Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

Hello.. I am new to this thread, need some help. I have started my treatment in ABC Harley street. I had my Day 7 scan today and the follicles are still very small..between 5 to 8mm. I was on bemfola 112.5 dose and now they have increased to 125mm. Has anyone been this situation where follicles are growing too slow? I am worried if they will cancel my cycle because of slow response.

Bean99 · 14/04/2021 19:50

I hope everyone is doing well. Just wondering after people had their initial consultation did you have to have your case reviewed by MDT before going ahead? I have such a strong fear of being rejected and wondering if it's standard procedure? They reviewed me today and have a consultant phoning in 48 hours with the outcome. It sounds terrifying and I can't stop thinking they'll say no 😩😩😩

Thanks

HopingForRainbow2021 · 15/04/2021 08:17

@AkiHope2021 I don’t remember what mine were like at that stage last time, but it is still early days, so try not to worry. Their philosophy is a mild approach and to tweak medication as needed. They haven’t upped your bemfola by a huge amount, so I’m sure they’re confident to see a response. Hope your next scan gives some reassurance xx

@Bean99 which clinic are you with? I’m at Harley street and they told me on the day. I’m not sure what circumstances mean they review before letting you know - but it could be a different clinics practice. Hopefully someone will be along that can help you more xx

Bean99 · 15/04/2021 08:39

@HopingForRainbow2021 I'm also with Harley Street. I'm a wheelchair user and have a history of mental health problems. They wouldn't tell me anything and said I had to wait for the consultant to call. I'm terrified because if they do reject me I won't ever have kids 😩😩 xx

HopingForRainbow2021 · 15/04/2021 08:47

@Bean99 I am so sorry you are going through this wait for information. It’s all so anxiety provoking at the best of times. I would maybe call or email them explaining that it’s really difficult waiting for the outcome of the review, and ask if it would be possible to have a consultant call you any sooner xx

Hello I was just wondering if anyone called tell me how much a deposit would be for treatment I have our baseline tests on the 4th of may and they consultation on the 12th it's says you pay a deposit then? Is it a percentage of the total cost? Thank you

Becky105 · 17/04/2021 00:20

Hi @Herehoping93 so to book my baseline scan and initial consultation there sas a deal on and I think we paid £205 (instead of full price £410). Once you've had that and they confirm that you meet their treatment requirements (good ovarian reserve - which they'll see from the scan, and within their age band and bmi under 30) they'll discuss with you at your initial consultation the type of treatment plan you want... E.g. Ivf, icsi etc.

At that point you decide if you want to go ahead with them. You only have to pay your deposit for your 'treatment consultation' when you book it. We booked ours at the end of our initial consultation and paid a £500 deposit and were told the rest of our treatment costs will be payable when we have the treatment consultation.

One thing I didn't know before we started, which I wish I had, was that the baseline scan is only valid for 3 months and you'll need to commence treatment in this time or pay £185 to repeat the baseline scan. I've spoken to others who have lapsed the 3 months and not been charged to be re - scanned but I'm at Harley St and they advised I would have to pay. Just something to think about for budgeting or planning you treatment start date.

Good luck for your baseline scan, I was so excited before mine.

Thank you @Becky105 that helps me a lot was getting very confused with it all lol.. I'm hoping to start on my August cycle should be due on around 6th August so I'm hoping that is within the timeframe as I want to do it during summer hols cause of work (not telling them) and can't take time off.. my dp is having his first ever SA at the same time I'm having the baseline scan we are both soo nervous not sure whether he will get results that day or not. This is my first ever IVF/ or icis I have 2 Ds from previous marriage and he also has 2 . We been struggling to have 1 together for last 3 years so fingers crossed this works as can only afford 1 go .. good luck with your treatment when are you planning to start or have you already?
Good luck to everyone going through it already

Icsi2021 · 17/04/2021 09:24

@Herehoping93 you get SA results the same day and if you require any additional blood tests you usually get them the same day if not the very next morning, good luck x

Bean99 · 17/04/2021 09:42

Hi everyone, I found out last night that ABC have rejected me despite meeting their criteria because of being type 1 diabetic. They wanted me to be under consultant care, even though I'm already under a consultant at King's college, so recommended Create. I know this is an ABC thread but I wondered if anything has been with create? I'm so anxious I can't afford the price increase 🤦🏻‍♂️

