Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

Hi Ladies, just wanted to come on here to say thanks for all your support. They have had to cancel this cycle because I wasn’t responding to gonal f Stimms. So very gutted. Not the news I had hoped for, but I know it’s not the end of the journey for us.
Best of luck to everyone here. All my love to you amazing women xxx

Lclarke111 · 02/04/2021 09:47

@Itsjustme2021 so sorry to hear that honey, praying for a successful following cycle for you x

Bethpalmer20 · 02/04/2021 10:23

@donimo good luck today! I will be thinking of you!

@itsjustme2021 so sorry to hear that, I can imagine how gutted you feel. Sending you lots of love xx

Orsh · 02/04/2021 11:05

Good Morning All,
I just caught up with everyone's progress as I was crazy busy at work the last couple of days.

So many good results of the current steps. 😊

Good luck today @Donimo! I have never been sedated and I am also scared of it. I really hope you have a good experience with it this time and that you will get some great news straight after that 🤞.

I am sorry that your cycle needed to be cancelled @Itsjustme2021. I hope you will have a successful cycle soon. I am sure the docs will know better for the next time.

I finished taking progynova on Tuesday and had my 1st scan yesterday. I start stimulation today and my next scan will be on day 6.
I have 26 tiny follicles in my right and 19 in my left ovaries. Will be interesting to see how many will respond to stims and how as I have polycystic ovaries.
Also, my left ovary is behind my uterus. As it stands now it would be difficult to access it but they said it might changes with the stimulation.
I am expecting EC in 2 weeks if everything goes well.
I am very excited to do my first injection tonight 🤗.

I think I might be out. ET Saturday, Started spotting on Monday- just once. Then twice on Tuesday just when wiping. Wed little bit more. Thursday and today its every time I wipe and a smudge. Its pink/red darker red/brown. Have to wear a liner because of pessaries so there are odd smudges on that as well.

Have cramps and a little tender in the right side of vaginal walls so could be irritation from cyclogest.

Clinic said not to be worried unless it gets heavier but I suspect I might be out and had a bit of a melt down this morning.

Test isn't until Wednesday but I think I'll know by then. I mean I actually feel like i have my period Sad.

TTCbabyH · 02/04/2021 12:19

@RedFaerieBoots sorry you're feeling low. My clinic did tell me at embryo transfer that spotting is more common with IVF and doesn't represent a failed cycle. Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

RedFaerieBoots · 02/04/2021 12:30

@TTCbabyH - thank you. My clinic did say it could be a number of things. Isn't helping the trying not to think/worry.

Trying to be optimistic but think I'm starting to prepare myself. It's one hell of a rollercoaster ride do kudos to those who have done this more than once. I mean how do you cope?

Donimo · 02/04/2021 12:32

I'm sorry @Itsjustme2021, take some time for yourself. And when you are ready speak to your consultant. As different medications work differently for everyone. I didn't respond to bemfola at all but menopur seemed to make a bit of a difference for me. But thinking of you and take some time to look after yourself.

Glad you can start tonight @Orsh, exciting!

@RedFaerieBoots I am sorry you are worried its not worked. But honestly I was told in my past pregnancies that light bleeding early on is quite common. So its not over yet. Fingers crossed for you.

@Lclarke111 how was your scan today? Is egg collection Sunday or Monday?

So I had my egg collection this morning. Thank you so much for all your support and well wishes. I did have a little breakdown when getting into the theatre but the nurses were so lovely and gave me tissues and lots of reassurance. We got 3 eggs which is the most we were expecting. Prior to collection the consultant said there would be 2, so she and we are pleased with the 3. Much lower than lots of people but considering where we were jusy over a week ago (with no response) I am happy. Just praying we get good fertilisation! At the risk of sounding mental it feels odd that the eggs are no longer with me.... as been sending them positive vibes and messages all week!!

Itstime1 · 02/04/2021 13:46

@Donimo so happy you got three! I was in the 0-3 category so I know the relief you feel. Fingers crossed and positive vibes for you for tomorrow x

@Itsjustme2021 so gutted for you that they have had to cancel. Try to have a lovely Easter weekend and pamper yourself!

@RedFaerieBoots sorry it’s not going as planned, there’s still hope so fingers crossed for you x

Lclarke111 · 02/04/2021 15:37

Scan very good, 14 over 16 and a few over 14, so they are keeping it to Monday @Donimo how was today?

Lclarke111 · 02/04/2021 15:47

@Donimo it is definitely not the quantity but quality and now praying for a strong 5 days x

beachbum85 · 02/04/2021 17:13

@Donimo so glad that you got all 3 - I can imagine the relief and happiness :) Those positive vibes worked so far, so fingers they keep going the same way over the next 5 days x
Also really good to hear that the nurses were so great. I hope you're feeling well - time to take it easy now!

@RedFaerieBoots I'm so sorry this is happening and I totally understand the worry, especially in the first cycle. I would be the same but my clinic also said not to worry about spotting/light bleeding. Keeping everything tightly crossed for you, and sending you a hug x

@Itsjustme2021 I'm so sorry that your cycle is cancelled, that must be so upsetting. I'm sure they'll figure out the meds/protocol that work for you, so best of luck with the next cycle and thanks for all your well wishes too. Lots of love back x

@Lclarke111 wow, so many! very happy for you and good luck for Monday :)

@Orsh great to hear you're starting stims! good luck for your first injection tonight, really exciting!

