Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

Thanks again for everyone’s supportive messages!

@kittyfantastico21 I’m sure you’ve absolutely nothing to worry about but if you’re going to be worrying anyways I would get bloods done, it’s only £55 at ABC. And you can have peace of mind in 48 hours rather than waiting 10 days.

@Becky105 how’s the not drinking going in Ireland?! Hope you’re getting away with it!

kittyfantastico21 · 17/08/2021 09:59

@Clapham4 thanks (and it's helpful to know how much it costs!). I'm keeping it in mind but this morning I've been very nauseous (hooray!) and yesterday and today ALL food is unappealing to me even when I'm hungry - very uncharacteristic for me! So I think those are good signs, and as there's also been no sign of any more spotting I'm a lot less worried now. This week is one of my busiest work weeks of the year so it would be quite difficult and stressful to get away to the clinic twice for blood tests two days apart.

Clapham4 · 17/08/2021 10:24

Yay for symptoms @kittyfantastico21!! I hope you continue to feel horrendous 😂 But that’s such a good sign!💕

lawandgin · 17/08/2021 11:09

Excellent news on the symptoms @kittyfantastico21 - long may they continue!

This tww is killing me, I'm only 5dp3dt and desperate to test even though I know it wouldn't be a reliable result! My blood test is next Monday but I'm inclined to do a HPT at the weekend so I have some time to process before needing to be back at work. Do you all think that would give an accurate enough result? I'll be 9dp3dt on Saturday. Assuming of course I don't start bleeding before then as I tend to have quite a short luteal phase.

Bitterman · 17/08/2021 16:22

Hi all, the update from the embryologist on the two remaining eggs wasn't good I'm afraid so nothing suitable for freezing. One stopped developing and the other defragmented.
I am feeling quite sad about it and worried the ET was an embryo which is destined for the same fate so I'm just anxious about the tww now.

@kittyfantastico21 fabulous news! Sorry you feel crappy but glad it's a positive sign!

@lawandgin if you can't hold off then go for it at the weekend, they say 11 days PT don't they but have booked mine for 15 dpt so if I feel a bit better about my transferred embryo I might test earlier in the run up.

kittyfantastico21 · 17/08/2021 16:40

@Clapham4 haha, thank you! I hope so too!

@lawandgin well done for getting through another day in the TWW. I'd probably hold off until Sunday morning if it was me, because I'd be paranoid about the trigger still being in my system. But 9dp3dt would be 14 days after the trigger I think so probably would be fine? I totally understand not wanting to find out in the morning before work, though.

@Bitterman sorry you had disappointing news on your embryos. It may be that the one that was transferred will do better in the environment of your uterus rather than the lab, so I wouldn't give up hope on it! I hope you have something nice to watch or do this evening to try to take your mind off it.

Becky105 · 17/08/2021 18:19

Hi all,
@Clapham4 I was naive to think Ireland of all places would be somewhere I could slip my tee-totalness under the rug lol. I'm giving more and more elaborate lies about antibiotics and needing to lie down after them 🤣🤣🤣

It's been a heck of a week. I got engaged on the 13th (couldn't drink to celebrate... Boo) and just generally panicking about every breath I take.

I caved and did a test at 6dpt... Nothing but i told myself that was like a control test, no hcg from trigger left in my system so any positives from here on in I can trust. Did another test today 8dpt...nothing. I know it's still early to be testing but I'm a bit less convinced that it's worked for me. Maybe it's healthier that i start to really think it hasn't worked and if it has it'll be a nice surprise.

kittyfantastico21 · 18/08/2021 09:21

@Becky105 congratulations on your engagement! That’s such lovely news! 8dp is still pretty early. Have you tested again this morning?

