowing it hasn’t worked...

thislittlebird · 02/02/2022 11:15

@yognog1 it could be the stress but I know some people get headaches on the stims. I haven’t had any yet which is great because I do suffer from hormonal migraines.

I messaged the clinic to check it was ok to use the regular Canesten etc products and they said that’s fine, so I’m treating the thrush already. It’s a pain because I know hormones cause it for me so it might be a long battle with it rather than a one off during this process.

Blood test was fine but I have to go back again lmao. They took the wrong bloods and called me when I emailed about the scan to say come back so I’m on the train again! 15,000 steps and 4 trains later...🙃

Will that be your second scan of the process? I’m waiting to hear when mine will be based on these blood tests which will now be delayed 🙄

@Gracie2021 yesterday was the first day I felt properly hungry. Will see what today brings 🤨. I’m sure I’ll be hungry by the time I get back home again.

Cayandsimit · 02/02/2022 12:04

@womaninkent depends on the blood results. I think approx. 5 days from today. The clinic will call me in a couple of hours to let me know.
I also asked for a progesterone test 2 days before the FET. I always suspected that my lutheal phase is not so strong. Maybe they will up my progesterone dosage. Let's see.

Is your transfer already done? Good luck 🍀🙏

NaomiNatNat · 02/02/2022 12:44

@Jennie154 speaking of low amh, my consultant said she expects only 3 or 4 eggs from me but then that was last year so lord knows! Got my follicle scan on Friday 🤞

Justawannabemam · 02/02/2022 12:51

@NaomiNatNat I have my 2nd scan on Friday so I'm a few days ahead of you .

Fingers crossed to us and anyone else collecting soon.

Who are we collections buddies with? .

crazycatlady1981 · 02/02/2022 12:52

@womaninkent good luck with your transfer today! 🤞🏻

Just had my baseline scan, with a trainee nurse and another nurse who both couldn’t find my womb or ovaries for ages and omg it was painful! They kept beating up my cervix with the wand!! 😣 Didn’t really say anything useful other than when she eventually found my womb, that my lining was nice and thin, so I’m good to start ovaleap today!

Does anyone know if we’ve got to take stims at same time each day? Nurse said to start this afternoon but then to take it in the morning with buserelin! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’d prefer to do late afternoon stims, what time’s everyone else been told to do theirs?

Justawannabemam · 02/02/2022 12:56

@crazycatlady1981 ouch that sounds painful.

I'm all for people training if there is some else there who knows what they are doing.

I was told with overleap to take in the evenings and I do my bursellin in the mornings. I was also told to try and take is around the same time or within 30 minutes.

The reason for doing evening stims is that I would have an afternoon appointment so if they need to adjust it for that night they could. Hope that helps.

thislittlebird · 02/02/2022 13:04

@crazycatlady1981 that sounds annoying, I’ve always been impressed with how pain free the scans are, what a nightmare.

I was told to donmy stims PM, so we do them in evening when DH is home but I don’t have buserelin. When I start fyremadel I have to do it AM.

NaomiNatNat · 02/02/2022 13:10

@Justawannabemam Good luck for Friday 🤞❤

@crazycatlady1981 I was told to take buserilin anytime daily and ovaleap before 11am. So odd how the clinics differ

crazycatlady1981 · 02/02/2022 13:21

@Justawannabemam @NaomiNatNat thanks! It sounds like it varies with each clinic! My next scan is at 2.45pm and I’m not supposed to do stims before that so I’ve either got to do them at vastly different times of day or could just do them all in the afternoon! 🤔 My scans were at 8am on my previous round so it was easy to do everything after the scan at same time each morning!

@thislittlebird yeah I’ve never had any issues with scans before but I’ve usually had them with a sonographer or consultant! Hopefully the next one won’t be so bad! 🤞🏻

NaomiNatNat · 02/02/2022 13:24

@crazycatlady1981 sorry about your experience, how uncomfortable 😭 bless you! Something slightly different, on my 1st ever consultation scan the trainee nurse turned round to me and said: "Sorry there is absolutely nothing we can do to help you" 💔 I hadn't even had tests done nor seen a consultant/Doctor yet! I changed clinic the same day 😪

thislittlebird · 02/02/2022 13:24

@crazycatlady1981 most have mine have been with nurses (only one with a doctor, I think) and they’re usually very good, sorry you got a duffer 😔

Cayandsimit · 02/02/2022 13:28

My clinic just called. They told me to inject the Ovitrelle now and start with Prolutex + Cyclogest on Friday and with Clexane on Saturday. The ET will be on Wednesday at 11am 😲 So five days before the next cycle. I guess it should be fine, right? 🤔

@Vslightlystressy I hope you can resist the temptation and do not test too soon. When is your blood test appointment?

