Hi @strawberrysummer19! I'm also looking to start first ivf cycle in April, probably towards the 20th. I'll be on short protocol. I'm 32, I have one tube due to a ruptured ectopic, endometriosis and one shit ovary 👍 (the one on the tube side)

Just finishing up bloods and getting re vaccinated for rubella 🙄

Do you know what protocol you'll be on? Nice to have someone to share the journey with!

strawberrysummer19 · 24/03/2021 19:31

Hi @DoctorBambino I'm also on short protocol.

I'm due around 13th April.

I've just had my 2nd covid vaccine today

Yes so nice to have someone to talk to

I'm so excited but I know we have hurdles to cross

My AMH is only 5.6 but my follicle count showed 9 so fingers crossed x

Hi. I start on 2nd April, halfway through my norethisterone just now. On short flare protocol. 38 and first cycle for us. Ttc for 2.5 years now, miscarried at 6 weeks last October. Very low amh and 5 follicles so aware the chances are pretty low. Excited to be getting going with it but a bit nervous too.

CyclingMumKent · 24/03/2021 21:02

Hi mum of 2 with blocked fallopian tubes. Taking my norethisterone till 2nd of April and egg collection mid April. Almost 41. AMH 6.9
I am taking Ubiquinol and gel testosterone and will be on short protocol
🤞💐

FingersXssd83 · 24/03/2021 21:15

I should be cycling in April too all being well, and I'm 37 and conceived DD on my third IVF cycle last year.

As I haven't bled yet since giving birth and breastfeeding, my consultant has said I'll need to take norethisterone @Kamiros @CyclingMumKent

I was under the impression that it would start a bleed and I'd then start the short protocol.

Is that how it's being used for you ladies?

CyclingMumKent · 24/03/2021 21:29

Yes. In order to predict the bleed date.
👌

FingersXssd83 · 24/03/2021 22:30

Ahh thanks for letting me know @CyclingMumKent

Kamiros · 24/03/2021 22:39

@FingersXssd83 Yes same for me.

FingersXssd83 · 25/03/2021 10:52

How long do you take it before a bleed if you don't mind me asking @Kamiros @CyclingMumKent I want my egg retrieval ASAP so hoping you aren't on it very long

Kamiros · 25/03/2021 10:55

@FingersXssd83 10 days for me, then 4 day break then I take one day prostap injection, one day break, then onto Ovaleap injections. My meds have just arrived so I'm half terrified and half very excited.

CyclingMumKent · 25/03/2021 11:23

I am on norethisterone 24th March till 2nd April

DoctorBambino · 25/03/2021 12:10

How exciting @kamiros that must make it all feel very real! I'll be taking ovaleap too, and fyremadel. I'm just waiting for my natural AF though so no norethisterone for me.

strawberrysummer19 · 25/03/2021 12:40

So exciting! I got my gonasi in the post today with my Sharps box and can't believe I actually got excited about it
For me it's calling up on day 1 where I will have baseline scan on day 2 or 3 and the nurse will go through the injections face to face so I'm pleased about that
Now just waiting for period! X

Hi everyone, can I join ? I am starting stims tomorrow. Egg collection should be in April.

Kamiros · 25/03/2021 13:02

I'm not getting a baseline scan which I thought was a bit odd - they're just using my scan from before. I go for my first scan on 5th day of Ovaleap though so I suppose its not long. So long as I get a bleed in the 4 day break I've just to go ahead and get on with it. Looking forward to getting finished work the most to be honest. Are you all taking time off during stims?

strawberrysummer19 · 25/03/2021 13:21

@Veex21 ya of course welcome

X

No time off at all for me !!

Although I work part time wfh with hardly any contact with anyone apart from 2 teams calls a week for meetings!

I plan to take a day off for egg collection then again for transfer but as I have a day off a week I can move it so I plan to take no time off

I haven't told work so my nurse suggested I say I have a gynie issue and if they ask just say it's a ovary issue etc but as much as I don't want to lie I don't want to say as it's a fairly new job and I'm only covering a maternity post
But we shall see

@Kamiros We are very similar. TTC almost 2 years and miscarried in october at 5.5 weeks. Very low amh (3 pmol), had afc 8 and 5. First child and I will be 35 in june. Hope to start in April too. Is this your first or do you already have a child? Are you also unexplained other than low amh (which they say doesn't prevent conception but i dunno..)