Becky105 · 18/08/2021 09:30

Thank you @kittyfantastico21 it was a lovely surprise. No I haven't tested again today, I wasn't sure whether to bother again between now and the 20th (when abc told me to test). When did you do yours and get your positive? My blood test should be today if I was at home

kittyfantastico21 · 18/08/2021 11:42

I got my positive on 9dp5dt but I had a frozen cycle, I don’t know if that makes any difference. Might be best to hold off until the date abc told you as 9dp5dt seems quite early compared to other clinics.

lawandgin · 18/08/2021 12:28

Congratulations on your engagement @Becky105 - that's lovely news. Sorry you couldn't drink though. It's must be so hard being convincing about the reasons why you aren't drinking! I saw my parents at the weekend and wasn't drinking or vaping and I'm sure they thought that was very odd!

@kittyfantastico21 you are right that 8/9dp is still quite early so I may not get a conclusive result anyway. But I already know I will give in by then! Blush

ThinnerByDinner · 18/08/2021 16:58

Just on my way home from my embryo transfer! We did a 3 day transfer, my other 2 are still growing and they are going to update on day 5/6 with how they’re doing and if we have any to freeze. I didn’t get the info of the grade of this embryo on board but when she rang me yesterday it was a 4 Cell Grade 1 and that one was still the best one today but I didn’t catch how many cells or what grade it was today, I was too distracted by everything going on. Is there anyway I can find out? Or shall I just wait till she calls me in a few days with my update and ask her then. Not sure if the clinic would know?
Embryo transfer was fine, so quick and painless thankfully. Enroute to her some McDonalds Fries and then put my feet up for the night!

lawandgin · 18/08/2021 17:31

Excellent news @ThinnerByDinner and welcome to the tww! You could call them, I imagine it will be on your notes. Don't panic if they don't call you on day 5 BTW, they didn't call me again until 11am on day 6! Xx

ThinnerByDinner · 19/08/2021 16:32

I managed to speak to the embryologist this afternoon and apparently the embryo was still really good and a compacting morula that they transferred yesterday (3 day transfer). Not sure I’ve heard of that before but hoping it’s ok! We shall see!

Hope all you ladies are doing ok!

Hopeful1234567 · 19/08/2021 16:43

@ThinnerByDinner congratulations on your transfer very excited for you and have all my fingers crossed for your other embryo!

@kittyfantastico21 glad you are doing well and you are having lots of symptoms!

@lawandgin hope it flies by for you! Wishing you all the best.

I have my blood test tomorrow. Had no symptoms from this transfer apart the smallest amount of brown discharge on day 7 but really trying not to think anything into it. Haven’t done any testing as my partner wants to see what the blood test says. Just feeling very nervous about it as do not know what to except!

Bitterman · 19/08/2021 16:57

Hi ladies! The embryologist called yesterday morning to say we have one lovely looking day 6 blastocyst and that the defragmentation was all around the outside so won't affect the quality inside and she recommended freezing as it was now a very good embryo! Delighted! So now we have one glimmer of hope on ice.

Also TMI but I had been suffering quite badly with bloating and diarrhoea as well as back and pelvic pain , I called the clinic three times to say I was worried it was OHSS but each time the nurse kept trying to convince me I had a stomach bug. I gave it a couple of days to account for the antibiotics being the possible cause but it continued and noone in the house got sick so I ended up using NHS 111 and going to my local urgent care even though I know there's no treatment and it did seem to be resolving bloat wise but the pain became unbearable and I'd had to fold myself in half just to get to the car when I thought I'd be ok to get a few bits from Tesco.

I just needed to feel heard and not stir crazy. Both the Dr I saw and the gynae consultant he brought in agreed it was a moderate case of OHSS and that I can continue with my fluids, gentle walking and daily weighing to monitor it's reduction. Otherwise regardless of the negative test I am to present at the local early pregnancy unit if it gets any worse.

At least the negative means it will hopefully get better soon since the trigger is gone from my system and just knowing I wasn't mad made me feel ten times better!
@Becky105 congratulations on your engagement!

@kittyfantastico21 thank you , I just watched some Netflix and ate my weight in crisps (like most nights lol) but I am feeling much more positive now and trying not to psych myself up for a result in either direction.

@ThinnerByDinner welcome to the worst part of the whirlwind!