@crazycatlady1981 that is really annoying 🙄 how come they cannot see the uterus?! I never understand why nurses are the ones who does the scans (even embryo transfers) in the UK... Don't get me wrong, I am sure fertility nurses are getting a special training for that but just some many different people are involved in the process, it just make everything more complicated...

Mountaingoat31 · 02/02/2022 13:30

@crazycatlady1981 my clinic told me the one that inhibits ovulation has to be done in the morning because that’s when your body produces the hormone you’re trying to stop. Don’t know if there’s a reason for the timing of the other stimulating one -mine was 10pm but as others have said best to ask your clinic

Justawannabemam · 02/02/2022 13:38

I must admit my clinic hav been great . Its alway been a consultant. There was a fertility nurse who done my scan on Monday, but the consultant was there keeping her right and she asked my permission before hand .

Crickey I'm eating for England. I've just weighed my self and I've put 4lb on 🙈

crazycatlady1981 · 02/02/2022 13:40

@Cayandsimit that sounds about right, my FET was about 7 days after my LH surge so I guess the ovitrelle gives you the surge and then you have your transfer next Wednesday!
They saw my uterus eventually, after lots of initial darkness on the screen!! Just hope it’s a different nurse doing my next follicle scan! My cervix might have risen a bit by then and be less in the way so it doesn’t get battered again!!

@NaomiNatNat oh my! That’s not what you want hear! No wonder you changed clinics!! I really wish we had changed this time round, but it’s so nearby and convenient we just went with the same one again!

crazycatlady1981 · 02/02/2022 13:46

@Mountaingoat31 I guess that would be the buserelin that inhibits ovulation!

I’ve reread through my info and it says to do stims at roughly the same time in the morning! Obviously except today and my next scan day!

crazycatlady1981 · 02/02/2022 13:47

@Justawannabemam I put on a few pounds last time as I was eating all the protein I could manage to get those follicle growing!!

Gracie2021 · 02/02/2022 14:19

@crazycatlady1981 trying to do the same here. Just guzzled an entire pack of turkey rashers alongside my lunch. Just wondering anyone here track their protein and what kind of grams are you aiming for a day? Find it so hard to get any big amount of protein in. Like 50g would be doing amazing for me.....

@NaomiNatNat can't believe you had to hear that from a clinic and a trainer at that. So wrong!

@Justawannabemam I weighed myself on CD1 and decided no more til after it's all over. I put up 5-6lb easy on progesterone anyway so figure I don't even want to know what's happening on stims. Amazing the different the hormones make!

@Mountaingoat31 I was told the same about my cetrotide which is my delay ovulation one. But from chatting with diff people so many diff processes in each clinic...

@Cayandsimit so exciting. Will have all the fingers crossed for you. What will be your test date then? Hope you have distractions planned.

@Vslightlystressy fingers crossed for you for Saturday and hope you have a couple treats planned to get you there.

@Bluehawaii29 great news. All systems go!

@Yognog1 my clinic do a scan with every blood test. Presume it's to keep an eye on the follicles and measurements. But we also start later than some in terms of the monitoring. Like thislittlebird had blood tests today but I don't have anything til Friday and we're same day in. So just tons of diff approaches it seems.

Gracie2021 · 02/02/2022 14:21

Actually just dr googled about the protein

Research shows that increasing your protein intake to 60g/day improves results during IVF stimulus. 60g of protein equates to around two chicken breasts.

I'll have to work on that so!!

thislittlebird · 02/02/2022 14:27

@Gracie2021 I track with myfitnesspal and I’ve been managing about 60g per day by making sure there’s some in each meal, some days I’ve had more than 60 but it’s nice to know there’s research.

It’s hard though. I don’t usually eat much meat and fish but it is what it is. I quite enjoy my home made shake with peanut butter, whey protein, oats, flax with either fruit or cacao. Haven’t done that today because I was running around London.

Justawannabemam · 02/02/2022 14:38

Aldi do a lovely protein yoghurt. Its a brooklea. Around 20g in each x

crazycatlady1981 · 02/02/2022 14:50

@Gracie2021 I think I managed around 70g a day last time. I have whey protein on porridge with seeds and nuts and whole milk at breakfast which is around 30g I think and then add in a boiled egg or two as snack each day, lots of quorn, cheese, houmous and then Skyr is really high protein and I think it tastes nicer than yogurt! Need to go and do a food shop!! 😋

Gracie2021 · 02/02/2022 15:08

Thanks for the tips all. Just scheduled a shop with a ton of chicken, turkey rashers eggs, prawns etc. I hate protein powder and am trying to keep my dairy very low as I have immune responses and supposedly dairy can cause inflammation so no fage which I'd usually use to bulk up protein 🙈 so hard to know what to do 😂🙈🙈 no one in my clinic mentioned anything about this at all. Thank god for you guys!