Veex21 · 25/03/2021 14:02

I have a 4 year old from my first cycle. I used my remaining frosties in 2019 but sadly lost my twins at 19 weeks. So very apprehensive going forward. I have also just started a new job and had to call in sick with migraine today. Back to the clinic Thursday for a scan and worrying what I should say to work. I only work mornings and they can only do morning scan appointments!

strawberrysummer19 · 25/03/2021 14:13

I'm sorry to hear that, that's brilliant you have a 4 yr old from your 1st.
Don't often hear on 1st cycle working.

I used to be worried of that thought but now I've just thought I'd cross that bridge when it comes to it
I'll use the idea my nurse said, have a few gyne apps coming up so will need x y z time off
I can make it up, take a leave or offer unpaid etc
They can't really question too much and if mine do then I would just tell them in starting Ivf but as I say I'm putting that to the bottom of my worry list x

Kamiros · 25/03/2021 15:09

@jolly86 yes this will be our first. Only amh as far as they can see, everything else looks OK. My amh is below 0.5 so incredibly low, the think that also means the quality is poor. I've been taking dhea and ubiquinol and have worked hard on eating right so hoping anything I do get will be good quality. I also have thyroid issues which have only really been sorted for about 6 months, my levels were really out after the miscarriage and they think it could have controlled- impossible to tell though.

jolly86 · 25/03/2021 15:23

@Kamiros I start to think when amh is already on the lower side the AFC doesn't change that much.. Indeed 5 isn't bad at all! I would be really happy if I respond well to drugs and get those 5 eggs. I get only 1 round on the NHS and then plan to go abroad- worried though about all these travel restrictions. Haven't taken DHEA but taking ubiquinol, and other vitamins in it starts with the egg book, and eating well.

strawberrysummer19 · 25/03/2021 15:24

@Kamiros I have been advised to take DHEA also and to up my coenzyme to 600mg so again like yourself I hope it makes a difference
Like they said it only takes one !

I've tried so hard with the diet which I've been doing since jan 1st, I have no weight to lose but it's the take away and sugar etc I find hard

I gave up caffeine ( coffee) as I too had a thyroid issue which is now under control - I have monthly bloods - that was no issue but we like our take aways and odd glass of wine here and there so that I miss! In fact I still get take aways here and there as I eat very well on the whole

I stressed about eating good food for so long
But now I'm just thinking I've literally done all I can well all I can do without stressing myself out of that makes sense

@jolly85 - I think you're right, they think 5 follicles is quite promising for my amh. I'd be delighted with 5 eggs if I'm honest - like you say it's just hoping I respond. NHS waiting list was just too long for us, plus my BMI is a little higher than they take. I've paid for 2 cycles just now then we'll see. Open to mild ivf next if I don't respond.

@strawberrysummer19 i started taking it in December so I've had a good run hopefully. I was on weightwatchers for years but started seeing a nutritionist in November. She told me never to go back to a slimming club, to stop focusing on the weight and just eat right, best thing I've ever done. Also gave up caffeine, diet drinks and anything processed. It's hard but I feel so much less stressed not weighing myself all the time which has to be worth as much if not more. I'm getting acupuncture once a week just now too which I find good for stress.

strawberrysummer19 · 25/03/2021 16:09

@Kamiros sounds like your doing fab.
It is hard isn't it but you have to be kind to yourself and know that you are doing everything you can within reason

I have low AMH but we're quite happy with 9 follicles even though my chances are slim

We've too done a 2 cycle round so fingers crossed

It's so hard to concentrate on anything else now it's so close!

It's good we have this group

@strawberrysummer19 I know, I have 2 friends that know and my parents but you don't want to bombard them with it. My husband is great but I do feel like they never really quite get it. I find groups great for all the random questions and just other people who understand.
