Hi all. Does anyone know whether the stims meds raise your TSH levels. I have underactive thyroid, had my levels checked in Dec when planning 1st cycle and they were at 2, lowest they'd ever been so all good. I was checked again 15 days after ET and they've doubled to 4.3 which is higher than the clinic said they needed to be. I've no idea what else could have caused it and now worried that I shouldn't have gone ahead with transfer and wasted a good quality embryo. Waiting on clinic calling me back but looks like it will be tomorrow now so thought I'd see if anyone has any thoughts.

Hello @Kamiros
Hope everything is working well for you Flowers
Im new to IVF world and im trying to understand how it works.
If you dont mind me asking, Im in a similar situation low follicles count + AMH
How is the treatment been? What have they recommended for you ?
many thanks

@Nania60 Hi. So I'm getting ready to start cycle 2 in the next few weeks, just waiting on af.

I have an AMH of 0.3 and my baseline follicles was 5. I did a flare protocol (common for low amh) - that was 10 days of norethisterone, then 4 day break. 1 injection of prostap then I was 10 days with injections of Ovaleap. I got 2 follicles grow to the right size but one was empty so only one egg. It fertilised and got to a 4AA blast on day 5, but ended in bfn. I found the treatment itself okay actually. I wasn't sore after egg collection with only having the 2 follicles. It's been a bit hard going since the bfn as my body struggled to get back to normal, just ovulated this week for the first time since the treatment in April.

I've had some thryroid issues so been working with an endocrinologist to get that sorted. Everything crossed for my next cycle. I've also looked into mild/ natural ivf which I haven't ruled out should this one not work.

Happy to answer questions if I can.

Thank you very much for the explanation.
I just had one consultation so far so, Im still learning.
Do you know why they give norethisterone ? I remember it's to delay your period but not sure wha it does on IVF
They recommended me Q10 vit and an injection to help the follicles grow but they said is expensive, have you hear about it?

I hope everything goes perfect this 2nd cycle

@nania60 the norethisterone is just to take control of your cycle so they can plan a little bit and know roughly when your period will come.

I take coq10 and also DHEA for egg quality. I'm not sure about an injection though.

Nania60 · 20/07/2021 11:17

@Kamiros
I was looking at those supplements but not sure whats the best or most recommended brand/dosis for us

Any suggestions ?

Thank you

Kamiros · 20/07/2021 12:49

I take 200 of coq10 but I know people take more.
Only take dhea if your consultant advises it or if a blood test shows you need it. I had to order mine from US but its definitely made a difference to me.
