Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

Hey everyone,

It's a BFN for me 😞

It's hard to get my head around because I kept convincing myself that i was pregnant. It doesn't quite feel real yet.

But if I'm the not pregnant statistic, let's hope the rest of you in the tww are stats for the positive column.

Can't wait to hear how @Hopeful1234567 gets on today. And @lawandgin When's your test day?

lawandgin · 20/08/2021 15:11

I'm so sorry @Becky105 Sad I hope you can take some time with your fiance and also enjoy a glass of something cold and fizzy to celebrate your engagement. My OTD is Monday but I am probably going to test this weekend as I am going slowly demented over here and I would like to prepare myself for the disappointment on Monday at my own pace. (Sorry, I know I sound like such a negative person but it's just my way of protecting myself).

I really hope @Hopeful1234567 has good news today.

Welcome @Giraffe971 - it feels like not so long ago I was going for my first scan and now I'm almost at the end of my tww. You never know, I might be a cycle buddy in October as if it hasn't worked this time, I won't be going in September as we are going away.

Hopeful1234567 · 20/08/2021 18:47

I can’t believe in writing this but I had a BFP 😭😭😭😭. I was 197 today. Don’t know how to react or what to say. Literally had no symptoms either apart from slight brown discharge on Day 7. Know it’s still early days so very cautious but happy to know I can get this far. Feel like it will drag until the 7 week scan! Thankyou to everyone on this group for being so supportive I don’t know what I would have done without you all. During the bad times this forum has been the only thing to get me through. I can’t thankyou enough.

lawandgin · 20/08/2021 19:04

Oh that is brilliant news @Hopeful1234567 I am so pleased for you! Great beta number as well. Now begins the long wait for the scan!

@Bitterman I weighed myself earlier and I am now up 7lbs and in more pain. I think I have late onset ohss Confused

Bitterman · 20/08/2021 19:16

I'm so sorry @Becky105, I hope that you and your fiance get through this tough time together xx

Congratulations @Hopeful1234567 i hope the time to your scan goes quickly.

@lawandgin if maybe your symptoms are worsening because you are now making some extra HCG? Definitely contact ABC and also your gp because they can check in with you every couple of days.
The one piece of advice i cherished from the gynae consultant was drink to thirst and not to a 2l + goal because you're already so uncomfotable and full of fluid.

lawandgin · 20/08/2021 19:20

@Bitterman well I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought of that possibility.... thank you for the advice, I think I am going to call ABC tomorrow. I also think I'm also going to test, even though I'll only be 9dp3dt 🙃

Hopeful1234567 · 20/08/2021 22:45

@Giraffe971 Welcome! Wishing you lots of luck of your journey it will soon come around and is an exciting time.
@Bitterman Thankyou so much
@lawandgin Thankyou 💓. Routing for you!!!
@Becky105 So sorry. Thinking of you both. Xxx

Bitterman · 21/08/2021 14:09

@Giraffe971 it goes really quickly when you're in the thick of it, I wish you all the luck in the world!

@lawandgin how are you doing today, are you feeling any better?

kittyfantastico21 · 21/08/2021 14:19

@Giraffe971 welcome! Exciting to be getting started after such a long wait!

@Becky105 I’m so sorry. Sending you hugs and support. I hope you and your partner can do some nice things to help yourselves feel better until you try again. As others have said, enjoy a drink to celebrate your engagement!

@lawandgin good luck for testing this weekend! Wishing you a positive result. I hope your OHSS hasn’t got worse and you can get some support from the clinic on that.

@Hopeful1234567 congratulations! Such brilliant news! I’m so happy for you. Hope you cope better with the three week wait until the scan than I have haha!

I had another episode of spotting/bleeding yesterday and it was red this time and more than last time. ABC brought my scan forward to Tuesday but couldn’t get me in any earlier than that. I was really worried so I managed to get a referral to my local EPU and they got me in for a scan yesterday afternoon. Everything’s fine and they couldn’t see where the bleeding could have come from. But the big shock was we’re having twins! Only one embryo transferred so they’ll be identical. We saw both heartbeats, which was amazing, and I’m so relieved and happy that they’re okay and measuring right for the date but I’m also feeling really daunted about the prospect of having two newborn babies and how we’ll cope. It had only just sunk in that we were having one baby! At least we have a while to get used to the idea of two.

Hopeful1234567 · 21/08/2021 14:36

@kittyfantastico21 that must have been so scary but I’m so pleased you could get it checked out and even more amazing news that you are having twins! Really really pleased for you both!!!! 💓💓💓. Don’t know how I’m going to cope with waiting for the scan as just want to know now and I’m so cautious this is early days and could be taken away from us. Don’t have any symptoms with this apart from having the odd twinge every few hours down there. Xx

kittyfantastico21 · 21/08/2021 14:42

@Hopeful1234567 yeah it was pretty scary and I went in to the scan convinced it would be bad news so it was such a relief! I wouldn’t worry about not having symptoms. Mine were really on and off for the first two weeks after my test and it was only when i hit six weeks (or a day or two before) that I started getting nausea and exhaustion. Enjoy it while it lasts! (I know that’s easier said than done, I was constantly worried every time I had a day with no symptoms).