Herehoping93 · 18/04/2021 19:28

Thank you @Icsi2021 I've managed to book my MMR blood test at doctors for this Wednesday so just need to try get the heb BC one at my docs of possible too.. my dp scare dog the blood test .. think he going to ask if he can do a fingerprick one they send you online lol

Icsi2021 · 18/04/2021 19:45

@Herehoping93 i had to have my mmr witch slowed process a little as its 4 weeks between the 2 injections and then treatment can start 4 weeks after 2nd dose x

Aimes2021 · 18/04/2021 23:54

Hi everyone, I have been following this thread and it seems so supportive and lovely! hope you don’t mind me joining. I have my baseline scan on Tuesday at Harley St. My virtual consultation is on the 29th April and I’m really hoping I can get a treatment consultation and meds in time for my period due about 8th May. What do you think my chances are of sorting everything out in time?!

Ac1234567 · 18/04/2021 23:59

Hi Aimes2021,

Unfortunately I don’t think you’ll get it booked in in time. I’m slightly ahead in the process compared to you at Harley Street. I had my follow up consultation last Monday and I’ve booked in for the treatment consultation on 10 May and I think that was the earliest they had. You may be able to get a cancellation though. Good luck x

Aimes2021 · 19/04/2021 06:59

Thanks Ac, I thought it might be wishful thinking, good to hear the reality. I’m sure it’s the same for everyone, having made the decision to do it, I just want to get started! Good luck with your next steps, keen to hear how you get on. X

Herehoping93 · 19/04/2021 08:28

@Icsi2021 oh dear that's a long wait.. fingers crossed I have immunity when they test. I'm hoping for an August start so if not I hopefully will get in time for that I can only do it during school half terms so tricky

AkiHope2021 · 20/04/2021 12:57

Hi all, I am with abc Harley street.. I have my egg collection tomorrow at create. In the instructions sheet it’s mentioned we have to get dressing gown and socks. Is this to wear during the procedure? Will they not provide dressing gown?

HopingForRainbow2021 · 20/04/2021 13:16

@AkiHope2021 hi :) I have ec at create St. Paul’s too. Last time I took a dressing gown but never used it. You get a surgical gown to wear for the procedure. Good luck for tomorrow x

AkiHope2021 · 20/04/2021 13:24

@HopingForRainbow2021 Thank you so much for the quick response 😊

Aimes2021 · 20/04/2021 22:01

Good luck @Akihope2021, hope it goes well tomorrow. I just had my baseline scan today at abc Harley street, can’t believe how lovely the staff were there, definitely feels like a positive start!

Hi ladies, looks like I'll be going down the IVF road! I've booked in my appointments with ABC Wimbledon with my scan at the end of May and consultation beginning of June.

DH (32) and I (28) have been TTC #1 for 7 months and are now looking to expedite the process through IVF. DH has low sperm count (10.5m/ml and 57.75m total) so we don't know how long a natural conception will take us. I seem to meet their criteria so I'm hoping that we'll be accepted onto it, currently AMH is 40.5 and BMI is 23.

Tests for DH and I were done back in January so will they be able to accept these results or will we have to do them again?

How quickly do things move with ABC after the consultation?

Icsi2021 · 26/04/2021 12:02

Just a little update for any1 that wishes to follow, my period finally arrive last week (3 weeks late) and started Bemfola 112.5 on Thursday, ive currently had 4 bemfola now, went for 1st treatment scan today and have 20 small follicles 💗 another scan Wednesday 🤞🏼 So great news so far x

HopingForRainbow2021 · 26/04/2021 12:06

@Icsi2021 that sounds like a good start to me :) I had EC yesterday and ended up with 11 eggs collected. They called earlier and told us that 10 have fertilised, which I'm thrilled with. Last time we got 10 eggs and 5 fertilised - so this has given me renewed hope for this cycle.

Hope your next scan goes well and those follicles grow nicely :)

Icsi2021 · 26/04/2021 12:26

@HopingForRainbow2021 amazing news for you too, im not too far behind you then. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼 X

HopingForRainbow2021 · 26/04/2021 12:28

@AkiHope2021 how did you get on with your EC? Hope all went well :)
