I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

Hi @TheSnufflet 🥰

We did ISCI (partner has low morphology) and out of 7 eggs 6 made it to 5 day blast, transferred one and froze 5 😊 I'm sure you'll have better luck this time round!

Hi @Giraffe971 eek that's exciting! We'll all be going through it roughly the same time which is nice 😊

@2021babyhope wow those are great numbers! Was that your first round of IVF? I got 7 eggs last time but as my husband's sample was good on the day they did conventional IVF instead, with terrible results.. really hoping I can get more eggs this round and ICSI will do the trick!

2021babyhope · 10/09/2021 10:16

@TheSnufflet yeah our first round 😊 looking forward to our FET! It'll be our second transfer so keeping our fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I'm sure you'll do great this round 🥰

Hi everyone 👋

@Newbee33 are you starting this week? Exciting :)

@TheSnufflet thank you. I'm so sorry to hear what happened in your last round, I've got everything crossed that icsi is what you need 🤞

@Littleblue80 I'm sorry about your embryo this cycle, I'm glad you are able to move forward with your FET

@ChristmasJumpers hello, it will depend on what protocol they put you on. I was on short, so started stims on cd2, no down regulation.

How are you @2021babyhope?

I've got my nurse consultation this week, so hopefully can get my meds ordered. I saw our doctor a couple of weeks ago and finalised my plan. I'll be on progynova from cd2, add on fragmin about a week before transfer. I did an ERA so I need 120 hours of progesterone before transfer (in my fresh cycle I only had 108 hours), so I'm hoping we're in with a good chance. Only transferring one and we have 2 frosties 🙏 af is due around 1 October, so hopefully transfer with be mid October x

Littleblue80 · 11/09/2021 12:56

Hi @VenusStarr that’s great you can start on CD2, and we are in double digit September… October is nearly here 💪 having two Frosties is amazing, fingers crossed the extra progesterone will help, I love a change in protocol, it means the consultants are paying attention and hopefully this increases your chances 🤞

@Giraffe971, you never know, your journey could well be straightforward, I hope so! Isn’t it so surreal when it all gets going, it’s all so abstract until you actually begin taking injections and going to scans etc. One day at a time.. that’s what i told myself when I collected 5 big bags of medication!

@TheSnufflet, in a way, finding a problem, frustrating as it was, at least they know what the problem is an hopefully the change to isci will massively improve your chances!

And to all the amazing ladies reading and contributing to this thread, I am in awe of the sheer determination, strength and resilience that I am reading about 🙌✊ to all the mammies, want to be mammies and soon to be mammies… you’re all incredible 👏👏

theotherfossilsister · 11/09/2021 17:55

Hello, I'm (with luck) starting down regulation with my October period for our first NHS round, but I just got called to Jury Service (made another post about this.)

We're having ICSI.

It's good to recognise some old names, although I wish none of us were going through this.

Newbee33 · 11/09/2021 20:24

@VenusStarr Yep drug appointment is on Thursday so I think all going well with catheter test it will be down reg starting day 23 I think they said. Unsure when that would put EC and ET but maybe I will find out on Thurs?
@Littleblue80 5 big bags of meds sounds like alot.

VenusStarr · 13/09/2021 12:00

@Newbee33 my clinic didn't commit to a time for egg collection or transfer but I know some do. Fingers crossed for Thursday.

We had our consents come through, eek. Starting to feel more real again now and the fear is setting in 😬

2021babyhope · 13/09/2021 12:04

Hey everyone 🥰 sorry been a bit quiet! Not a lot to report until our follow up on the 30th!

Hope you're all okay??

I did read something about checking progesterone levels and seeing if that will make a difference this time round.

Still hoping they'll let me transfer two 😅

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 13/09/2021 13:31

Hi @2021babyhope I had my progesterone checked 2 days after my fresh transfer and it was 56 which the clinic said was OK but then I bled at 7dp5dt and then tested positive but my progesterone dropped to 20, so my clinic are putting me on lubion 5 days before transfer this time, so I'll be on 2x400mg of cyclogest and 1 lubion injection a day. 🤞 That's what we need 🙏

Definitely get yours checked. Is yours a natural FET? Hopefully they'll let you do 2 :)

2021babyhope · 13/09/2021 13:45

@VenusStarr ooh that's interesting - I'll deff bring it up with my consultant! I'm not sure if that's what caused our chemical but I'd be happier knowing I think.

I'm not sure yet, I'm hoping for an unmedicated cycle but as they don't work sundays I'm not sure they'll let me!

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 13/09/2021 13:50

Hopefully with a natural FET you'll be producing your own progesterone too @2021babyhope but for peace of mind it's good to know isn't it?

I'm doing progynova from cd2, so no ovulation but not a long down regulation either. I did a mock cycle with the estrogen in August so I kind of know what to expect (emotional and nauseous! 😂) we'll both be wishing the next few weeks away :)

TheSnufflet · 14/09/2021 12:19

@2021babyhope I think I recognise your name actually - are you having treatment at Bourn Hall? Swear I remember your name from another thread!

