IVF/FET October/November 21

I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

When I was doing a middle of the night google I found this:

In the case of in vitro fertilization (IVF), the fertilized eggs or human blastocysts normally hatch out of their shell and start to implant about 1 or 2 days after the 5th day of the IVF blastocyst transfer. This means the implantation takes place about 7 to 8 days after fertilization of the egg.

So they could be bedding in now!! I wish I had a camera where I could see what’s going on all the time in there!

@strawberrysummer19 I feel the same. I've had enough of the drugs. And if I have to keep taking them pointlessly I'll not be happy! I can't wait to stop.

@Gensola I've read conflicting things about implantation windows. I guess my doctor knows best anyhow, or at least I'm trying to reassure myself she'll have done what she knows to be optimum.

How did your frozen transfer work? I'm trying to focus on having this 4bc in the fridge with the potential of a transfer next month if dates work out. It's a lower quality embryo but should give me a 25% chance so why not. If a frozen transfer lined up with my normal cycle I'd known of it'd worked or not enough before Xmas to enjoy some drinks and so on if it failed. Plus a 4bc is unlikely to work so would have low expectations

@makeithappen2022 I read that too, so I'm assuming the twinges I had all last night were implantation 😂. I've also decided mine was slow growing because it's a girl.

I'm defo not going to the loo enough either

@makeithappen2022 I didn’t really understand that - does 1-2 days “after the fifth day of transfer” not imply 6 or 7 days after transfer? Or does it mean 1-2 days after a 5 day old embryo is transferred 😂 I am actually an academic but IVF makes me feel very stupid!!

@Gensola @CycleGirl20 I think the fact is (ivf or not) that everyone is different. So some people implant earlier than others. I think it means 2 days after transfer though because the blast is already 5 days old. Therefore implantation is about 7 dpo. But it'll massively vary depending on the person and also the stage of the blast. As we all know they grow at different rates.

I don't think my clinic will do a FET straight after a failed fresh. They make you have a break?

@paintfairy that makes sense. Yeah my clinic usually ask you to bleed post failed transfer (withdrawal bleed) then have one normal period before starting a FET.

@Gensola yes I thought it was something like that. So I'd be looking at February time maybe.

It’s all very confusing isn't it! And I agree each person is different and so is each blast so who knows… I’m going with that it should have been snuggled in by the weekend!

Anyone in tww just hungry all the time !? lol Or I just think about food all the time. I'm probably just being a lil piggy but I think about a full english breakfast every day !

@IVFGotThis05 yes! I've been wanting cooked breakfasts, I haven't though. I've been starving and wanting proper food, no sweet stuff. I've not been overly unhealthy but I have been eating more. I don't usually bother much in the day but I had a sandwich earlier.

Na I still haven't had one ! Yeah mines more like wanting breakfasts and chinese! I'm not overeating or anything and when I do eat I get full really quick. But I'm still constantly thinking about delicious food lol :)

This is a big gross, so apologies, but has anyone else found their progesterone suppositories are a bit gunky up there. Like wet toilet roll? I'm worried it's gonna give me an infection. My cervix seems to have retreated to safety up there as it's pretty high 😬.

@paintfairy did you decide when to test?

Yep I’ve been eating nonstop and have piled on the pounds. Thankfully can cover up the pounds with jumpers but face has gotten really round. I remember that about the suppositories. Will they let you put through the back passage?

Hey guys I am also new to the process and I wanted some advice from you ladies as you have all been through it. So I have all tests, unexplained infertility we have the confirmation of funding and the letter just said our appointments team will be in contact shortly 🙄 so how long should I wait before maybe calling them it's been 2 weeks and I know that sounds inpatient but the waiting is killing me I just want to get started! Any one any advice how long you waited until your appointment came through? Good luck to everyone on your cycles sounds like alot of you are starting this month xx

TMI .. I've been putting mine back passage because I read about all the chalky discharge through the other way so didn't want that. I've had no problems at the back end!

@paintfairy I admire your restraint and anyone else who hasn't tested. I normally last five days before testing! Although this time 5 days post transfer falls on my birthday so not sure I'll do that this time!

@Luluspies depends on your location and the waiting list for the clinic you’ve selected. My clinic wanted to run some further scans and test (AMH, hep B, Hep C and HIV) before starting. It doesn’t hurt to call them to find out when they have appointments and to call you if they have cancellations

My test day is a week today Wooo! Although @Chrischross I could be tempted to test early !

My test day is the 27th. I’m so impatient, I would test today if I could but I know my embed is still hatching and trying to attach itself today. The clinic asked me not to test early, I said it was likely I would test early and the nurse advised not to use FMU which I found interesting.

@CycleGirl20 yep, it's gross. If you are on cyclogest you can use it the back way as @IVFGotThis05 says. Its much easier. I'm on utrogestan though and you can't do it with that. Trying to sit still after using it 3 times a day is ridiculous. But yeah whatever you have- the hormone absorbs but the carrier has to come out I'm afraid!
@Hufflepuff1 restraint is hard!

My otd is this Friday. It'll be 13dp5dt. I would have tested today but my OH is out all day and not back until really late. No one else knows so I thought being on my own all day might not be a good thing. But if I can manage to not wee 300 times tonight, I'm going to cave and test tomorrow.