@Itstime1 and @TTCbabyH how are you feeling in the tww?

Lclarke111 · 02/04/2021 17:46

Thank you @beachbum85 how are you feeling at the moment?

Can I ask everyone, how did you all feel straight after egg retrieval? X

Donimo · 02/04/2021 18:24

Thank you everyone. How's everyone doing this Easter weekend? How's those in tww going?

@Lclarke111 a good number of large follicles so looking good for Monday Grin
I feel absolutely fine after egg retrieval, was told off by the nurse for getting out of bed too soon as felt really good! And although taken it easy all day (as per my instructions, which i keep showing my husband which says to rest and not to use the oven!) I have felt absolutely fine, even watered all the plants I have planted over the past 2 weeks of isolation. Not needed to take any painkillers. But maybe I have done ok due to the lower number of eggs meaning my ovaries are less swollen?!?

6543336787gesgvjhg · 02/04/2021 18:37

@Orsh good luck with starting stims tonight. What are you on?

@Itsjustme2021 to hear this cycle is cancelled. Try and think positive even though I know it must be hard.

@Donimo so happy you got your 3! Sending positive vibes for tomorrow’s fertilisation.

@RedFaerieBoots don’t stress I was told the same about spotting and my mum reminded me of this too. Do you usually bleed heavy first day of period too? I’ve never had spotting before a period.

@Lclarke111 Do you mean pain wise? I was ok pain wise just kept up with pain killers as they advised. It was more the cyclogest for afterwards. Made me super bloated. Also finding I’m really sore down there now. I tried them rectally last night and so much better so going to switch them up now to make it easier. Any one else found this?

Hazza2021 · 02/04/2021 18:37

@RedFaerieBoots It could be an implantation bleed so don’t worry too much yet as long as it’s not full blown red blood. It could be a positive thing. I had my transfer Saturday too. I’ve had a lot of cramps and some nausea today aswell but could possibly be the progesterone. This two week wait is just so long!

RedFaerieBoots · 02/04/2021 19:00

Its not. I just feel crampy and like I should be super heavy. Its only a small smudge on liner and when I wipe. Seems to be pinky red to the redder side. Also bloated but that's been a thing since before EC.

Usually I would spot for a couple of hours before it got full on heavy. Its my sign to use a pad/take painkillers to cope with the first day cramps.

Trying to calm down and not worry. Today was just a full on emotional overload. Went for a walk and have been binging on Agents of Shield (part of our chronological attempt at marvels films + series).

@Hazza2021 I'm glad the crampy thing seems to be common.

You guys have helped a bit. Its different from clinic saying stuff vs you guys as you are either on the journey or have done this before.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 02/04/2021 22:30

Hope you're all okay. Thinking of you.

Orsh · 03/04/2021 02:06

My first injection did not go great.
I got the needle in when i felt unwell so i took it out without administering the meds.
I fainted and had a seizure (never before). I am fine, but it was supposed to be my first day of stims and I missed it. (As I am still at the doctors)
I will call the fertility emergency number tomorrow, but I really hope I can still do my cycle. I hope if I start stims the next day is still okay as it was not depending on my period.

The injection doesn't hurt, I did it before, so other than I was anxious about it, it had nothing to do with it. I am just adding this to those who haven't started injections yet 😉

Orsh · 03/04/2021 03:31

Sorry , just an update. It wasn't a seizure, only a fancy faint, that looks like seizure and it's called a vascovagal episode.
Anyway, I still missed my 1st stim injection 🙁

Lclarke111 · 03/04/2021 06:26

@Orsh so sorry to hear that, I have had a few light headed moments with the stims and my OH has had to do it for me and then I lay down for 10 minutes, hopefully today your clinic will allow you to start!! Hope you are feeling ok in yourself though x

@Donimo it's good that you felt ok afterwards, my niece had 14 taken and said she felt fine too, just sleepy straight after, I just want to make sure the hubby has a good bday and so I will do my best to dose up on the day. Currently laying with hot water bottle since 5 as the pains are getting unbearable now.

@6543336787gesgvjhg yes definitely need to dose up on the pain killers I think, thank you x

@RedFaerieBoots I agree, much easier asking others who are in the same moment, most of the clinics can advise but not been through it physically themselves. Praying spotting is a good sign of implantation x

PurpleUnicorn01 · 03/04/2021 10:52

@Orsh hope you feel better.

I hope the rest of you are well.

Donimo · 03/04/2021 12:00

@Orsh hope you are feeling better this morning. Have you spoken to the clinic? Can you start tonight?

I haven't had great news this morning, we only have 1 embryo. So booked in for a 3 day transfer on Monday. Trying to stay positive that it only takes 1!

Bethpalmer20 · 03/04/2021 12:23

@donimo definitely try to stay positive, it does only take one! They say that if you only have 1 or 2 etc at day three then they're better to be put inside you in an environment where they can thrive! My transfer is also booked for Monday so will be thinking of you!

Lclarke111 · 03/04/2021 12:59

@Donimohave everything crossed for a healthy one and a good transfer, let us know how it goes and you aswell @Bethpalmer20 xx
