IVF/FET October/November 21

I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

I’m waiting to find out how the thaw has gone for my FET at 2. Hoping so much that this little one sticks this time. The friend who was coming has had to pull out so I’m doing the appointment on my own. Aside from egg collection I’ve been on my own through choice for everything else and this was the first one I’ve asked someone to come with me, so I know it will be fine but it’s made me feel a bit lonely/alone! Which is stupid as I’ve chosen to do this process alone and hardly tell anyone so it’s completely my own doing!

I had a lot of twinges and cramps last night. Trying to stay hopeful in that it could be implantation !

@IVFGotThis05 I've got a lot of twinges and cramps too. Hoping it turns into something! I have zero cm though. Other people said they had a lot so I'm not sure if having none is a bad sign

@Gensola that's stressful. Ots very frustrating when the clinics won't listen or try to help you. All the time you are just throwing good money after bad away. Its not right. Moving sounds a good idea.
@CycleGirl20 how bizarre the Germany rule?! Is that where you live, or are you just doing it abroad? And I didn't particularly notice any cm either.
@strawberrysummer19 I'm literally gobsmacked. I still don't believe it. Although I've not had any negative signs, the rest could all just be drugs so I really wasnt sure!
@Tinyhappypeople definitely understand the thaw worry. Fingers crossed for you. Its a shame your friend can't go. Whilst you've chosen to do things alone, this bit you didn't, so I think it makes sense why you feel alone. You have us! We all wish you well.

Still can't believe it. Thanks everyone! I will be following and keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you. 🤞 I actually think I could have put myself out of my misery earlier this week, looking how strong the line is. But I wanted to be sure. I think that's why they have otd so late- to be sure. But it's a long time to make us wait. My rhr had remained high (fitbit users will understand this) which did have me wondering. I did get some twinges at 3,4,5 days post transfer. But I've had that much going on with my stomach and digestive system, its not been easy to be sure. The last 2 nights I've had the progesterone itches in bed though and it's driving me mad.

Great news @paintfairy congratulations! Your signs were sounding encouraging in the 2WW.

Has anyone else tested or is due to test today/tomorrow? I think there were a few transfers around the same time.

My OTD is tomorrow but I don't want to test. Given the disaster I've had this time round I've felt so depressed and to be able to function with work etc I've tried to put all that emotion in a box - but when I test I know that's going to come back to bite me.

I've had none of the symptoms I had on my one transfer that got a BFP (which turned into a chemical) and given the transfer mistake I have no reason to hold out any hope. Still, seeing a BFN confirmed and knowing there'll be months before I can do anything more is going to be really devastating.

Good luck to everyone waiting for their news, I hope there are some more BFPs to report.

@lucymills1234 my OTD is Saturday - I'm a day later than you guys but don't think I will be able to bring myself to test early. Plus I'm on a long day at work tomorrow - working 13 hours isn't the best idea after taking a pregnancy test! I've had all sorts of symptoms, but I always do - I'm ridiculously sensitive to medication, I've no idea how you guys can guess whether it's worked or not 🤷‍♀️ plus I'm yet to buy a pregnancy test. Not sure what my plan is - think I'd wait a couple of months before taking a test if the clinic would let me 😂

@lucymills1234 I know how you feel. I'm no where near test day but with my 1bb that may be a 4bb I'm split between optimism and feeling like this one probably won't work for us and that I'm wasting emotional energy on something unlikely. I was of a mind to just not test and see if my period comes when I stop the progesterone. My DH wants to know though and I have a birthday party the weekend after and would like to enjoy some wine if I'm not pregnant.

@paintfairy yep I live in Germany at the moment. You'd think they'd be efficient but it seems like I'll be transferring one after another in no particular order, hoping to find a good one. I know poor quality embryos do work, but I'd rather start with the high-quality and work down. We don't even know if we have any high quality. An early blastocyst that may or may not have been a 4bb later the same day after transfer is our best! The other 10 were frozen on day 1.

@lucymills1234 its horrible testing. I honestly hate it, so I get that. I left it in the bathroom for 3 minutes and went into the bedroom. I was scared to go back and look! Horrible. And with your situation I completely don't blame you. But I think there's still a good chance, I honestly think the grades mean very little.

I didn't know to be honest. I get hot when walking (clammy hot) and I'm cold in the day. Freezing in fact. The night progesterone symptoms are likely pessary related, as is my digestive system. Because that was all happening before. My boobs are tender and it hasn't reduced, so that made me wonder. As I expected it to be dropping off by now. I've had no bleeding, no cm, nothing obvious at all really. Odd cramps that I've questioned whether they were even cramps. Nothing definitive.

My doctor had said my next cycle would be January if this one failed (I asked), so now I'm thinking of what festive drinks I'll have if that does happen to cheer myself up. What's everyone's favourite pregnancy unfriendly Xmas tipple/treat?

@CycleGirl20 I’ve already got this planned out… if it’s a BFN I’m investing in a bottle of spiced rum and some posh gin. I’ve even booked the day after test day off work in anticipation of the hangover

Yes, mine is also spiced rum ! I'll be straight on the Kraken with my other half :) and end the night with a baileys !

Just back from my transfer and not sure what to make of it. Not the nicest experience to be honest compared to the and feel a bit shaky, but happy and grateful my little embryo is safely back in.

Embryologist was a bit vague and not totally reassuring as apparently one part of the embryo was less expanded than the rest from the thaw. I did have others in the freezer so I guess they would of used those if they thought it wasn’t viable. She implied it was unusual, but I don’t know what to make of it. It was frozen as a 4AB blast but they couldn’t grade after the thaw

Saw a new consultant today who couldn’t find my cervix, then couldn’t pass the catheter through it. Had to stop and have half a wee then try again! After a lot more prodding she gave up and got the other consultant who got in first go. So the actual procedure bit took about 30 mins, I ended up crying and now definitely feel a bit sore and bruised.

Anyone had any experience with part expanded embryos or stubborn cervix’s?!

@Tinyhappypeople that sounds like an ordeal. It's horrible when they're telling you mixed things. I didn't have any cervix issue but it was sketchy for a moment at one point but then the catheter went through.