@lawandgin how have you managed in giving up the vaping? I found it really difficult even though I reduced my mg to 0.3 and thought it would be easier!

lawandgin · 19/08/2021 17:07

Great news on the embryo quality @ThinnerByDinner hopefully you feel a bit better now.

Good luck for tomorrow @Hopeful1234567. We are all rooting for you Flowers

@Bitterman ooh great news on the embryo but sorry to hear about the OHSS! I must admit I wasn't expecting to still feel so bloated and uncomfortable at 7dp3dt so I had wondered if I had a touch of OHSS myself. I've actually put on about 4 pounds since EC. Fingers crossed it will reduce now the trigger is out of your system and before you get your bfp Wink I didn't find giving up the vaping too bad to be honest. I'd been mixing 0.3 and zero liquids for some time and then switched to straight zero. After breaking the residual nicotine addiction, I've not found it too bad - although I am definitely eating more for something to do with my hands! I've vaped for 7 years so thought it would be really hard, but I've been pleasantly surprised!

Bitterman · 19/08/2021 17:26

@lawandgin I think OHSS is probably a lot more common than the medical works would like to think and it should be expected more than dismissed. Thankfully the toilet is no longer my best friend and I don't have to amble about like the fat controller Grin - I ended up 7lbs heavier on my worst day despite all the trips to and from the bathroom but I'm only 3lbs over now so a bloody good sign! I hope you feel better with it soon too xx

kittyfantastico21 · 19/08/2021 17:27

@ThinnerByDinner glad your transfer went well! I hope you have as calm a TWW as possible!

@Hopeful1234567 good luck for your test tomorrow! I have everything crossed for you!

@Bitterman great news on your embryo making it to the freezer! I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling so rough though. I suspect I had very mild OHSS and it was horrible so I'm glad you went to urgent care and got taken seriously. Hopefully it will subside soon.

@Becky105 good luck for your test tomorrow! Wishing you a positive!

Only one more week to go for me until scan day. This is the slowest three weeks I have ever experienced!

lawandgin · 19/08/2021 18:16

ooh yes, good luck to @Becky105 too - I hadn't realised the date (even though I've been writing it on letters all day long at work....)

@kittyfantastico21 surely it cannot be longer than the tww?! Grin I am losing my mind over here!

lawandgin · 19/08/2021 18:17

@Bitterman haha the fat controller, that really made me laugh! I also think it is more common than they would have us believe....

Bitterman · 19/08/2021 20:58

@Hopeful1234567 and @Becky105 good vibes going your way for tomorrow! So exciting!

@kittyfantastico21 have you got plenty to occupy you in the run up to your scan?

I've been researching items we might need and some we absolutely will not need and are too expensive but fun to look at like the wifi baby chair in the competition on here lol

As for OHSS I definitely think its more common than they make out, from what the consultant said even the cases which require admission are dealt with by watchful waiting unless there is risk of DVT or fluid in the lungs.

@lawandgin didn't think I'd be made a weeble until at least April Grin it's been quite an education the past few months!

Hopeful1234567 · 19/08/2021 21:16

Thankyou so much everyone for your lovely messages!
Routing lots for you @Becky105! 💓💓💓

Becky105 · 19/08/2021 22:06

Thank you all so much for congratulating me on my engagement I'm over the moon.

On the other hand I've done a few home pregnancy tests days 6,8, and 10 post transfer and they've all been negative. I've had various cramping pains and started bleeding a bit from yesterday.

I spoke to abc about it today and they said that the bleeding I've described is fairly common at this stage and the fact is brown rather than red is more positive... But I'm really doubtful that I'll have good news tomorrow.

@Hopeful1234567 I've got everything crossed for you. Go smash that blood test tomorrow 😘

I'll cross everything for me too but I'm trying to adjust my expectations.

Sending love and luck to everyone, this group is such a source of comfort.

Giraffe971 · 20/08/2021 11:06

Hi ladies. So excited to be joining you. I had my first virtual appt during lockdown last year due due to covid and house buying everything has been on hold. I've got my first scan in a couple weeks so fingers crossed all goes well and they said Id be starting my first cycle in October.
