So which day of stims did everyone find a change on ultrasound?
I've done 4 days and went for a scan and she said there's not really much going on. There's loads of follicles but biggest is 10mm. I am such a low dose just hope it's enough! Guess I'll be on them for longer than I thought.

JessTTC · 27/03/2021 19:06

Evening ladies,
Little update, we went for our private scan that I booked on OTD because I knew I wouldn’t last to 7+6 when my clinic scan. I have since been sent to the EPU last Tuesday with continuous spotting at 5+3 which was reassuring but too early to see both heartbeats clearly. I also had to go alone as it was a very rushed, last minute appointment. The private scan today was amazing, the sonographer was also an NHS sonographer who works at the EPU which made me feel so relaxed and she gave me so much time and explained everything which in a hospital can sometimes be a little rushed. My DH also got to sit with me and see the babies for the first time and their little heartbeats which we also got a video of. If these babies don’t stick forever, Ill be devastated obviously but glad we had that time together this morning. I know the reassurance will last me 48 hours maximum!!! But just wanted to let those of you who were thinking about it about my experience today! I’m now very worried that this will replace my peeing on a stick habit though!

Rachae · 27/03/2021 19:38

@swirls3468 I think it's 10-14 days? So 10mm Is pretty good 4 days in! I got to 15mm+ after about a week and a half.
@JessTTC Congrats! What a lovely experience Smile

I'm going out of my mind tonight... I feel so confused by my day 3 update and so anxious for tomorrow morning. They said to go to my appontment if I don't get a call but Its that waiting when you wake up.. Wondering if you'll get the dreaded call that none have made it.

I just don't know if I'll have a 50% drop off rate of all 10 or a 50% drop off rate of the one good quality and maybe the 3 others that were good-average.

Mancbear88 · 28/03/2021 17:45

@JessTTC congratulations that must be lovely. A slightly more expensive habit than pregnancy tests though 😂 the odds after a heartbeat are really good!

@Rachae how did it go today?

Rachae · 28/03/2021 18:05

Hey @Mancbear88 it went great thank you, I'm so relieved! We got 3 4AAs, so transferred one and two in the freezer. There was also some early blastos so they're going to look tomorrow at them.
Can't believe it compared to last cycle! Feeling really positive now.
How are you getting on? X

Mancbear88 · 28/03/2021 18:16

@Rachae ah fantastic news fingers crossed for you, that’s a great result! It’s fantastic to have some left to freeze. Congratulations on being PUPO.

I’m struggling a bit with anxiety after my MMC last time. I worked out I’ve done upwards of 60 pregnancy tests, despite the fact they don’t really tell me anything! My spotting stopped after two days and I feel pregnant. I keep telling myself one day at a time - today I’m pregnant.

Rachae · 28/03/2021 18:27

@Mancbear88 thank you! 😊
How many weeks are you now? I totally understand, I've had a MMC before and it's so devastating 😔. Obvs maybe step away from the tests... wow 60! But I get it. Are you thinking of having a few early scans?

I know if I get preg, I'll pay to have one at 6 weeks every week. (I've had 3 mcs in total and so want to protect myself as much as poss).

I love your 'today I'm pregnant' mantra and I'm sure it will work out for you this time Xx

Mancbear88 · 28/03/2021 18:44

@Rachae the Amazon 50 for £7 have made it too easy for me to have access! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages, that must’ve been devastating.
I’m 6 4 today. I’m gonna have one at 8, 10 and 12. I wish I’d booked one at 7 weeks, but it’s not too far away.

I think it’s very sensible to book weekly ones if that helps you get through. I think we all just need to do whatever gets us through.

thetallgirl · 28/03/2021 18:52

Congrats @Rachae that's a great result. Congrats on being PUPO too.

Rachae · 28/03/2021 19:00

@Mancbear88 that is a total bargain to be fair! 😂 Ohh not too far away at all then, all my fingers crossed for your first scan!
@Thetallgirl thank you! 😁 X

Honey1989 · 29/03/2021 14:07

Hi all

Are any of the BFPs on here getting any nausea or sickness yet. 6+4 and the sickness has kicked in =(. I know I should be grateful after everything to be pregnant but I’m miserable

thetallgirl · 29/03/2021 14:27

@Honey1989 I'm 6+3 and been stressing at not having nausea. But today is the first day I've woken up and felt blergh.... just all day. Not sure I'd describe as nausea but it's not a nice feeling. It hasn't put me off food anyway 😂 also I was awake at 3.15 and slept very badly after that. If anything I'm grateful for symptoms right now as was very worried at the weekend about my lack of them!

Hopefully your nausea will only be for a few weeks.

MrTumbleTumble · 29/03/2021 15:21

I'm 6+5 and feel dreadful! No sickness but constant nausea.

I just keep telling myself it's reassuring, and the number of times I would have killed to feel like this. Especially as my scan is still over a week away.