@VenusStarr fingers massively crossed for you, it's great that you have two in the freezer Smile

@Littleblue80 oh for sure, at least we know what the issue is now... it's just so gutting to have to go through a TFF, I had mentally prepared myself for embryos dying off, or not making it to day 5, or having a transfer fail, but I hadn't prepared for no fertilisation at all Sad

All my meds arrive tomorrow and my old friend buserelin starts on the 26th... feeling very real again lol!

2021babyhope · 14/09/2021 12:25

@TheSnufflet yeah that's right 😊 I was one the July/August thread I think!

I had my first scan. I built it up in my mind as a big deal but it was fine. They could see 20 follicles and they seemed quite pleased with that. I'd got myself in a bit of panic as my train was delayed and I was literally running to the clinic and I forgot to ask any questions but I've got another appt at the end of the week. Wasnt a big fan of the dr who did it, she was quite matter of fact and didn't laugh at my jokes 😕

The dr said I was good to go for my next cycle but there's no chance of that as my period is going to start any minute now so it'll be mid October for me.

theotherfossilsister · 15/09/2021 18:07

@Giraffe971 20 follicles is amazing! They saw eight for me.

I'm just starting September period too so looks like we'll be on the same dates-ish.

On annual leave now for three weeks and trying to be crazy healthy although just had a hot chocolate and a brownie as my period demanded it. My BMI is 27 though so I should really work on that.

At the nurse's appointment she got my weight confused with DP's which I was unhappy about. A mistake I know, but I'm eleven stone, not fourteen and a half.

VenusStarr · 15/09/2021 18:22

Great news @Giraffe971 tell us your jokes ☺️

Exciting that you're starting soon @theotherfossilsister you definitely deserve that hot chocolate and brownie!

Had our nurse consultation for our FET, consents all signed, so just waiting for my period. Pretty sure I'm ovulating today, so on track for the end of September / early October 🙏

Giraffe971 · 15/09/2021 20:54

@VenusStarr I'm sure my jokes were abysmal and are best never mentioned again.

@theotherfossilsister I've been doing a low carb low sugar, lots of veg thing and it's really been working. I've got a sweet tooth so it's been a struggle. I'm thinner than I've been in ages but I can't wait to go back to eating cookies.

I'd be very annoyed if someone said I was 14 stone. The clinic made me stand on the scale to check my bmi was under 30, bit offended she couldn't just look at me and tell haha 😆 I feel like I'm skin and bones at this point (I'm really not but I bloody feel like it 😅).

theotherfossilsister · 17/09/2021 05:37

@giraffe971 I was actually really offended to the point I'm struggling to let it go. She also went on about how they'd check my bmi again before egg retrieval so get it below thirty, even after verifying it's 27. Going to try to get it to 25 though. She was actually the mum of a friend from university too, which was weird, but I know she won't discuss me with my friend, she made a big point of that when she saw it was us.

Thank you @VenusStarr

Ah ovulation. Do you still do that mad thing of hoping it will happen naturally even though it's been years?

I'm just on my way to see my folks in France. Dad has pancreatic cancer so sadly it might be the last time I see him. I wish I was fertile so he could meet my baby.

At least France is great for long walks, with my parents dog who runs away a lot, or preferably without her,. and my parents eat pretty well.

Tiredandobsessed · 18/09/2021 17:01

Hi all, please can I jump on? Waiting for AF to arrive (due in a week or so) so that we can start down reg on CD21, hoping that everything will go smoothly and we'll be lucky enough for EC & ET in November. This is our first round so I have no idea what's actually happening, after a mmc and then surgery to remove both my tubes I feel like I have no control over anything but just going with it at the moment 😬

lauradxoxo · 19/09/2021 13:34

Hi ladies, hopefully you don’t mind if I join. I’ve just had a BFN after my first fresh cycle. Luckily I have some Frosties so I’m hoping to start FET when AF arrives next month. Does anyone know how long a mediated get takes? And how do your clinic chose wether you will be doing medicated or natural? Xxx

Tinyhappypeople · 19/09/2021 19:53

Hi all, getting ready for a frozen round to start day 21 of next cycle. @2021babyhope our timings sound very similar- I had a transfer on 18th Aug, had v faint positives day 9-11 but started bleeding at the same time, and hcg less than 5 by day 13.

I did join a thread at the start of my fresh cycle but got totally overwhelmed (didn’t cope too well with the process to be honest) and dropped off it. So for this go would be good to try and keep connected with others!

Currently waiting for af hopefully by next weekend so I can ring the clinic to get going.

Having major anxiety at the moment about my embryos which has floored me a bit. I used an anonymous donor (doing this alone) and I’m terrified of them withdrawing consent. Which is possible, although extremely rare. Also thinking of all kinds of other irrational possibilities of things going wrong with them, which is making me desperate to get one safely back in ASAP!!

@Tiredandobsessed welcome 😊 aah that's exciting! Have you got your plan through?

Time will fly by!
