That's my first scan done, unfortunately it didn't go well. Only one follicle above 10mm, she said the rest are tiny. She took ages to even find the left ovary. Going to get a call later but there's a good chance our cycle will be cancelled.

It's still early days! How many days of stims have you done? Mine were small on day 5 and they had to up the dose. Really sorry if it gets cancelled though. IVF is the hardest thing I've been through. It's full of waiting and full of disappointment.
Kamiros · 09/04/2021 09:38

@swirls3468 Only day 5 so maybe there's time. The sonographer whole demeanour changed after the scan, she looked really sympathetic so maybe I'm reading into that.

Think it'll be later today before they call. This whole process is just waiting.

Aprilia123 · 09/04/2021 09:42

I’m sorry Kamiros. Hopefully it’s just low dose / not enough days and they’ll pick up in time for next scan.

Collection for me on Sat. My clinic isn’t great at being clear on what they can see (I’m guessing expectation management) so no idea what they’re expecting to get.
Got as nervous about doing the trigger as I was about doing the first injection!

So for anyone looking at timelines for estimates (obviously everyone is different but I found it helpful) that was 5 days menopur, then a slight reduction in dose and add fyremadel for 3 days, then trigger + last fyremadel, so 8 day stims. I did over respond slightly apparently and had a reasonable starting dose (300).

Honestly on day 5 I had one that was 10mm and then the rest really small they said they don't even count those. They said I wasn't really responding. But as soon as they upped my dose on day 7 they started to grow. You only need a few good ones !

Kamiros · 09/04/2021 10:12

@swirls3468 That's actually cheered me up a little. Thank you. Hopefully that's the case.

strawberrysummer19 · 09/04/2021 10:12

There was me thinking it was difficult waiting for my period !! I'm not looking forward to all these hurdles and waiting.

Well like others have said, it's still day 5 so keep positive and I really hope you have some good news.

X

@strawberrysummer19 I know it's never ending! At least I'm not feeling alone in this - definitely helps.

starkid · 09/04/2021 10:58

Hi everyone! I just started down regulation drugs last Sunday, ready for my frozen transfer cycle of my 7-day blastocyst, after my first fresh cycle in January failed. I've got embryo transfer booked in for May 11th :)
Got all my fingers crossed as it's the only embryo we managed to get frozen, and our last go entitled on the NHS.

starkid · 09/04/2021 11:00

Also @Kamiros in my fresh cycle they had to up my dosage and between Friday and I think Monday lots more follicles had grown/shot up from nowhere, so hopefully the same for you! It really does wonders.

Kamiros · 09/04/2021 11:19

@starkid Thank you. I'm feeling a little brighter now. Even if it doesn't work this time we know we have other options. Hope your transfer goes well.

Crazydoglady123 · 09/04/2021 11:40

Hey, hope it's okay to join. I'm on long protocol atm and CD30 (day 9 of buserelin). Baseline scan is Tuesday but I haven't bled yet. Is anyone else on buserelin?

Kamiros · 09/04/2021 15:50

So I've to keep going and got another scan on Monday morning. Fingers crossed they're just slow.

Welcome @crazydoglady123

strawberrysummer19 · 09/04/2021 17:25

@Kamiros I'm sure that's the case, keep us updated

How is everyone coping with diets ? If you're on any. I don't have weight to lose but do over indulge in take aways and I do like wine and Prosecco so I'm really missing that at the moment! In fact we had a take away curry last night but we justified it by not having alcohol with it so trying to tell ourselves that we have actually been good! Sure I'm obsessing about the foods we shouldn't eat...it's just so hard.

I haven't drank for a few weeks basically when I knew we were booked in for April and have been trying to eat healthier since January

I feel guilty when I eat something bad!

I've started drinking beetroot juice as I read that's good for implantation and what with the supplements and trying to eat better I just hope it's enough x

Sending you positive vibes @Kamiros, each day can make all the difference in this process ❤

Millie029 · 09/04/2021 17:39

@swirls3468 That's great news to hear about your fertilised eggs! Everything crossed for the news you hope for on Monday x

Millie029 · 09/04/2021 17:43

@strawberrysummer19
I won't lie.. I've been eating all the bad stuff. This last few days I've not been feeling like cooking and appetite has gone, so have been eating quick and easy foods 🙈 definitely feel guilty about not being on a 'healthy diet'.
Today was our first follicle check scan. Booked in on Monday for egg collection x

strawberrysummer19 · 09/04/2021 17:58

@Millie029 I feel better for knowing I'm not the only one! It's so hard dealing with the worry and emotions that I've just figured what will be will be. I've eaten Easter eggs when I said I wouldn't!

Ohh how exciting x

Fuzzybump · 09/04/2021 18:31

Totally same on the food, I have been good for months but really just want to eat anything sweet! My guilty pleasure was apple pie this week Blush

I haven't heard of beetroot juice for implantation, I am being religious on the vitamins. I heard advacado is supposed to be a good super food

strawberrysummer19 · 09/04/2021 18:43

@Fuzzybump it's so difficult isn't it
I eat well but then I also eat naughty stuff!
But I try and limit it

I read it somewhere so I'm now drinking a glass a day! Thought can't do any harm and it sounds like it's very good for you

Is beetroot good for IVF?

Beetroots are a fantastic source of the antioxidant resveratrol, which is thought to help combat against age-related infertility. They also supply nitrates known to improve blood flow to the sexual organs, making them useful for male fertility and for supporting a healthy uterus during embryo implantation.5

I do eat beetroot with my salads but not tried the juice, I will add that in next week if I make it past Mondays scan.

How is everyone keeping busy/exercising? , I read that your running is off the menu on stims, am doing a bit of yoga anyone else?

CyclingMumKent · 09/04/2021 21:33

@Fuzzybump on day 4 of menopur. I went for a run yesterday after too many Easter eggs and Pilates today. Egg Collection is planned for Monday the 19th.

Babyvibes · 10/04/2021 09:14

Hi everyone ☺
Is anyone using rekovelle injections?
We tried ivf on menapure about 3 years ago and they put me on a lower dose as I am high risk of OS. This time they have said we can do menapure at a higher dose with the risk of OS or try rekovelle. I didnt sleep well last night couldn't stop thinking about what if we make the wrong decision. I'm not over weight im just within my ideal weight so not too worried about that. I have one ovaries that was full of follicles on my scan a couple of weeks. They other one showed it had more pcos in it. I just don't know what to do 😔

Hope you are all well and do t mind me joining. Best of luck to you all xx

Millie029 · 10/04/2021 09:36

Welcome @Babyvibes and good morning all!
Sorry, we're on gonal-f here. Did they indicate if there was a preference to one over or the other? Do you feel like you're leaning more to one than the other? It sounds positive about the amount of follicles you're showing 🙂
How did you get on with the OS risk last time? I'm at risk too, our clinic have put me on a shorter stint of stims at a low dose, and after the first follicle check we're going in for retrieval. They have warned me about needing an injection after retrieval to help lower the risk, and a chance that we'll need to freeze everything and wait to transfer 😬 x