@thetallgirl really glad to hear your scan went well.

thetallgirl · 29/03/2021 16:56

@MrTumbleTumble I haven't had it yet, but it's this week. Getting nervous now.

wishfulbean · 29/03/2021 17:31

@Honey1989 I've had really bad nausea for over a week and I'm only 5weeks + 5. I assumed it was because I have to take extra progesterone for the first two months. Hopefully it's also a sign that eggo is implanted and growing well!

Rachae · 29/03/2021 19:54

Hey for the BFPs... when did your main symptoms start after Embie transfer, just out of interest? And what were they, if we discount tiredness probs as I've had that all the way through! Xx

MrTumbleTumble · 29/03/2021 20:18

Oops sorry @thetallgirl I got you mixed up with @JessTTC. It's so nerve wracking waiting for your scan, I've got 10 days to wait for mine.

Honestly @Rachae I have had 2 IVF pregnancies and both times I've not had any actual symptoms until a week or so after the BFP. I've done many rounds and often convinced myself I have had symptoms but they've always just been down to the drugs. Never had any implantation bleeding or anything that people talk about on here!

Rachae · 29/03/2021 21:37

Thanks @MrTumbleTumble! Smile

thetallgirl · 29/03/2021 21:52

@Rachae I had implantation bleeding on days 7 and 8 after transfer. Tested on day 8 and got BFP. It's still weird to say that! My tiredness didn't start until the week after.

Mancbear88 · 30/03/2021 08:13

@Rachae I made a note of my symptoms day by day (sorry some of this is TMI).

I’m sure a lot was from the drugs I’m on and not the pregnancy- I’m not sure it’s possible to tell the difference!

Day 1 - bloated with some stomach pain, back pain, headache
Day 2 - very bloated, less stomach pain but heavy feeling, slight nausea, slight back ache, constipated
Day 3 - dizziness, bit of pain in left side, lots of CM, slight headaches, cold, calf cramping, tight stomach
Day 4 - erotic dream, slight headache, deja vu, runny nose, some pain like doing sit-ups, tired, burping
Day 5 - runny nose, vivid dream, tired, headache
Day 6 - headache,
Day 7 - stomach pain, bad constipation, hip pain
Day 8 - BFP afternoon, so tired

thetallgirl · 30/03/2021 11:47

Hi girls, little update from me. I have had my scan this morning. We saw one healthy tiny baby and could even see the heart flickering on screen. Such a relief to know things are progressing as they should. Baby is measuring 6 weeks exactly but I'm 6+4 today - nurse wasn't concerned.

Thank you to everyone on this forum. Throughout the past few months it's been so helpful to have you all for support and to hear your stories. I'll still be checking in to read your updates but will probably be less active for a while now.

Rachae · 30/03/2021 12:50

@Mancbear88 oo thanks very much-
that's super interesting!

Maddie020 · 30/03/2021 14:16

Update: they retrieved 5 eggs yesterday (EC).
Got a call from embryologist this morning and she has advised that out of 5 eggs 4 reached to matured but 2 didn't fertilise properly. 1 is still in the race and could fertilise by tomorrow.
And 1 has successfully fertilised(she said that it was very fast fertilisation and that they've not seen this fast - wondering if it's good or not?) and I might have day 3 transfer on Thursday.

Now I am wondering why they doing day 3 transfer and not day 5?

thetallgirl · 30/03/2021 15:08

@Maddie020 I think if there is only 1 fertilised, they'll do a day 3 transfer. It is better off inside you than being kept in the lab until day 5. The only reason for keeping until day 5 would be to see which embryo was the best to transfer - that's redundant if there's only 1.

Even if the one that is still in the race comes through, they might still opt for a 3 day transfer because they think the quick fertilised one is much better. Again, there would be no point waiting around until day 5 if the decision for which to transfer has already been made.

Transferring the embryo is the best thing for it, so be reassured that transfer on day 3 is giving you the best chance.

Florarenniemackintosh · 30/03/2021 15:36

Hey everyone hope you are all getting on well! I thought some information that could help and what I found interesting.

I have had two blood tests and I am positive! It feels weird to say bfp because it feels neither big nor fat, just tentative at the moment. I just pray they want to stay here.

I have been obsessed with signs and stats and books and info and podcasts and films about ivf. I am a serial sign spotter, too. However, these two experiences threw me.

  • I had 17 eggs and 11 of them fertilised. However after they put this egg in, they phoned us up to say that 8 others had come to nothing and three were in the freezer so they didn't know how they would pan out. After this phone call, we had 0 hope obviously and mourned for a whole weekend. However all you need is one good one.
  • I had no symptoms whatsoever to the point that on the morning of the first blood test I said ' I feel empty and that nothing is inside me, so I dont think it has worked'. When we got our (hard to read graph) positive ... we were both shell shocked.

Obviously there is a long way to go and I dont want to give anyone false hope (it is the absolute worst thing) but at the same time, it shows me how hard anything is to tell in this gruelling process and that there are not necessarily obvious signs.