Bitterman · 21/08/2021 15:58

@kittyfantastico21 oh my goodness! How terrifying but exciting ! I'm glad you're ok and have been checked over xx

It's good you can just go to your EPU now though as well as calling ABC. I bet you had the shock of your lives!

At least you get to see them again really soon!

On an unrelated note I have a question about the blood tests and embryology emails - mainly because I haven't received anything other than appointment reminders via email - is this something they are supposed to send or do I have to specifically ask for the results and embryology information?

Hopeful1234567 · 21/08/2021 16:35

@kittyfantastico21 Thankyou that does help me. I will defo be like that if I don’t have any symptoms daily but like you say better to enjoy it while it lasts. It’s just hard going through this process as feel like I’m constantly thinking the worst and trying not to attach myself. Have you had any blood tests since your BFP to confirm the rising Beta? I asked my clinic about it but they said wait till the scan. Silly question here aswell but what does EPU mean 🙈🙈🙈

Bitterman · 21/08/2021 16:42

@Hopeful1234567 EPU means early pregnancy unit ,it's like A+E or urgent care but for people under 16-20 weeks pregnant, if your local hospital has one then you will be referred there for any issues like unexplained bleeding and pain etc rather than wait hours at accident and emergency.

Hopeful1234567 · 21/08/2021 17:06

@Bitterman oh that makes sense. Thankyou for that!

Prayingforabubba · 22/08/2021 00:30

@kittyfantastico21 I don't know if you remember me but we spoke back in may (I had the total fertilisation failure). I just read up a bit and saw that you are pregnant with identical twins! Congratulations 🥳 😍 I have identical twins (who were conceived naturally 5 years ago) and it is a beautiful journey! Made me smile just reading your post! Goodluck for your pregnancy, try and stay off google because it's a scary place when trying to research on twins ! X

lawandgin · 22/08/2021 09:36

Morning all, well I am pleased to report I have had a BFP! I'm totally shocked and I'm disbelief, well I was until I started developing late onset ohss and then I was reasonably confident as to what would come! I actually tested yesterday and had a strong line on a FRER and also a good line on a clearblue. Today I've had a positive digital! I am in a lot of pain with the ohss and I am going to phone the clinic this morning just so I can get it checked out. @kittyfantastico21 I nearly dropped my phone when I saw your post so I can't imagine how you are feeling! Huge congratulations, how very special xxx

kittyfantastico21 · 22/08/2021 10:58

@lawandgin amazing news! Congratulations! I’m so happy for you. I really hope the OHSS won’t last for too long and that the clinic will be able to help you manage it.

@Prayingforabubba I do remember you, I hope you’re doing okay. Thank you! At the moment one of my fears is that I won’t be able to tell them apart. Do you remember how long it took you to be able to tell your twins apart?

Bitterman · 22/08/2021 11:06

@lawandgin congratulations! Glad you've updated, I was thinking of you all yesterday hoping you were ok x

I hope the OHSS symptoms become bearable and monitored regularly for you.

My symptoms have all but disappeared so I'm assuming I'll be in the BFN camp this go round but this thread is as someone else said earlier, a source of comfort.

lawandgin · 22/08/2021 11:11

Thanks @Bitterman I felt bad not replying yesterday but I wanted to double check again this morning before I committed myself! Silly I know as it's not as if it was a squinter. No symptoms definitely doesn't mean you are out as a lot of ladies on this thread will tell you! I'm just about to ring the clinic, I'm worried what they are going to say or that I'm going to have to sit in A&E for hours feeling totally crap.

Bitterman · 22/08/2021 12:15

You will be referred to your local EPU - you can use NHS 111 or just look up your local one and call them, you won't have to wait in A+E , I hope it goes well xx

lawandgin · 22/08/2021 12:33

@Bitterman nope, she just said oh yes sounds like you have mild OHSS, but come in for your blood test tomorrow and we will also check your liver and kidney function! No advice about what to do if it gets worse or anything. I mean obviously I will call 111 if it does, but I was was bit confused!

kittyfantastico21 · 22/08/2021 12:43

@lawandgin definitely call 111 if things get worse. I drank lucozade sport for the electrolytes when I was struggling after my EC, not sure if that was what helped or not but worth a try maybe. Really hoping it gets better soon for you.

lawandgin · 22/08/2021 12:46

@kittyfantastico21 I will definitely do that, thank you. The thought of this lasting potentially several weeks is tough... one day at a time!

Hopeful1234567 · 22/08/2021 16:15

@lawandgin OMG how amazing!!!! So pleased for you 😍😍😍😍. Congratulations xx
